Your Everyday Heroes

waste and recycling
collection calendar 2015

www.woking.gov.uk

Heroes assemble!
Last year more than half of the materials placed into Wokings black refuse
bins could have been recycled using the blue-lidded bins and food caddies.
Disposing of these valuable resources cost residents 500,000 more than it
would have cost to recycle them!
Everyone has the power to recycle. So join the fight against wasteful and
expensive disposal and become an 'Everyday Recycling Hero' for Woking.
A list of what can be recycled using your blue recycling bin or sack, food caddy,
textile and small electrical collections is included in this calendar.

Do you know what happens to your recyclable waste once it has been
collected from the kerbside?
Check out our superhero comics and newsletters which show you what happens
behind the scenes' at www.woking.gov.uk/everydayheroescomic or discover
fascinating facts, hints and tips about recycling in Woking at
www.woking.gov.uk/recyclenewsletter

Extra festive waste

Over the festival holidays we create around 30% more waste.
Extra recycling is always collected
when presented in securely tied
carrier bags (to keep paper and
card dry) by the side of your
recycling bin. So please do not be
tempted to put recyclables into the
black bin!
If you regularly have extra recycling
or food, we can provide you with
another recycling bin or food caddy
free of charge.
Woking Borough Council and Biffa would like to wish all our Everyday
Recycling Heroes a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
