Dear Friends,
Our REGULAR LUNCH SCHEDULE resumes this month with lunches served on Mondays through
Thursdays at 1:15 pm. Friday lunches are still at 12 pm.
Our Fresh Bites cooking and tasting nutrition class starts off the month on Wednesday, September
2nd at 2 pm. Join Erica Vinas, a registered dietician and certified diabetes educator, for this fun foray
into food preparation. Ruthys Wednesday exercise class will be held on TUESDAY that week.
Moriah will be OPEN for an early lunch at 12 pm on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th. Darius
Kaufmann returns (remember him from our bagpipe concert?) with his fascinating Music of the
Earth show, featuring a wide variety of ancient and indigenous world instruments.
This months Chair Massage will be held Tuesday, September 8th at 1:50 pm. Register in the office
to secure your appointment slot.
We have a very exciting pre-Rosh Hashana trip planned. Did you know that the rooftop of the
Waldorf Astoria Hotel houses an apiary? Yes, thats right! All the honey served in the hotel is
cultivated right there with bees who gather their nectar from nearby Central Park. We will be getting
an exclusive tour of these hives on Wednesday, September 9th. See attached flyer for details and
sign up early as space is very limited.
Moriah will be CLOSED for the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashana on Monday & Tuesday, September
14th-15th. We will be open for a PICKUP LUNCH on Wednesday, September 16th at 1:15 pm.
Celebrate our September birthdays at our monthly Birthday Party on Thursday, September 17th. If
you are a September baby, come to the office early to be photographed for the slideshow!
Monday morning Zumba has been so popular that we will be offering it on selected afternoons this
fall. Join the group on Monday, September 21st at 2 pm.
Our Book Club will be discussing The Perfume Collector on Monday, September 21st at 2 pm. Join
the group and share your valuable opinion with others.
Registration for our Annual Free Flu Shot Day begins on Monday, September 21st. We will be
administering the flu shots on Tuesday, October 20th, but advance registration is required.
Moriah will serve an EARLY LUNCH at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22nd and will be CLOSED
on Wednesday September 23rd for the Jewish fast of Yom Kippur.
Moriah will be CLOSED on Monday & Tuesday, September 28th - 29th for the Jewish holiday of
Succos, and will be open for an EARLY LUNCH at 12 pm on Wednesday, September 30th.
Tai Chi Tuesdays are scheduled this month for September 1st and 8th at 11:30 am. Beginning
Computers Class is scheduled this month on Tuesday, September 8th at 2 pm.
