SUMMARY ARTICLES 13-24

Article 13 talks about the right to move and reside within ones country. It also talks
about the right to travel to another country and go back to his home country. Article
14 talks about the right to seek a safe place to live. This right however, is not
exercised, upon people having cases against the purposes and principles of the
United Nations(UN). Article 15 talks about the right of people to have a nationality
and that he shouldnt be denied of his right to change such. Article 16 talks about
the right of people to marry, given the approval of the intending spouses. It also
recognizes the family as the fundamental group component of society and should
be subject to protection by the government. Article 17 talks about the right to own a
property and shall not be deprived of such. Article 18 talks about the right to
freedom of thought, conscience and religion and same rights shall be expressed
freely by men. Article 19 talks about the freedom of expression and same shall
include the freedom to opine and relay information through any medium of
communication. Article 20 talks about the right of everyone to participate in public
gatherings. No one also shall be forced to join such. Article 21 talks about the right
of people to participate in government, and the right to equality in public service. It
recognizes that the people are the backbone of the government. Article 22 talks
about the right to social security and thus the state should support undertakings
promoting the development of ones character. Article 23 talks about the right to
work of individuals and to freely choose where they will work, it also talks about the
right to equal pay and the right to join trade unions for the protection of his welfare.
Article 24 talks about the right to rest, including control of working hours and broken
holidays with pay.

REACTION
I believe that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is very important
nowadays. This conveys the basic commandments of humanity. It tells us how to
treat one another in a just manner and is a catalyst for peace for the world. The
UDHR is tranquil to comprehend thus giving people standard interpretation as to
what each right really means. Given this nature of the UDHR, if implemented
properly, I believe that the world would be a better place to live in.
REFELCTION
This chapter has given me rights with regard the rights I have as a human being.
Before I took this subject, I had little knowledge of UNs Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. Now, that I know about it, I will try to fight for my rights should the
same be deprived upon me. I can use my learning on the rights that I have through
informing people about such. Not all people know about these rights, and I believe
that I co-exist with them, they ought to know such. This is how I will apply the
knowledge of the basic human rights I have as a person.
