Surely enough, she lives up to her nickname Amping,

which means “care” in the Visayan dialect. Without fail,
she could clear overcast skies with her infectious smile and
child-like laughter. To say that Amping is thoughtful is an
understatement. She’s one of those gifted few who can
remember people’s birthdays and greet them on time. Come
to think of it, she could actually pass for Mrs. Santa Claus
with her generosity, being the “friendlies of the friendlies.”
Do not let her petite physique fool you: she is one gutsy
chick who likes driving fast on the highway. Yes, Amping is
a little girl albeit one with an enormous appetite, whether
for a peppery slice of pizza or adventure. Apart from that,
she has a sensible taste for clothes to complement her
good looks. She carries herself well, as if everyday were
a fashion show. And to top it all, she doesn’t pretend to be
perfect, that is why a lot of people say that she is down-to-
earth. She is beautiful inside and out, without trying—but
even that would be an understatement.

They say angels touch lives in very special and unique

ways. Our very own angel did, in the person of “Angel
Alburo”. Adorable as a child, Angel brought sunshine, love,
sweetness and “everything nice” to family and friends.
As the youngest of three siblings, Angel was never a spoiled

brat. Considerate, thoughtful and being kind-hearted are
some of her best traits. She’s so down-to-earth, getting
along with all kinds of people from all walks of life.
From a scraggly kid in shorts and dingy shirts who loves

fruit salad and her mom’s blueberry cheesecake, she
blossomed into a charismatic, vivacious and confident
individual ready for the world.

Timid, shy, reclusive, isolated, bashful—grab your

thesaurus and add to the list. If you really know Ten, then
you must know that none of this is her—she’s a lot more
than that. Good-mannered, caring, God-fearing, and child-
like, those who have delved into her world find that such
people do exist, which is why even such piddling events
like going all the way to the nearest mall just to satisfy her
candy craving become momentous for her companions.
Those who experience her care when they’re sick realize
that not getting well could actually be a very good thing.
Again, only those close enough to get through her modesty
know that her talents don’t end in being the great friend
that she is. Succinctly put, Ten is also a great student. To
top it all off, she even manages to work on her dancing,
which—yep, you guessed it—she’s great at, too. Living
proof of God’s love, both in her being blessed and those
who are blessed by her as well, Ten is just getting started.

coats, stilettos, vintage shirts, micro-minis, or halter tops.
Well, if you’re going to ask me what piece of clothing
would G be, I’d really say she is a little black dress. The
little black dress is a must-have for every girl. Why?
Because it’s just reliable. It goes with anything—it can be
anything. It can be simple, wild or sexy, depending really
on how you pull it off. But whichever way you wear it, it
just never fails to simply make you feel good. It flatters
your figure—it downplays your insecurities and highlights
your good points. It’s a classic, it never goes out of style. It
grows with you—it has been with you since that first date,
that grandiose family dinner, that night out with friends. It
has never let you down.
It lasts.
And it’s definitely one for keeps.

Adidas rubber shoes screeching against the floor. Balls

Dribbling. The crowd cheering their hearts out,
“One Big Fight! One Big Fight!”
The chants become louder as Dino comes out from the

dugout. This year, he has earned the title of King Eagle,
not just because of his supreme basketball skills, but more
importantly because of how he plays the game. He is no
doubt a team player, on and off the court. When he transfers
from one class to the next, he usually risks being late
because for sure he’ll see people he knows, and has to stop
once in awhile to chat with them or to just lend an ear. His
myriad friends attest to what an amazing person he is. Being
an all-around guy, some can’t help but feel that having him
makes the idea of making other close friends, pointless.
Just 10 more seconds left in the game and the score is

tied. Dino gets the ball, shoots a trey and saves the game
once more. And it’s no surprise that he is everyone’s Most
Valuable Player.

As a freshman, I was told that college changes people,

that the years spent in college can be the most memorable
years in one’s life, that friends made in college will most
likely be one’s friends for life.

eyes that have been conditioned, nay, I say programmed,
to see the world in the smallest, most limited, and most
convenient way possible; trained to search only for the
outer spectrum of things.
There are people, though, who challenge convention and

resist tradition. Those who see with eyes that create, and
not merely sense reality. People who see beyond the
outer self.
I am at least but one of the few, the proud, the greatly

confused, one who dares to unlearn, resist, and defy.

have lived your life passionately, then you’ve lived like
Gino. The ever-dependable captain of the Lawn Tennis
team leads by example.
Gino is a person you know you have to meet. People usually
regard him to be a natural clown—someone who is a true
advocate that comedy is simply a funny way of being
serious. But Gino’s not only a barrel of laughs, his sense of
humor is part of his art of leadership, of getting along with
people and of getting things done. Gino’s humor is actually
a saving grace. His humor can make you laugh till you run
out of breath and his seriousness can sweep you off your
feet. Trust me, you will never again meet someone like
him. People say he can be a walking contradiction, in fact
you would never completely figure Gino out completely.
His ever-adaptable attitude is what makes him completely
and utterly refreshing.
And that my friend, is as real as real can get.

Harken! Harken! Dost thou know soft of speech Kathleen?
A great friend through and through, she deserts you not in

times of trouble. She is a much amiable fellow. Intimates
she makes comfortable that they be feeling as if they’re
home for all people she wants to feel special. Sensitive, she
harkens to the feelings of people with her keen appreciative
perception. Yet a kitten she is not for the young tiger has
claws. Her whose features speak of a quiet and timid nature
hides a sarcastic disposition and a moody temperament.
Her tongue can slice but never with bad intent. More often
than not, though she shoots out her claws for due slashing,
what emerges are soft, nippy nails that would never do you
harm. For the four years that she has stayed in this here
castle, judge her not on hearsays but on her person and
merits alone. Though the future be a dark and shadowed
path, Kath will, with perseverance, the good and head on
her shoulders, reach her dreams in time.

How does one describe KC? Many have tried and all have
fallen short. She defines the word ‘unexpected,’ not the
other way around. KC is someone whom you’d always
want to be in your company. Her whimsical disposition is
very infectious; one cannot help but feel elated with her
around. She has the uncanny ability to raise your spirits
when you’re in a depressive funk. No one else does it
better. There are only a few people on Earth who are like
her—one who displays a childlike fascination in the world
without being naive, a girl who knows how to have fun
and be serious at the same time. She’s an eclectic mix of
contradictions, insane sarcasm, and sometimes scathing wit
that only one KC Cabanos can pull off with such effortless
flair. Perhaps when you first meet her, you would wonder
if she’s normal. I tell you now she is not. Then again who
would want to be? The best ones never are.

Mario is one of those guys to whom one has to use the

quotation: “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Why? Simply
because his outer side definitely hides what he truly is
inside. At first, he may seem ‘maangas’ and snobbish but
once you get through his barrier, you will see his funny,
caring and adorable personality. Mario is known to be a
true friend whom anyone can turn to in times of need.
He will definitely be there to back you up even when the
odds seem totally against you. His friends can attest that
Mario is a sucker for the corniest of jokes, and would also
confirm that his laughter is definitely contagious. Ladies
on the other hand describe Mario as the type of guy
they’d like to bring home to mom. Mario does not believe
in conformity; instead, he believes that God put us in this
world of utter enigmas to do one thing—to define one’s
self.

Most people only seem to scratch the surface of who

the real Luigi is. Diagnosed at an early age of having the
disposition of a ticking time bomb, he lived most of his life
with a misunderstood reputation. Yet to the people who
know him the most, he is just about as real as anyone can
get. Unlike the people who bury themselves in fantasy,
Luigi tackles the reality of life’s harshness with a closed-
fist and an unwavering conviction. With his mantra, “Kung
mangyari, di mangyayari” he walks along the path that is his
life, never looking 3 steps forward, seeming as if he’ll never
get to where he wants to go; and yet as others clumsily
stumble and rush through life, slowly but surely, he’ll get
there. He has really matured throughout the years but one
aspect will always remain stagnant—his incredible ability
to elicit a laugh out of the most distressing of situations.
There are those who manage to make a minute impact in
other people’s lives and it is only Luigi who manages to
leave a permanent scar. WOWOWEE!

Chris is not your typical rock star. He defies every

stereotype associated with the double life he leads.
There are many more aspects (and heartwarming quirks)
about him that remain to be seen beyond the limelight.
Put Chris in a room full of strangers, and you’d think they
were pals all along. His gift of gab and sense of humor
are foolproof antidotes to any bad day. Wherever he goes,
the kid in him is magnetically lured to toy stores, movies,
and music shops. You’d think band members are hardcore
music enthusiasts, but surprisingly, he’s a mainstream guy.
Hungry? Hang out with him, and get all the chocolates you
want, because he’s allergic to practically everything! A
hypochondriac, Chris thinks that the littlest pain will have
him confined in a hospital! But peculiarities aside, Chris is
the perfect companion who listens and hears you out. He’s
one of those rare finds who can make any day special just
by being there. Time runs fast when you’re with a person
like Christopher, because you know that you’ll never meet
one as thoughtful or as sweet.

“Caste” or “Mikey” as his friends fondly call him, is the

embodiment of our youth. His boyish charm and casual
confidence make him absolutely irresistible to women
while his mischievous nature and rock-solid loyalty make
him one of the best friends a guy could have. A caring
brother, a thoughtful son, a versatile and diehard athlete,
a wacky teammate, a prayerful student and a deep
conversationalist comprise a mere iota of this guy’s unique
personality.
This existentialist will always go out of his way to make

Johann has committed himself to big responsibilities—

as a companion, a son, a brother and an org president.
These are tough jobs, but with these, his big ambitions
arise—from setting up a really nice car, becoming a
successful businessman up to building a foundation for the
marginalized. With his “big brains,” his big faith in God, and
most important, his big heart (showing the love he has to
offer a person), his achievement of making the urban poor
children happy and hopeful is driven by his passion which

this guy. You can make stuff up & laugh at each other’s
corniness. You can buy “taho” and talk about weird dreams
or philosophize about anything & you’d have a swell time.
Jep has always been the one to surprise. Despite his

tendency to clown around, there is a side of him people
don’t immediately recognize. His many talents are hidden
behind a humble exterior and his strong opinions come
after those who impatiently want to speak first. He also
has incredible determination, whether it’s to collect every
wave of LOTR figures, or to surpass his or other people’s
expectations. Jep also always has someone to wave at.
He’d be waving half the time he’s walking. That’s how
many friends this guy has. Probably won them over with
all of those jokes!

A lot of times, Kats looks cool and calm. You actually find it
hard to believe her when she says, “Ang init! Pinapawisan
ako.” because somehow, she still looks clean and unruffled!
When you’re with Kats, you’d feel just as relaxed as she is.
Even though she may look shy and seem untalkative, to
tell you the truth, she is both. She is comfortable to talk to
and to be around. When she starts laughing, everyone else
ends up cracking up until their sides hurt. Also, when you’re
with her, you can be honest and talk about the simplest,
most insignificant thing, and you would have pretty long
conversations about it. She is funny even when she’s not
trying to be funny. She has a spontaneous and amusing
sense of humor. You seldom see her angry and she doesn’t
hold a grudge for minor faults that people might have done.
Also, no matter how busy she may be, she still finds the
time to go out on gimmicks with her friends. She’s sweet,
thoughtful and is ready if ever anyone needs her help.

Ray is a radiant beam of energy, never running out of

stories to tell, squeaky sounds to make, and comforting
hugs to offer. With his Judo background and boyish
charm, he sweeps girls off their feet and steals their hearts
with flattering comments and the most unusual pick up
lines. His smooth and graceful moves entice observers
as he makes arnis sticks dance to the pulse of his soul.
He mastered a gift that fellow students envy—how to
sleep in class and not get caught, and even if he was, he
is still able to answer the teacher’s question, buying him
more time to doze off. If not asleep, he is busy doodling
in his notebook—an outlet of his creativity, which is best
seen during the Christmas season as he single-handedly
decorates his house. Once exhausted, he retires to
strumming his guitar, experimenting with songs he has
never heard. The ever reliable and helpful Ray delights
in the happiness of others and continues to spoil those
closest to him with their favorite comfort food. We love

This guy is the epitome of the word chickboy although

it does not necessarily mean that he is a chick magnet.
There is a distinction between a chickboy and a chick
magnet. Anyway, this guy has a reputation of chasing girls
in every school and he always asks if there are pretty girls
in every place we hang out. But it seems that he has a
favorite hunting ground for girls: in the University of Santo
Tomas. He had three girlfriends in UST, the most so far.
Despite these glaring evidences, he always denies the fact
that he is a chickboy. But the good thing about him is that
he never “two-timed” (sorry for the term) and he is also
a very dependable friend that you can count on in times
of trouble. You just text or call him and he will always be
there in the nick of time even though he is very busy. This
guy has a down side: his temper. He easily get irritated.
He admits it. But he is slowly cleaning up his act. And
before we forget, this guy loves to sing in videokes. We are
wondering: is that his way of charming girls?

Macho ‘no? Then someone cracked a joke and came out
with a contagious high-pitched laugh that possibly may
not stop. Gevy is a fusion of reality and magic. Game for
anything. He’s always ready for intellectual conversations
or Tagalog movie marathons. Spunk, flair and passion all
rolled into one. The innocent smile is but a disguise of
his mass energy for an all-night dancing or even superb
renditions of OPM love songs. Thoughtful, sweet, God-
fearing and an ultimate hottie, every princess is conjuring
enchanted potions and magic tricks to win his attention.
Yet he will not choose any princess; for he can only be
captivated by a goddess who can cast magic into reality.

We don’t know how she does it, but through it all—the

pile of schoolwork, the many orgs and extracurricular
activities, and trips abroad every sem—Monicca keeps
her cool, maintains good grades and still has time to party.
This girl will not be seen around school without 3 things:
a great matching-from-head-to-toe outfit, that smile, and
the owner of her name’s extra C. Every bit of Mon is truly
praiseworthy, from her PR skills and writing ability, to her
poise, fashion sense, and great body. Though she seems
shy at first, Monicca is the easiest person to get along with.
She’s the sweetest (birthday cards for everybody), wittiest
(our dealer of nasty comebacks), and most organized too
(will die without her planner). But Mon isn’t just about looks
and personality. She has the brains to match all this. Super
hardworking and responsible, she was the perfect Block
Rep for D2 indeed. Monicca, the perfect example of a true
Filipina beauty, is definitely as unique as her name and as
genuine as her smile.

extent of how she makes sure everyone around her receives
what he/she is due. Though we say she’s responsible

If a name speaks for itself, this name speaks volumes.

Marian Joy Rapido Eijansantos has been strong even before
she entered Ateneo, and her faith influenced her to become
who she is. Growing up with this amazing, young lady is
an experience you can write an epic with. She has been
the epitome of care and humanity although hard times
have brought these traits down. Her versatility has been
remarkable, for she bends as far back to the extremes, and
recoils towards the conventional. Her external appearance
is worlds apart from what she is capable of. Her passion
fuels her, and she lives to serve and to care for so many
and yet still finds time to enjoy life with her friends and
loved ones. What she has gone through can make a mere
human crumble down to his knees and yet she still stands,
chin held high, proud that she has made it. She lives to
love and truly loves to live, and this is what drives her to
make everything around her absolutely extraordinary. Her
steadfast faith is what made her to be who she is.

Contrast. Without effort, he creates contrast in his

background. In a sea of white, he swims in black. In silence
and reverence, he shouts in contempt. On a smooth surface,
he peals and rusts. Without effort, he creates dichotomies
not because he craves to stand out, but just because of
mere being. In contrast, he finds himself as well as others
ironically.
Fluid. Situated in a world constructed through discursive

and non-discursive mechanisms, he opts to move fluidly
until he finds a suitable basin for him. Then again, he will
always remain fluid, not because he values the freedom
in fluidity, but because he understands that change is the

Freddie Zachary O. Estoesta

If one person can be both black and white, that person

would be Zach. On the one hand, he’s a self-confessed
war-freak; one cannot engage in discourse with him
without talking about history, and on the other, he can be
the most thoughtful person. This guy also claims to know
a lot about the human body—just ask his teammates!
Whenever they complain of an injury, he would try to
diagnose them on the spot. Talk about being an expert!
The best description for Zach would be “passionate.” Once
he wants something, he makes sure he gets it. A perfect
example would be his recovery from an injury. After just
a little over a year, he can dunk harder than ever before.
While on-court you might see his elbow suddenly appear
from nowhere, off-court, he’s a real sweetie! If you see him
along the corridor and he says hi but doesn’t introduce you
to the person he’s with, he probably doesn’t remember
your name. He really has a problem with names, but the
important thing is he remembers faces—especially those
who count.

Imagine seeing along the hallways a girl who is no doubt

a rocker chick. Yes, she may seem intimidating at first
glance, but she has her way of letting people get to know
her better. Abby was a vocalist for the ex-band Abyss.
(And no, the band did not name themselves after her.)
Behind the daunting physique, Abby’s character is filled
with laughter and stories that you would definitely miss
hearing when she’s not around. Like a firecracker newly
lit, her personality is explosive! She’s quiet at one minute
then loud, fun and lively the next. She exudes the grace
of a princess and the warmth of a child. Her pleasing
personality emanates from her ability to make you feel
at ease in her company. She can stand out in a crowd,
which truly proves how exceptional she is. There’s no dull
moment when she’s around. Fate itself must have destined
it, for something exciting always comes up, filling you with
memories of Abby that you will always cherish. She’s one
hot chick that you’ll surely regret not knowing.

I knew Charvic. She is a force of nature – impulsive and
unpredictable. You’d be swept by her energetic presence
from just making “tambay” to totally spontaneous
gimmicks. Aside from her wacky sense of adventure, she
can make you laugh until you vomit your soul. Nobody
knows where she gets “hirits” that would make even
the dullest person lash out in laughter. A true stand-up
comedienne at heart, her biggest issue is deciding when
she’d let the other person talk. She genuinely cares for
her friends, however, and will always make time to listen
to whatever story they want to share. Charvic exudes
confidence and a certain irresistible charm that endears
her to many. She inspires honesty from whoever she talks

you just love to hate her. In art class, the Pam would be

exam is but a word. Not really caring, but still excelling.

person you’ll ever meet. It’s amazing how he remains to
be so optimistic and carefree despite all the stress and
hectic days in school. You can run to him for absolutely
anything because for some reason, he always knows
how to make you smile. One thing about him is that he

experience. First, see how her eyes light up when she hears

listening to you, when she is in fact a million miles away:

wondering why people never say what they mean and
mean what they say. (Her life doesn’t actually require large
doses of reflective silence; she just has a tendency to make
mountains out of molehills.) Finish telling your joke, and
wait. After five long minutes, she will suddenly burst out
laughing—trust me, it doesn’t matter if she’s heard it all
before. Then, sit back, and wait some more. After another
five minutes, notice her attempting to stifle her giggles.

to roll your eyes. Understand that she’s not really slow; she

A lot of people say Paolo Moran has ‘reached his peak’. This
is because back when he was in high school he was known
as a heartthrob among the girls. His name was heard across
all the popular schools back then. But going back to what

heartthrob days are long gone and our friend Paolo packed
on a few noticeable pounds since then.
But for those of us who really know Pao, we can say that
he will appeal to a lot of people as he grows to be a truly
great person. It’s not everyday that you find a person with
such a noble cause in life. He has started his career—to help
the Filipino people reach their full potential. And with his
dedication, I know for sure that he will achieve his goal that
is to help and give back to the community that helped him

reports revealed that he has a humble heart and lives his

Jomari, better known as Joms, is a Big Bro with a soft heart.

When you see a towering figure in the crowd and the face
with a smile from ear to ear, you’ll immediately know it’s
him. But beneath his gigantic build and intimidating looks lies
a fuzzy interior reminiscent of a giant teddy bear. He is very
vibrant and cheerful; he loves to enjoy life and knows how to
live it fully. He never gets tired of telling stories and laughing
out loud until everyone gets tummy aches from laughing
too much. A go-getter, he boldly ventures into things he
loves doing. Aside from school, he keeps himself busy
training for the swimming team, attending acting classes
and volunteering for various school activities like OrSem and
ACP, giving his all in everything he does.
Aside from being a fun-loving person, he’s also very
considerate towards his friends. He’s there when you need
something, or even just to talk about nonsensical stuff.
A true dreamer and a doer, Joms will surely go a long way.

all. Most of the time Nikki isn’t wearing her contacts so be
ready for a seemingly snobbish response whenever you
greet her. But be warned, get ready for a homecoming
parade because once she spots even that small gesture
of yours at SEC C, all her smiles and excitement will come
alive (even if you’ve seen each other just three minutes
ago). She won’t even have the time to breathe once she
tells all her lovable stories, very funny thoughts and weird
encounters from places only she would know. She’s truly
an imaginative girl who would share her narratives (fiction
and non-fiction) to people who would earnestly embrace
them. Her personality brightly radiates the love she has for
everything. Even a fleeting conversation with her seems
to be magical, entrancing and idyllic. So the next time you
see this girl walking your way, give her a wave and you’ll
see what I mean. It’s definitely worth the effort, though
she may or may not respond (unintentionally).

whose desk is perpetually buried under piles of books and
papers. Forced by the need to be clean, she learns how
to be “domesticated” and finds that scrubbing the tub ‘til
it’s spotless is a great way to let out steam. Otherwise,
hitting the wheel with her arnis stick is always the more
aggressive option. Her passion lies in the arts, being gifted
with a keen eye for the beauty of the earth. She takes
pleasure in watching the acacia leaves trickle like raindrops
at Faura, taking a stroll to Meron Lagoon and being one
with the earth as she crawls through the ditches of SEC
Field. Her innocence unveiled as she once witnessed the
beating of a peanut vendor, whom she rightly defended—
the one moment she says when she felt most human.

than count, a writer until he found working outside is
better than a desk job, and a reporter until he saw the
magnificent things a camera can do. This adventurous
soldier and keen-eyed photojournalist (even if he is
6.00 nearsighted) is game to explore the outside world,
no matter how dangerous or dirty, to execute difficult
methods to get a job done, even to immerse himself in the
real world to understand it. Mysterious from the outside
but merry once you know him, he still includes in his
schedule beer drinking, rock music, and friends. Romantic
too—once asked if would he still love the person he truly

who waits for his mom after volleyball practice only to get

you that behind his Stifler-like persona lies a very proper,
respectable, and determined individual, which makes him
a great leader. Beyond all the teasing, jokes and annoying
laugh is a witty and sharp mind that helps him think on his
feet at all times. So whether the race is on the oval or not,
Robin, equipped with his passion and perseverance, will
most certainly “go the distance.”

He exudes an aura of calmness and sincerity that gives
people the feeling that he is indeed a trustworthy and
dependable person. He has this gift of knowing the exact
words to say to make one feel better and delivers them so
comically that one could not help being fascinated by such
an upbeat personality. Run to him for advice, and you won’t
walk away dismayed. And although he may not have the
perfect relationships, moreover a perfect self, he knows
he has a God in whom he can trust. Though seasons may

to also notice, with eyes keen enough to sift through the
lightest of drizzles, things that would draw her warmest
smiles—enough to dispel the apparent dreariness
perennially felt in an unforgiving world. Everyone stands
in sheer enchantment as each day with her unravels yet
another surprise. Her friendship is a grace, as elusive as
sepia-colored dreams, that everyone fears of losing or
that anyone would dread not being fortunate enough to
experience. Melancholy, for her friends, moves in orbits of
her absence. Without her, life would have been so shallow,
endless, and unforgiving.

monk, or “Popey.” She worries endlessly about people she
cares about, but doesn’t hesitate to chew out those who
cross the line. “Mess up your lives if you have to,” says
this self-confessed workaholic, “but don’t mess it up for
anyone else.”
She has had a long love-affair with reading. When
inspired, she writes up a storm, and wrestles with words
and sentences even when inspiration flees. Upbeat,
loquacious, occasionally brilliant, she focuses her energies
on the people and things she loves the most.

within him that many will find hard to comprehend, mainly
because of the easygoing image he always projects. Yet,
despite all these contradictions, his friends would not have
him changed. After all, it is those unexpected, mysterious

been the burst of inexhaustible color in their lives.

Jobelle is an anomaly to her generation. How could

someone who grew up in the nineties have a strong
fondness for bands that came up when she was still in a
baby’s carriage screaming for milk? Ask Jobelle, whose
variegated musical tastes lean on bands so odd and old that
perhaps your fathers won’t even appreciate—The Smiths,
Joy Division, and X-mal Deutschland. How could someone
with a penchant for songs that border on the gloomy and
almost suicidal have a happy disposition? Even her sense
of humor is at times hard to understand: she ended up
laughing one evening when a huge bird suddenly slapped
her face while she was jogging. Her peculiarities do not
cause eyebrows to skyrocket, yet often cause fascination
and entertainment. It’s quite a task to define Jobelle. One
could be better off describing sepia sunsets—a hint of
sadness, a dash of serenity, some gloomy shade, some
lurking vibrancy—which almost encapsulate her. Jobelle
is a thing of the past, but we are fortunate to have her
here.

reverie, comes to ponder about the word “friend” and the
burdens such a label might carry. However, few in this
world live up to that title. This is one such person. At the

any doubt and it is that ‘sharing’ that multiplies the joys

Why-sa has touched so much lives, I doubt she’s aware of
all the good she’s done and been for so much people. She’s
one of the best friends a person could ever have—she’s not
that easy to understand though—she’s quixotic, brilliant,
and just different from everyone else. She’s intense,
passionate, thoughtful and perceptive. She loves her music
and her art. On a lighter note, she is always willing to listen

wearing tricks spell never a blue day for those around
him. As a friend, he is like everyone’s girlfriend; always
matampuhin and sweet. His hugs are always ready for
the rainiest days, and his corny jokes for the brightest
summers. But this certified heartthrob also reserves his
serious side for when it counts, such as his schoolwork,
his band, his girlfriend, and his photography. His manly
physique betrays the little boy residing beneath his double
shirts, washboard abs, and multi-colored hats. There is still
a boy who loves the simple things, wants everyone to be
happy, and lives everyday with two important accessories:

He is walking on a beach that never seems to end. Perhaps

he just likes the feel of sand on his feet, or the comfort
of waves lapping at his toes. He picks up shells strewn
carelessly along the shore; shards of a rainbow slung too
low, constancy and concreteness in the palm of his hand.
There is peace here somewhere, perhaps in the spaces
between his skin and the gifts of the sea.
Still, rumor of what is to come reaches him—an engine

sputters to life in the distance, dissonant against the
crashing of the waves.
You have changed, says the sea, why should I stay the
same? Clenching his fist, the gifts of the sea—family,
friends, friends who have become family—placate his
loss. Holding them tighter, he has finally learned to let go.
He gets on the waiting bus. Already the waves whisper:

‘Til we meet again, ‘til we meet again.

If you want a real friend, one who will be honest with you
and never fake it, then you definitely want Kit to be on
your side. A girl with a dozen different names, Kit will
be most remembered for her super neat and complete
notes that everyone loves to borrow. We all admire her
study habits and responsibility. But she has a fun side, of
course. Kit is game for anything, from band gigs to parties
to eating fish ball in UP. She’s so fun to be with, you’ll
never be bored with her crazy comments and hilarious
stories. With that big smile of hers, she can surely make
you feel appreciated at any time of the day. Even if she’s
harassed with all her responsibilities and schoolwork,
she’ll always take time to listen to your problems, stories
and jokes—even if they’re corny, she’ll always belch out
that infectious laugh of hers. Since our freshman year, I’m
proud to say that she has truly grown into an independent
woman, a skillful student, a responsible daughter, a God-
fearing person and most of all, a true friend.

Arlo is the most immature, childish and gullible person

alive, or so you would think. On the outside, this is what
he shows because he enjoys entertaining and making
people laugh. There are no dull moments whenever Arlo’s
around. He never fails to make everyone laugh, even
without trying. How he comes up with those hilarious
jokes and crazy antics everyday is just amazing. But once
you get to know what he is really like, you will find out
that he is responsible and very serious with his life and
his goals. When it comes to production, we all want him
on our team. The videos he directed, edited and starred
in are so remarkable, that it is not surprising that he got
As in every production class he took. This guy’s also the
easiest person to get along with. He’s so simple, unselfish
and willing to do anything. From photography to sports,
from acting to clowning around, Arlo excels because of
the passion he puts in everything.

man, but one will discover that there is still so much more.
While his stance and his walk show a man of passion and
dignity, it still exudes a sense of invitation to whomever
he walks up to. His quick and infectious laugh vibrates

know that he will laugh with you all the way. He will
readily listen to life lessons and philosophy and advices
and strange facts; the reason why his words illustrate a
man of practical knowledge. What he shares is just as
interesting, for they prove his fascinating experiences as a
boy and as a man. His thoughts and ideas are brilliant, for it
reflects a person that draws conclusions from well-drawn
reasoning. Spontaneity and approachability are only a few
components of his charm—the same charm he naturally
uses to gain friends for a lifetime. He may have spent only
four years in college, but the times spent with him, as a
friend and as a confidante, are worth more than that.

na hindi kaya ng iba. Dahil dito, nagiging inspirasyon siya
ng kapwa niya para abutin nila ang mga gusto nila. Ang
motto niya sa buhay: Bahala na. Epektibo raw kasi ito sa
paggawa ng kahit ano. Hinaharap naman niya lagi ang
mga bagay na ibinibigay sa kanya ng Diyos. Sa dinami-
dami ng hilig niya, lagi pa rin siyang nariyan. Kahit ano
gagawin niya para sa mga minamahal niya. Minsan nga
lang, nasisiraan din siya ng bait (kadalasan kapag bilog ang
buwan). Pero yun din ang kakaiba at kamahal-mahal sa
kanya. Pag tanda niya, malaki at malayo ang mararating
niya. Pero sa ngayon, bahala na.

The moment you lay eyes on this girl, you’d realize that
she’s nothing but special – she’s just in her flip-flops, skirt,
wearing a radiant smile, water bottle at hand. Yet Eyao
has the power to transform each day into a special one.
Ingenious. Parking at faculty slots, constantly not wearing
her ID, getting in classes that are already full. Nobody else
manages to get away with everything just like she does.
Gregarious. With her bright and cheerful disposition, Elaine
could easily make anybody smile and stare at her with
amazement. It is a wonder how she could effortlessly strike
a conversation with anyone at any given time. Meticulous.
Whether she is taking down notes or simply chatting with
a friend, this girl absolutely won’t miss out on any detail.
But there’s more to Elaine than just pure charm and wit; she
also owns a great big heart to match her looks. It is proven
that she would go out of her way just to make other people
happy. They say nobody is perfect, but Elaine surely does
come close.

This person is very hard to miss, not only because of his

glowing white skin, but also because of the happiness he

an endless supply of energy! On the other hand, Kerwin is

business. He is also perceived to be a very well-rounded
person because he has overcome a lot of trials in the real
world. Because of this, Kerwin has earned the respect of
his peers. The most remarkable thing about Kerwin is his
loyalty to his friends. A very loving person, he is always
there for anyone who needs him no matter what. He takes
utmost care of the people dear to him. With Kerwin, what
you see is what you get—no pretenses.
