ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all we would like to thank the most beneficent and merciful
GOD for showering his blessing upon us.
With heart full of gratitude I express my sincere thanks to our Regional
Director i/c Dr. M. SARAVANA KUMAR Regional Centre Of Anna
University, Coimbatore for permitting me to undergo a practical training.
We also earnestly wish to thank Mr. M. YUVARAJU Head of the
Department i/c, Department of civil engineering for creating an excellent
academic climate and for her valuable suggestion and advice in carrying out
training.
It gives immense pleasure to express my deep sense of gratitude to Mr.
S. JAGADESH KANNAN , Managing Director, Archetype Design Services
Pvt Ltd.,for his constant encouragement and cooperation that helped me to
complete this training.
We thank our parents for their and support throughout the period of study.
Finally, we would like to express our thanks to those who have helped us
directly or indirectly for the successful completion of our project work.

ABSTRACT
This practical training report consists of analysis and design of
Residential Building. This practical training is taken up with an objective of
understanding the behaviour of structure and gain confidence in design
structure, making use of IS codal provision.
In this practical training, analysis, design and detailing of slab,
beam, column, footing, staircase is done. The ground floor has a plinth area of
131.3 m2 with SBC of 150 kN/mm2. The building consists of various sectional
rooms.
In this practical training the building is designed as a framed
structure. The design of structure is done by using IS: 456-2000. The structure
elements such as slab, beam, column and staircase are designed by limit state
method and analysed by STAAD PRO software. For design M20 concrete and
high strength deformed bars of grade of Fe250 have been used.Structural
drawings are prepared using AUTO CADD 2007.
