1 Introduccin
Los principios del modelo de simulacin TRANSYT han sido descritos en
Robertson, D.I. (1969), posteriormente, la experiencia de los usuarios
de la herramienta computacional ha sugerido diversas mejoras las
cuales han sido incorporadas en versiones posteriores del programa
original, llegando en la actualidad a la undcima versin. En este
documento se sintetizan los aspectos ms importantes del Manual
TRANSYT abarcando las caractersticas de las versiones 8, 8S, 9 10 y
11.
TRANSYT permite simular y optimizar una red vial urbana, mediante la
modificacin de la programacin de los semforos de dicha red. Es decir,
permite encontrar la programacin de las intersecciones semaforizadas
de una red de forma que al coordinar estas se logre reducir al mnimo el
consumo de recursos.
La funcin objetivo que minimiza TRANSYT se denomina ndice de
Rendimiento (Performance Index) o IR, el cual consiste en una
combinacin lineal de Demoras y Detenciones con la estructura
siguiente:

Se calcula dependiendo de la velocidad (V) con A, B y C como
parmetros.

directamente del parmetro D [ litros / veq-hr ] multiplicado por

3.- Consumo de combustible por detenciones, considerado como el
efecto de frenar y acelerar para alcanzar la velocidad promedio. Se
obtiene en litros / 100 veq-Km mediante la siguiente forma
funcional:

Se calcula dependiendo de la velocidad (V) con E como parmetro.
Existe diferencia entre las versiones 8 a 11 del modelo en lo que
respecta a los parmetros por defecto del modelo de consumo de

permitir apreciar la forma de trabajar con TRANSYT.
