The Redfield Widefield 3-9x Accu-Trac Accu-Range

#15 Butler Creek eye

#12 Butler Creek objective

Zeroing the Accu-Trac

Remove the hex head screw and dial from the scope. Make zero
adjustments as required using a screwdriver or coin inserted into the
slot
at
the
top
of
the
elevation
plunger.
Accu-Trac is calibrated from 200 to 600 yards so you will need a 200
yard zero. If possible, zero on an actual 200 yard range. If a 200 yard
range is not available, you can zero the scope high at 100 yards. The
amount of this MRT is shown below:

Note:
Accu-Trac elevation dials are different MOA value (Adjustment
increment values) than the windage dials and the elevation
dials on None Accu-Trac scopes. Elevation knob value per
graduation for Accu-Trac scopes is 0.4" per click.

Calibrating the dial

Once the scope has been zeroed, place the correct dial on the
elevation turret and turn clockwise until it stops. (See the Accu-Trac
Compatible ballistics chart shown below) The zero distance number
should be aligned with the reference line on the outer tube. Tighten
the hex head screw being careful not to change the elevation setting
while doing so. Your Accu-Trac is now calibrated for the 200 yard
zero and all other ranges.

Using Accu-Trac
With the rifle at your shoulder in a normal shooting position, sight on
the game, placing its body between the two "stadia" wires. Turn the
power selector ring (zoom in or out)...
When the game fits between the stadia wires from shoulder to
brisket, read the range as the last figure visible at the bottom of the
scope.
With the proper dial for your bullet caliber and weight installed, turn
the elevation dial to the range indicated (i.e. "5" for 500 yards). You
have now compensated for bullet drop from zero at that range.
Aim right on target without holdover. Since you have already
estimated range, you can increase or decrease the scope power as
desired without affecting the trajectory or point of impact.
Important:

Avoid letting the sun shine directly into the objective lens. This
lens can act as a "burning glass", causing deterioration of the
Accu-Range scale inside of the scope.

Using Accu-Trac on various sized game

Deer measuring approximately 18" from shoulder to brisket are
perfect objects for using Accu-Trac. However, applying the factors
listed below can also use other animals of larger or smaller size.
For example: The body of an elk measuring 24' from shoulder
to brisket, indicates a distance of 300 yards. To compensate for
the large body size, find the actual distance under the 300-yard
column as 400-yards.

To install the proper dial for the bullet caliber and weight you will be using,
simply find that bullet listing in the Accu-Trac Compatible Ballistics chart
following. Remove the dial that comes with your scope and install the
proper dial in its place.
