he Tories know that if they are to force through five

more years of austerity, they have to take out their
biggest potential source of oppositionthe trade
union movement.
Thats why they want new and even more brutal
anti-union laws. But we can fight back and win. The
trade union movement needs to go all out to oppose
the Trade Union Bill. We need a massive turnout on
the TUC protest at Parliament on 2 November.
But there also needs to be a debate now about our
response if these new laws are passed. Will our unions
be prepared to break the laws before they are used to
break our ability to resist?
This new pamphlet addresses the key arguments,
looks at the history of anti-union leglislation, and
argues for a strategy to resist the latest attacks.
