This workshop is intended to help chemical testing and calibration laboratories create the initial
documentation to satisfy the requirements of ISO 17025. A Quality Manual serves as a
fundamental working document for the entire operation of a testing/calibration laboratory. Its
application to day-to-day work results in uniformity, consistency and quality improvement in
the operations of the laboratory. Such documentation is a requirement for accreditation by the
Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) of the Department of Trade and Industry. Writing a
Quality Manual is the first step to be taken by a laboratory in its goal towards public recognition
of its competence in the areas of testing and calibration. In addition, this training workshop
aims to prepare Philippine analytical chemistry laboratories to be ISO 17025 accredited in order
to meet the challenges of ASEAN 2015 so that they can be at par with the best chemistry
testing laboratories in the ASEAN Region.
