SAINIK WELFARE CARD MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Issue of Sainik Welfare Card is free to all applicants applying for the same till 30 Apr 2010

It is mandatory to be a Sainik Welfare Card Holder to avail the following benefits:

1. Mandatory for applying in Local Demand Survey wef 15 Aug 2010.

2. Mandatory for applying for any residential unit in any scheme after 15 Aug 2010.

3. Eligibility to apply for the more than one residential unit in any residential scheme.

4. Applicant can authorise his married children to become members of housing schemes without any
restrictions or paper work. The applicant has to just quote the Sainik Welfare Card Number and
authorise his children to independently join the LDS or Booking for residential unit.

5. Apply for Rs 5000/- scholarships (one time) for children of the applicant member who have scored 95%
or above as aggregate in class XII board exam of any recognised board of Senior Secondary
Examination in India.

6. Exempted from payment of Transfer Fee for all residential projects/schemes of SWO-INDIA.

7. Eligibility to win prizes in lucky draws to be held every year. Card holder will be considered for draw
every year.

8. In case of unfortunate demise due to Battle Casualty or Physical Casualty (only attributed to military
service in case of later), a one-time lump sum financial assistance payment will be of Rs 50,000/- and Rs
25,000/- respectively to be payable to the nominee as mentioned on the WELFARE CARD and is
subject to verification from the CO/OC of the unit.

9. In case of unfortunate demise the card holder who had applied for any residential unit in any of the
SWO-INDIA residential schemes and he/she had paid minimum 30% payment as per the schedule, and
has not been issued the Possession letter by SWO-INDIA , the residential unit will be transferred to his
nominee and all balance payments of that residential unit will be waived off.

10. Rebate(one-time) on purchase of residential plot for Gallantry Award winners :

a. PVC/Ashok Chakra - 100% rebate on the Plot of 110 sq yards in


any ongoing scheme at the discretion of
Governing Body
b. MVC/Kirti Chakra - 50% rebate on the Plot of 110 sq yards in any
ongoing scheme at the discretion of
Governing Body.
c. VrC/Shauraya Chakra - 25% rebate on the Plot of 110 sq yards in any
ongoing scheme at the discretion of
Governing Body

This is applicable to recipients of Gallantry Awards after 15 Aug 2009. Registration and all Taxes
(as applicable) to be paid by the recipient

11. One time award of Rs 20,000 to any card holder/his dependent who wins a medal at international level
(i.e. in Commonwealth Games/Asian Games/Olympics)
12. Free Status of Volunteer Social Worker to card holders.

Q. How to Apply for SAINIK WELFARE CARD

A. (a) Download the Application Form For Sainik Welfare Card (CLICK HERE).

(b) Fill all details and attach two recent photographs of SELF and also write Service Number and
name behind the photograph

(c) The form must be signed by the applicant.

(d) Please ensure details of nominee are as per service record to avail full benefits.

(e) The form must be countersigned by any Superior Officer who can verify the
antecedent of the applicant.

Q. What is the CARD MEMBERSHIP FEE and what is its VALIDITY?

A (a) SWO-INDIA SAINIK WELFARE CARD is VALID for 10 years from the
date of issue..

Pl Note:
1. Card Fee is non-refundable
2. In case of loss, duplicate Card Fee Rs 150/- will be charged and the original card will be
BLOCKED.
3. Benevolent Fund policy of SWO-India only permits use of FUNDS for a
National Cause/Crisis as given in the Aims and Objectives of the org.
4. PBORs: Personnel Below Officers Rank amongst the list of beneficiaries.
5. JCOs: Junior Commissioned Officers amongst the list of beneficiaries.
6. Officers: All 1st class Officers amongst the list of beneficiaries
7. Open Category: Any citizen of India who is not a listed eligible beneficiary.

Q. What is the Eligibility for Card Membership?

A. The Eligibility and Priority is as under:

1. Defence Forces Personnel (Serving or Retired).


2. Paramilitary Forces Personnel of BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB,
NSG & Railway Protection Force (Serving or Retired).
3. All other Central Govt. Forces personnel from Coast Guard, DSC,
Police (Central Govt.), National Security Organizations &
Territorial Army etc.
4. Border Roads Organization Personnel (Serving or Retired).
5. Military Engineering Services Personnel (Serving or Retired).
6. NCC Associate Officers (Serving or Retired).
7. Staff Members & Ex-Students of all Military & Sainik Schools in India.
8. State Police forces.
9. Personnel of Merchant Navy & Naval Dockyards (Retired or Serving).
10. Personnel of Ordinance Depots/Factories (Retired or Serving).
11. Civilian staff in Ministry of Defence & External Affairs.
12. Dependents, Widows, War - Widows & Next of Kin of all the above
categories.
