Welcome Back!
Welcome back parents and students to the 2015-2016
school year at DD Middle School. The sixth grade teachers
are excited about working with you to make this an
exceptional year. Youll find important announcements,
curriculum updates, and news about whats happening in
our classrooms in this newsletter. I look forward to
working with you all as your child prepares for the next
step in their schooling journey!

21st century teaching
Integrating technology into classroom instruction
means more than teaching basic computer skills and
software programs in a separate computer
class. Technology and interactive multimedia are more
conducive to project-based learning. Another reason for
technology integration is the necessity of today's
students to have 21st century skills.
I will be integrating technology into my classroom and
having your student participate with various technology
tools. There are two tools that I would like to introduce
this month edpuzzle and remind.com. Edpuzzle will
engage your student with videos that I or another
educator have prepared, and track your students
understanding of the material. Remind.com is any easy
communication tool that will help me connect instantly
with the parents and students.
