Parking Sites
PROBLEMS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Metro Park n Ride:

Total number of built bays is 80, out of which 50 are used and 30 are not in use.
Total numbers of bays which are unmarked are 100. The parking lot is more than
enough to handle large number of vehicles at a time.
No such encroachment by any shop or any other activity because this site is along the
metro bus corridor.
Only 6-8 vehicles are parked by metro bus staff and policemen without token.
Total numbers of bay used by parked vehicle during peak hour are 160-175.
The length of the corridor where vehicles are being parked is 110ft for bikes and 80ft for
cars.

NADRA Office:
Total numbers of bay are 45 which all are used at peak hour.
10-12 vehicles are parked by staff of the NADRA office and shopkeepers. Number of
encroaching vehicles increases as the visitors of the shops increases at different times of
a day.
Almost 20ft of area is encroached by these vehicles.
Problem can be solved by if the parking lot is cordoned and no irrelevant vehicle is
allowed to park in the lot.
Number of vehicles parked on a busy day at the site is 210-230.
The length of the parking lot is 40ft.

HBL Shahdara:
Total numbers of bay are 18 which all are used at peak hour.
6-8 vehicles (both bikes and cars) are parked by staff of the HBL. Bank security does not
allow the parking staff to increase the bays. They are just allowed to park all the vehicles
in just a single row.
Once or twice a month bank does not allow parking operation due to meeting and the
whole parking area is used by the officials who are coming for the meeting
Almost 20ft of area is encroached by these vehicles.
Problem can be solved if the parking lot has separate space for the parking of staff and t
one more row of parking bays are allowed by the Bank.
Number of vehicles parked on a busy day at the site is 70.
The length of the parking lot is 40ft.

NBP Shahdara:
Total numbers of bay are 20 which all are used at peak hour.
Bank security does not allow the parking staff to increase the bays. They are just
allowed to park all the vehicles in just a single row.
Bank has cordoned a large area for its employees and does not allow parking over there.
Almost 20ft of area is encroached by the bank staff for its staff members.
Problem can be solved if the parking lot has separate space for the parking of staff and
one more row of parking bays are allowed by the Bank.
Number of vehicles parked on a busy day at the site is 63.
The length of the parking lot is 40ft.

Other problems:
Parking operation was cut off tomorrow at 1 PM at HBL shahdara due to shortages of
booklets.
Due to some personal issue worker was not available at NBP shahdara after 2PM.
