EVlink Parking - EVF1 - EVW1

Group of Charging Stations

The protection devices are located in a cabinet or secondary distribution board close to and at the
outgoing points of connection cables upstream of the charging station.
For more information, refer to the Guide to Designing EVlink Parking Protection and Control Cabinets,
reference DOCA0059FR or DOCA0059EN.

Overcurrent and Insulation Fault Protection

Schneider Electric recommends the following protection devices for an Isc < 10 kA:
Power links:
Each 7 kW single-phase plug and socket-outlet must be individually protected by the following components:
40 A curveD circuit breaker
30 mA type A SI Vigi module
230 V a MNx coil
Each 22 kW three-phase plug and socket-outlet must be individually protected by the following components:
40 A curveD circuit breaker
230 V a MNx coil
40 A type B 4-pole residual current circuit breaker
The plug and socket-outlet MNx control output must be connected to the circuit breaker MNx voltage
release.
Automatic circuit breaker reset systems are prohibited.
230 V control links:
This input must be protected by the following components:
4 A curveD 2-pole circuit breaker
30 mA type A Vigi module
Above an Isc > 10kA, Schneider Electric recommends using Schneider Electric's product compatibility
charts.

Overvoltage Protection
These protective devices complement the surge arresters already in the charging station.
Power links:
Each plug and socket-outlet must be individually protected by a type 2 surge arrester Up = 1.5 kV
(e.g. iQuick PRD40) which provides coordination regardless of the distance between the charging
station and the switchboard.
230 V control links:
This input must be protected by a type 2 surge arrester Up = 1.5 kV (e.g. iQuick PRD40).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure that the surge arrester cartridges are fully inserted before
commissioning the charging station.
For more information about overvoltage protection, refer to the Electrical Installation Manual,
Overvoltage Protection.
