(20% paper, 10% presentation) Due date: September 9, 2014 Using the case Poloroid Sunglasses (copy to be given to you in class), write a 1500 word group case report including the following: 1. Conduct a SWOT analysis on the case. 2. Conduct a PEST analysis on this case. 3. A case seldom involves one clear-cut problem. Your task is to: (1) Determine the symptoms that require immediate attention, and (2) Identify the fundamental issues and causal factors giving rise to the symptoms. Its important to separate the immediate problems from their more basic sources. How you define a problem determines how you go about solving it. Identify the single overall problem or opportunity for this case. Try to summarize your problem or opportunity statement as a single sentence. Then state the symptoms in the case that support your overall problem statement. These symptoms should appear as small issues on their own, but could be classified into your overall large problem statement. 4. Answer questions 1, 2 and 3 at the back of the case. (Page 506-507) 5. Given your SWOT, PEST, problem/symptom analysis in addition to your in depth analysis conducted while answering questions 1-3 above, if you had a 15 minute meeting with the CEO of the company, what would be your final recommendations to him/her to address the situation explained in the case? How should they approach international expansion including markets in South America and Asia? IMPORTANT NOTES: Please post on Moodle an electronic version of your case report by the due date. An assignment has been created for this purpose. Please NAME YOUR FILE AS FOLLOWS: last name of each group member group Case.doc (example: Charleson_Wong_Wilson_Group_Case.doc) It is important that you show a clear understanding of the industry and the situation. Use wisely the limited number of words that you have available. I am looking for a deep analysis and a concise report.
