The tables shows the perception of the participants on the NSD Lecture Series
entitled __ conducted by ___ on ___ at 3 rd floor Conference Room, Maria Reyna
Xavier University Hospital, Inc. This is based on the results of the Course Evaluation
Tool provided to the participants with five criteria evaluating the objective, course
content,
resource
speaker,
knowledge
of
participants
and
technical
support/assistance, wherein table 1 shows the rating of the 65 respondents who
took time to fill out the evaluation tool during the morning session and table 2 with
68 respondent during the afternoon session, totalling at 133 respondents for both
sessions.
To begin, it is evident that an enormous majority believed that the lecture
series objective was outstanding since it was very relevant to the nursing practice.
An outstanding rating was also given by the large majority to the course content
because of its relevance to the practice, adequacy, and applicability to current
practice. A considerable number of participants also liked a lot the resource speaker
for his clear discussion and mastery of the subject matter. However, 70 out of 133
participants considered that the audience impact and participation were just good,
49 of them rated this criterion as outstanding and only 14 considered it as fair.
Before attending the said lecture series, more than half of the respondents on both
sessions declared that they had good knowledge of the topic already while 22 of
them had fair understanding about it. After the course, a huge majority of them
learned a lot from the discussion and believed that they can apply the new
knowledge, technique and skills learned to their present job. Regarding the venue, a
total of 82 respondents considered it as outstanding, 48 saw it as good and only 3
rated it as fair. With regards to the hand outs, the opinion of the participants was
varied and scattered; few didnt even leave a rating. This was probably because
giving of hand outs was not required or even emphasized by the department. Lastly,
just under 50% of the morning participants gave an outstanding rating on the time
allotment while just over 50% of the afternoon respondents rated it as good.
To conclude, an overwhelming majority believed that the lecture series was
outstanding, making it a successful one.
