OSPEK, does it important for new student?

Before we answer these questions, we should discuss what exactly


the ospek is.
Study orientation and introduction of campus or Ospek is a historic
moment for every student who enters the gates of the college. Ospek with
a whole series of the show is the color of the initial formation of character
for a new student. In other words, whether or not the personality of

3. Provide an initial understanding of the national discourse and
intellectual education based on human values.
4. Preparing students to be able to study at universities as well as
adhere to and implement the applicable norms on campus,
particularly with regard to the Code of Student Conduct and Rules.
5. Fostering a sense of human brotherhood among academics in order
to create a campus environment that is comfortable, orderly, and
dynamic.

6. Growing awareness of new students will be academic and social


responsibilities as set out in the Tri Dharma College.

Ospek is a non-structural fittings on the campus. The function ospek


are as:
1. The function of the orientation for new students to enter the world
of universities that different from learning in secondary schools.
2. the communicative function of communication between the
academic community and campus administrative staff.
3. The normative function of the new students begin to understand,
appreciate and practice the rules that apply on campus.
4. The function of the academic intellectual development, talents,
interests and leadership for students.

But the existence, Ospek activities in Indonesia are often filled by


violence in the form of verbal and even physical abuse are not uncommon
(Permana, 2013). With the concept of senior junior must obey whatever
orders. So often the participants of Ospek wearing clothes and ornaments
are unnatural even to be willing to accept physical punishment of senior
even lead to death. The parents were concerned, certainly very critical of
