Optimization of GSM Network

Analysis of various parameters such as RX Level, RX Quality, C/I, C/A, SQI & FER.
KPIs achieved = TCH drop < 2%, Signaling drop < 0.8 %, Handover success rate >
98 %, TCH block rate < 2%, SDCCH block rate < 1%.

Pro active radio network optimization by monitoring KPI statistics e.g. SDCCH blocking,
SDCCH drop, TCH assignment, TCH blocking, TCH drop, HO success rate etc on day to
day basis and utilizing the resources to meet the standards.

Suspecting Hardware faults & rectifications by analyzing alarm logs.

Traffic Optimizations by parameters and physical changes.

Optimizing RF Related Parameters such as Neighbor list, HSN, BCCH, BSIC, MAIO and
frequency retuning. Frequency/HSN changes to reduce interference, addition of missing
Neighbors & BSIC changes in order to enhance main routes performance.

Co-channel (C/I) and Adjacent channel (C/A) Interference analysis.
Analysis of Drive Test files for taking care of Interference in the Network, which involves analysis
of Rx quality, Rx Level etc, re-planning of RF parameters in problematic areas accordingly.
Checking proper Handovers (Intra-cell, Inter-cell).
Experience on working in GSM 900 & GSM 1800, 2100 bands.
Auditing of new sites and verifying the hardware, tilt, Antenna height and Orientation according
to the planning database.
