A Brief Lesson Plan

Integrating Multiple Intelligences

I. Objectives:
At the end of the class, at least 85% of the students should be able to:
a) identify the verbs of present tense in the song;
b) write a reflection paper about the message of the song using verbs;
and
c) interpret the song using varieties of presentations.

I. Subject Matter:

A. Topic:
a) Main Topic:
Verbs (Present Tense)

A. Reference:
English for a Better World II

B. Materials used:
– Art materials
– Cassette/ CD player
– Copies of the song The Song: Top of the World
by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis

I. Learning Activities:

A. Motivation
○ The teacher lets the students listen to the
song via CD player or Cassette

○ The teacher lets the students identify the verbs in song.

A. Lesson Proper
○ The students are grouped according to what
presentation they want to do. They make a variety
show.

○ They can choose from:


- Role Play
- Symbolizing/ Drawing
- Song Composing
- Slogan Making
- Graph Making (dealing with probabilities and
estimation)
- Group Discussion Reflection
- Global Issues reporting based from the song
- Dance Presentation

○ They practice for a few minutes and perform.

A. Evaluation
The students write a reflection paper about the message of the
song using verbs. They can base their reflections on what they
have presented.

I. Agreement
The students make a love story basing from the song. They are
to use as many verbs in the present tense as possible.
