Hello Everyone,
Last weeks special assembly for the presentation of an award for excellence by the
Director General of Education, Sharyn ONeill, certainly left us all feeling very proud of the
Mount Lockyer school and community.
The positive attention to our school continues this Friday when we will be visited by the
Minister for Education, Peter Collier. It certainly is wonderful to have this level of
recognition for the work done by staff, students and families.

Values
Each fortnight we focus on a value that guides students to embrace and demonstrate
qualities that make our school and community the best they can be. Last week a group of
Year 4 girls showed caring, compassion, cooperation, enthusiasm, generosity,
kindness, perseverance, service and unity to raise funds for the RSPCA. The girls
made cupcakes, muffins and biscuits, and raised a great total of $460.00. Congratulations
to the girls and their parents who helped out. The funds raised will be presented to a
representative of the RSPCA at this Thursdays assembly.
Protective Behaviours
We are so lucky to have Liz Grixti doing Protective Behaviours with classes, teaching
children that they are the boss of their bodies. Liz has been asked to do some information
sessions for parents so they can reinforce the messages at home. To get an idea of
numbers and preferred times, please return the tear-off at the bottom of this page.
Assembly
Room 13 will be performing at Thursdays assembly. We hope to see many of you there.
