PREFACE

The MBA program is a well-structured and integrated course of business studies. The
objectives of MBA healthcare management are to introduce students to the health care field
and management challenges. It also provides students with a basic understanding of the
following areas in healthcare: administration; public policy and law; economics and the role
of physicians in healthcare; healthcare information systems and patients safety and quality.
In this context, the students are equipped with a strong theoretical base of functional skills
and also the capability to adapt and assimilate those skills in various management scenarios.
But a holistic comprehension of the study is possible only when the students gain practical
knowledge and get in touch with professional way of working. Therefore, towards the
practical fulfilment of the MBA, healthcare management course, the students are required to
undertake a one and half month internship on the real- life problems in healthcare
organization.
I got an opportunity to work on my thesis in Swagat hospital and research centre a

for employees and patients in the radiology department of Swagat hospital and

Learning theoretically and practically is the best knowledge and experience which is
needed in todays competitive world.
