ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200

Premium marine fuel formulated to meet the 2015 Emission

Control Areas (ECA) sulphur limit and provide performance
benefits, available in the Southampton/UK south coast area via
barge delivery.
ExxonMobil Premium Advanced Fuel Marine
ECA 200 (AFME 200) is part of a new category of
marine fuel specifically designed to comply with the
0.10 per cent ECA sulphur cap and help engineers
safely and efficiently operate their main and
auxiliary engines and boilers.
This advanced fuel oil is formulated using a
proprietary refining process that removes sulphur,
metals and other contaminants. This enables the
fuel to comply with the ECA sulphur cap and also
helps to optimise the performance of engines and
component life.

High viscosity and flashpoint offer safety

and efficiency
The viscosity of ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200 is
comparable to heavy fuel oils (HFOs) enabling
similar storage and handling practices for both fuels
on board marine vessels. Both fuels require
preheating, therefore reducing the risk of thermal
shock to engine components during switchovers to
comply with the ECA sulphur cap. Thermal shock
may result in fuel pump seizures and engine
shutdowns and has the potential to occur when
switching from heated HFO to marine gas oil
(MGO) at ambient temperatures.
The fuel also has a higher flashpoint than MGO and
is therefore less volatile. This makes it safer to use
in boilers as there is a reduced risk of boiler furnace
explosions.
ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200 has excellent
ignition quality and good lubricity.

Fully compatible with ExxonMobil Premium

HDME 50 and MGO
ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200 meets a range of
fuel compatibility tests including the total sediment
accelerated (TSA 10307-2). Results indicate that
ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200 is fully compatible
with ExxonMobil Premium HDME 50 and marine
gas oil (MGO).
While ExxonMobil Premium AFME 200 is a unique
product with advantages over traditional fuel oil, it
also meets and exceeds the ISO 8217:2012 RME
180 specification. Delivery is by a dedicated barge
fleet, which has segregated systems guaranteeing
product integrity while ensuring that ExxonMobil
Premium AFME 200 can be delivered at a high
pump rate similar to HFO.
