Before:

Check the doctors order.


Determine the prescribed test and other restrictions prior to the

test.
Get the laboratory requisition slip.
Explain to the patients S.O. what the procedure to be done is.
Inform the patients S.O. that this requires a blood sample.
Inform the patients S.O. how the procedure is performed, the
equipment to be used.
