In response to your various questions about acknowledged inaccuracies in Dean Rickels listing of three presentations made and/or panel discussions in which he participated, the University has the following to offer: Thencandidate Dr. Todd Rickel was notified by Provost Mike Sherman on February 13, 2015 of some questions about several presentations listed on his curriculum vitae (CV); later that afternoon, Dr. Rickel replied to Provost Sherman acknowledging the mistakes, offering his apologies for those errors and correcting the CV, which now shows Last updated: 14 February 2015. (See attached February 13, 2015 email.) Through discussions with Dr. Sherman and others within the university, Dr. Rickel has accepted responsibility for those mistakes, provided documentation of the corrected presentations and repeatedly expressed his regret for the errors that he made, including in prior responses to your earlier questions. He did attend and present/participate at the sessions listed on the corrected CV. The university has determined that there was no intent to deceive and that Dr. Rickel did not gain any advantage as a result of the mistakes, and considers the matter resolved and closed. As for the inquiry about Dr. Rickel being a member of the Review Committee regarding the online nursing RFP and selection of Academic Partnerships, we inadvertently provided incorrect names of the group that reviewed the submission from Academic Partnerships. As you are aware, even though this was a public bid and sent to many vendors, UA only received one response to the RFP. Thus, there was not a traditional review committee in comparing multiple bids to make a selection. However, the submission by Academic Partnerships was reviewed internally to determine if it was a viable option for the University. The group that reviewed the submission by Academic Partnerships was Dr. Rex Ramsier, Denise Cool, Dr. David Gordon, Marlene Huff and others from the School of Nursing. We had originally listed the group as including Denise Cool, Dr. Gordon, Dr. Ramsier, Dr. Todd Rickel, Dr. Stacey Moore, and Ms. Lauri Thorpe, but Dr. Rickel, Dr. Moore and Ms. Thorpe did not participate in that review.
