General Observations:a

No cracks are observed in brick masonry.

The plumb and line of brick walls are satisfactory.


The ouside painting is shaded and white patches are observed at certain places.
As such it is recommanded to apply one coat painting outside the building at the
shaded area.

General Observations:a

Joints of flooring are not true to line, joint spacings are a bit high.

The spacings are not properly filled with mortar and many joints are exposed.
The flooring in portico slab is damaged at one place & it is reported that the
damage caused due to cooking on floor. The damaged flooring area shall be
replaced & repaired.

Door & Windows :

not observed over the flooring any where. Proper precautions should have been
taken while erection of door frames.

General Observations:There is a gap of 2'' to 2.5'' in between wall and staircase in 2nd flight of
a
staircase, which may endanger the students while passing. It may be closed
immediately with concreting.
The height of Hand railing is 0.60m only. As per NBC-2005, it shall be 1.0m

height measured from the base of the middle of the treads to the top of the
handrails.
The stone skirting on either side of staircase landing areas are provided but on

steps skirting is not provided.
The constant width & rise of steps are not maintained. As per National Building
Code of India 2005, the minimum tread & rise shall be 300mm x 150mm & width

of stair to be 2.0M for institutional buildings and the risers shall be limited to 12
per flight.

Fan Hooks provided in Dining hall are zigzag not followed the line & space.

As per NBC-2005 for effectual drainage of the rain water one pipe of 10 cm. dia.
for every 40 sqm. of roof area shall be provided and the pipes are so arranged
not to cause dampness in any part of the walls. Further It is desirable to
conserve rain water using suitable rain water harvesting techniques or the rainwater pipes to be connected to a drain or sewer to the road gutter.

General Observations:a

Slopes are provided in chajjas. But rain water drain out at a single point by way
of providing Cement mortar patty or one brick wall all along periphery with PVC
pipe outlet provision should have been given.

Overall Observations & Suggestions :a

The Overall Workmanship is good.

The provision of Blackboards in Class Rooms, shelves in all rooms, Plotform in


Dining & Kitchen room are not made. The provision of Raised Plotforms in class
rooms are also not made.

The Main Power Supply Cables from Electrical Pole to the building are running on
the wooden poles. The main cables shall be run in the under ground. Electrical
control pannel work is not yet completed.

Un-hygenic conditions with ponding of rain water on left side of building is


noticed. Hence 2.0m wide all along the building, the gravelling shall be done to
avoid mosquito growth, vegetation growth etc.,

As per the G.O.Ms.No.350 M.A., Dated:9th June,2000 of Govt.of A.P. every


building plots having plot size more than 300 Sq. Mtrs. shall be provided for
conservation and harvesting of rain water.

Earthing :: It is observed that sufficient Earthing arrangements confirming the


Electrical Installation requirements are not provided.

The Lightening Arrester at the roof shall be provided with suitable


arrangement for passing electrical surge into the ground.

Floor indicator :-The number of each floor shall be conspicuously painted in


figures at least 15 cm. large on the wall facing the fight of a stairway or at such
suitable place as is distinctly visible from the fights.

Physically handicapped persons:: A ramp for physically handicapped persons


shall be provided having a slope greater than 1 in 20 or maximum of 1 in 12 for
short distance up to 9.0m and handrails on at least one side, having 900 mm
high as per National Building Code of India 2005.
The arrangement of Bathrooms and Toilets are not systematic. Exhaust
arrangements for toilets are not made nor it feasible due to un-systematic
arrangements.
Dormitories:: There is only one door way provided for dormitory. As per
National Building Code of India 2005, all dormitories shall have exits so arranged
that from any dormitory sleeping area, there shall be access to two separate
exits in different directions with no common path of travel.Every room with a
capacity of over 45 persons in area shall have at least two doorways.
Ceiling Height Requirements as per NBC-2005::
a) Educational Institutions :: Ceiling height shall be -3.6 m.
b)Verandah, Bathroom, W.C., Store room, minimum height -2.00m

Quality Control Aspects ::


Test Reports of Building Materials :: One time test reports from a private lab
dt.16.4.2012 are furnished in respect of materials Sand, Coarse Aggregates, Fine
aggregates, Cement, Steel.
Frequency of Tests:: Vide agreement cl.3.5.3 , the frequency of tests are
enforced i.e., no.of tests for certain quantity of cement, aggregates, concrete
etc., The field officers are furnished the test records registers.
QC Lab/Registers :: The field staff are furnished the Quality Control register.

Note:
1) This inspection report does not purport to be covering all the aspects of the work,
and the filed officers are advised to check up the work item wise and ensure the
specified standards before making final payment.
