Discussion
Group
Come join the group on Monday, September 21st at 2 pm,
as we discuss Kathleen Tessaros heady novel,

The Perfume Collector

A remarkable novel about secrets, desire,

memory, passion, and possibility.
Newlywed Grace Monroe doesnt fit anyones
expectations of a successful 1950s London
socialite, least of all her own. When she receives
an unexpected inheritance from a complete
stranger, Madame Eva dOrsey, Grace is drawn to
uncover the identity of her mysterious
benefactor.
Weaving through the decades, from 1920s New
York to Monte Carlo, Paris, and London, the
story Grace uncovers is that of an extraordinary
women who inspired one of Pariss greatest
perfumers. Immortalized in three evocative
perfumes, Eva dOrseys history will transform
Graces life forever, forcing her to choose
between the woman she is expected to be and
the person she really is.
The Perfume Collector explores the complex and obsessive love between muse and
artist, and the tremendous power of memory and scent.
Register in the office and receive a library copy of
this New York Times Bestseller for advance
reading.

It's September, and a calmness and a sweetness seem to fall

Over everything that's living, just as though it hears the call
Of Old Winter, trudging slowly, with his pack of ice and snow,
In the distance over yonder, and it somehow seems as though
Every tiny little blossom wants to look its very best
When the frost shall bite its petals and it droops away to rest.
It's September! It's the fullness and the ripeness of the year;
All the work of earth is finished, or the final tasks are near,
But there is no doleful wailing; every living thing that grows,
For the end that is approaching wears the finest garb it knows.
And I pray that I may proudly hold my head up high and smile
When I come to my September in the golden afterwhile.
