Software Engineer - Android

Grofers is looking for someone to own our Android App; leading the entire development
process so that shopping from local stores through the app becomes a seamless experience.

Basic Requirements:

Excellent knowledge of Java Technology Stack, Mobile Development and Android ecosystem.

Good exposure to SQLite.

Capable of handling web service integration - RESTful, JSON, SOAP, XML

A focus and passion for Mobile UI & UX to make apps exciting for the user.

Excellent debugging and optimization skills.

Rapid prototyping skills for getting product feedback.

Atleast one year experience with Android development.

Software Engineer Back end

Architect and work on a new product from scratch. Everything from what the initial
technology should be, to eventually engineer it to scale. You'll be writing high performing
code that deploys to production multiple times a day. You'll make key architectural decisions
as well as solve scaling challenges. The right candidate loves programming, ships code to
production quickly and is passionate about building products for the web & mobile.
Key responsibilities:

Development of our applications backend.

Design, develop and own components of the product.

Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively, to solve problems and build,
extend, optimize and refactor the back-end architecture

Strengthen or improve development and release processes within the team.

What we require:

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Good working knowledge of python, django.

You have worked on very large internet applications and were instrumentally involved
with the scaling and performance challenges.

Excellent understanding of MVC and OOP. Bonus for understanding of prevalent design
patterns.

Good working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.

Understanding of RESTful APIs and services is a plus.

Contributions to open source project is a plus.

Performance optimization, SQL tuning, caching techniques is a plus.

Understanding of message queues, pub-sub, in-memory data stores.

You should be thorough with version control system concepts.

Startup mentality, high willingness to learn, and hardworking.

Software Engineer Devops

The devops engineer is responsible for handling large scale distributed infrastructure
deployments from scratch and have significant experience in handling systems scalability,
architecture, with strong troubleshooting skills through which we make our engineering,
business and operations teams work smarter and faster. Speed matters and so you have to be
responsible for the core operational services that enable engineering to operate at maximum
velocity.

Key responsibilities:

You have a minimum of 2 years of work experience

Amazon Web Services (EC2 & EBS, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Route 53), Puppet, Chef,
Jenkins

Experience with robust shell or scripting tasks

Handling of SSL and scalability issues

Develop software and processes for better utilization of underlying cloud resources

Automate deployment and management of large scale web services spanning

Optimizing performance, tuning SQL and caching techniques

What we require?

Extensive experience in Python and Django

Excellent communication and strong application level analytical, troubleshooting and


problem solving skills

Experience in working on cloud platforms

Excellent understanding of MVC and OOP

In depth understanding of prevalent design patterns

Good working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases

Complete understanding of RESTful APIs and services

Understanding of message queues, pub-sub, in-memory data stores

Pro in using version control system concepts

Software Engineer Front end

We are currently on a lookout for a Javascript expert, who has experience of building worldclass apps using JS frameworks (Angular/Ember/Backbone preferred- but someone with
strong JS fundamentals is also desired)

Key Responsibilities:

Development of our application's front-end and our public websites

Take ownership of the code your write & features you build

Pioneer product ideas, participate in the design and implement them

Strengthen and improve architecture of our front-end

Strengthen and improve development and release processes within the team

Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively.

What we require:

Experience in developing front-end applications at scale

Strong knowledge and experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript

Experience of writing modular/reusable code and using JS frameworks like Ember,


Angular, Backbone.js etc. especially about their internal working

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Knowledge of high-level programming concepts like promises, data-binding.

Experience with SASS, Grunt, Selenium is a plus.

Knowledge of Javascript design patterns is a plus.

Knowledge of server side is a plus.

Grofers is looking for someone to own our iOS app. This means leading the entire

You know the iPhone/iOS ecosystem inside and out and follow the latest improvements

You care about user experience and sweat all the little details

You understand the larger context of running a growing mobile+web service

Youve thought about how to bring great performance from an app that needs network
access

You can point to your involvement in a working app in the App Store

Your work has been featured by Apple at some point in your career
