Essence of Yak
We believe that children are intelligent. At a young age, they know what they like
and learn better if the content being taught relates to their interests. This allows a
childs natural love of learning to take over, encourages feelings of competency and
increases the probability of classroom success.
We are fun and special. We believe that instructors make the difference.
Our amazing instructors are more than an intelligent, interesting and globally
aware group of native speakers. They are hard workers on a mission to create a
climate of trust and respect from the childs point of view in a nose to nose, knee
to knee kind of way.
We are an immersion program. We believe there is a right way to aid language
acquisition. When children have to understand to survive (participate) in an
immersion environment, they acquire chunks of useful language. This becomes
even easier when curriculum is presented in a fun, playbased fashion just like in
an Englishonly setting.
