Speech (Clever-land preparatory school)

To the administration, teachers, Parents, and most especially to the students

and graduates of Clever-land preparatory school, a pleasant afternoon to one
and all.
Last week, I received a message from one of the teachers of this good
institution giving me that task to be the speaker of your first commencement
exercise. I was surprised that at this early point in my life I am invited to
speak but I accepted it for the reason that I want to be part of the history as
the first speaker of your commencement exercise. I am greatly humbled to
speak to you graduates and to the people present in this special occasion to
speak about valuing education in this present time.
A day ago as I was browsing my facebook account, I ended up reading news
with regards to children who committed suicide because of their frustration
and desire to graduate.
nag suicide. These friends would really be an eye opener for us that even
children would really want to experience success in their early age.
This special occasion today is a mirror that even in your young age, you,
being the pioneering graduates of Clever-land Preparatory School, are also
aspiring to experience success in life.
If we were to recall our experiences when we were still studying, those
question such as What is your ambition in life? Mag unsa man ka pag
dako nimo? are familiar questions that were thrown to us by our pre-school
or kindergarten teachers. Some would say gusto ko mag sundalo, ingon pa
maam ug sir or siguro naa ra pud nag handum nga gusto ko maka graduate
ug bahala na ug unsay akong trabaho these varied answers might be
simple yet because we dream of what we want to achieve and because also
of studying weve arrived to what we are now and education was one of
those key factors kung unsa ta karon.
Let this special occasion be a reflection for us that the graduation of these
seven wonderful pupils would mark as the start of their desire to achieve
their different ambitions in life. However, it would be very hard for them to
achieve their goals if there would be lack of support from parents and
teachers.

To the teachers, please instill in to the young minds of your students the
value of education for it is through education that they could succeed in life.
Have that heart to transform individuals to become assets of our society
rather than being the badlungon of the society. If we try to analyze it the
success of a child and even his failure, could be a feedback to the school.
bataa? Asa mani siya ga eskwela? Well, that hairline distinction of producing
an asset or a badlungon person would really depend on us. Please dont
lose hope in your students, remember that the Divine Providence guided the
little ones to your care for you to mold them to be better persons. Journey
with them each day for them to feel loved and for them to really value school
in some instances makadungog ko ug mga gagmayng bata nga maghilak
kay tungod di mu sulod sa skwelahan ug pangutan-on ngano most of the
Our gestures in class may
be intentional or not but it would really have an impact on these children on
how they would value schooling. I hope and I pray that you still have that
passion in you that you were having when you took oath to God and to the
constitution on your desire to teach.
Parents, support your children in any way or another for them to fulfill their
ambitions. Remediate them or follow them up after school.
This thinking my dear
parents would also be a reason for our young kids not to value education
since they could feel that education is a struggle rather than for it to be
enjoyed. Support your children even during their failures. There might be
instances that your children might fail. Never let them feel rejected but let
them understand that failure is part of growing up and it also entails
learning.
To the pupils, have that desire to really learn in class. Listen to your teachers
and parents for they only want what is good for you. Say thank you to your
parents for sending you here in this very nice school for you to learn. I pray
that all of you would be successful in your endeavors.

These seven pupils of your school made history today for being the
pioneering batch to graduate. Let us clap our hands for them.
To end my speech, I would like to congratulate the students together with
their parents in this occasion of the first commencement exercise of Cleverland preparatory school.
Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon ahead of us!
