6. Finally, holding the cable central in the gland, tighten the Outer Nut to compress the Grounding
Spring to secure the armor and the seal to engage the cable jacket. Do not over tighten the
Outer Nut. The Entry Component and Outer Nut do not have to close face to face.
5. Once the resin has cured, loosen the Outer Nut to ensure that the Grounding Spring is not
gripping the cable. Slide the Outer Nut back over the cable, enough to loosen the Armor Spacer
from the Entry Component. Screw the Entry Component into the enclosure. Retighten the Armor
Spacer when the entry component is fully tightened into the enclosure.
Note: For instrumentation cables utilizing shielded cable, individual/overall drain wires,
see Installation Guidance Notes overleaf.
4. Pass the cable through the connector until the armor makes contact with the end stop. If it is
not possible for the insulated conductors to pass through the end stop then it should be removed
so that the armor can make contact with the integral end stop within the entry component. At this
stage unscrew the Outer Nut and slide it back over the cable, enough to have access to
the Armor Spacer. If no access is gained repeat step 2 and trim the outer jacket up to
L plus 10%. Assemble the connector.
This is to ensure the cable cores are together and also to cover
any sharp edges that could potentially tear the Resin Dam during
installation.
3. Electrical tape MUST be wrapped around the tips of the cable cores.

Pack a small amount of compound into the spaces between the conductors and the metal armor. Pass the armor spacer, with or without
the armor end stop (as determined in step 5) over the conductors so that it makes contact with the armor.
Pack the compound into the crutch of the cable, see Fig.3. When present, spread strands of uninsulated grounding conductors and apply
compound between individual strands, then bring strands back together. Apply the compound to a length and diameter not exceeding that
of the compound tube (item 9), see Fig.3.
Pass the compound tube over the conductors, see Fig.3. until the stepped end is fully located with the mating armor spacer, see Fig.4.
Remove any excess compound around the conductors from the open end. Ensure the compound tube is effectively filled. If required apply
additional compound and pack tight using the wooden spatulas. Ensure that the cable is centralised within the compound tube and armor
stop, see Fig.4. Ensure that the compound does not overlap the tube diameter, see Fig.4. Clean any compound from the surfaces of the
compound tube and armor spacer as this may affect the flame path gap and future disassembly of the connector.
Taking care not to disturb the compound pass the cable and compound tube (item 9) through entry component A (item 1) and connect
sub-assembly B, maintaining the centralised alignment, by engaging the thread of the connector body (item 4), and tightening by one or
two turns. Allow the compound to harden before proceeding with final assembly into the equipment. At a minimum application
temperature of 50F/10C allow 24 hours for the compound to cure without disturbing the assembly.
Once the compound has cured, disconnect the entry component A (item 1) from sub-assembly B and screw the entry component into the
equipment.
Pass the conductors through the entry component A (item 1) and into the equipment ensuring that the compound tube is located in the
entry item.
Fully tighten the connector body (item 4) to compress the retaining spring and secure the armor. (The entry component A (item 1) and
connector body (item 4) are not required to be closed completely metal to metal). Finally tighten the outer seal nut (item 8), generally
hand tight plus one full turn to form a seal on the cable jacket.

APPLICATION
TMCX series Terminator cable fittings are designed for use with
Type MC jacketed metal clad cable, interlocked armor and
continuous corrugated armor and Type TC tray cable in hazardous
(classified) locations when installed, in accordance with NEC
sections 501-4(a) and (b), 501-5(c)(d) and (e), 502-4(a) and (b),

TMCX series Terminator cable fittings are installed to provide a
means for passing Type MC (metal clad jacketed cable) and Type
TC (tray cable) into an enclosure, panelboard or other equipment
to provide a watertight termination. TMCX series Terminator cable
fittings are reusable. The armor stop / sealing chamber serves as
an integral union that allows disassembly and reuse without compromising the integrity of the cable or the seal. Once the cable has
