THE GNOSTIC SOCIETY

Samael Aun Weor

Blessed be the ones who are dignified by the glacial beauty of the Blessed Goddess Mother Death.
Blessed be the ones who destroyed the illusory wall of their vain existence,
those who dissolved the I and who were within all of the abysses.
Death! That, which was our whole yesterday, today is just our nothingness!
Eternity! Sepulchral Beauty..!
I wept a lot; I descended into the Forge of the Cyclops,
I shouted with the whole strength of my soul:
Hear my imploring voice, oh Isis! Tear thy cowl
and thy unknowable star! Have pity on me; make me a sign of light
Eternity: Return to me what thou tookest from me:
My purple tunic, my wedding garments!
Abyss from a profound mystery:
Reimburse me that which thy deepness absorbed!
Sphinx from the dessert of Egypt: Open thine ear!
Have pity now, oh obscure night
What seas without shores, what an infinite night, what so profound wells,
what Styx like beasts I found within the interior of myself!
Thus, I returned to the Second Birth dressed with the Wedding Garment of the soul.
Thus, I learned how to die within myself.
Now, I am a defunct one who can tranquilly study
the Book of the Dead.
I am alive, nonetheless, I am dead
Ah! If people could understand all of this

Samael Aun Weor

INTRODUCTION

Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and images.
The world will not receive truth in any other way.
The Gospel of Philip

The rituals are as ancient as the world, since they contain the magical esotericism of the ancient
Egypt of the pharaohs, tantrism hidden in the very depths of the arc of the science, transcendental
Christic magism, divine; liturgical invocations of Egyptian Divinities, whose reality is founded in
the very treasures of the sacred lands of the Nile; The verb of Ra scientifically condensed in each
mantra, in each prayer, in each esoteric profound invocation.
Indubitably, God is found in the Liturgy, in the mystic liturgical path, in the narrow, straight and
difficult path that with so much emphasis the Gnostic liturgy always indicates.
Each ritual is a lecture for the consciousness; now our reader will explain to himself the reason for
the allegorical, symbolic and mystical language of this Gnostic Liturgy.
Then, the rituals condensed in this new Book of Liturgy possess logical transcendental foundations
that unquestionably come to give way to the psychological-ritualistic foundations.
Samael Aun Weor
Guadalajara, Mxico
December 4th, 1976

The Gnostic tradition we inherit sinks its roots in the direct experience, in the intimate
revelation. Therefore, behind all its theology, its philosophy and its theoretical frame, lies the
fundamental bedrock of transcendental experience.
Gnosticism suggests a very particular and specific religious experience that some Gnostics authors
coincide in calling "the mythologization of the Self-experience."
Master Samael describes this process in chapter X of The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac, when he
says:
We would like to make clear in this treatise that Gnosticism is a religious process that is inner, natural
and profound.
It is authentic and profound esotericism that develops from instant to instant with very vivid mystical
experiences, its own doctrine and ritual.
It is an extraordinary doctrine, which fundamentally adopts mythical and, sometimes, mythological
forms.
It is ineffable and Magical Liturgy, which provides vivid illustration to the Superlative Consciousness of
the Being.
[...] The correlate of this knowledge is the infinite innermost of the person, the Being.
[...]The Being, revaluating and knowing itself, is Self-Gnosis; undoubtedly, the latter is in itself the Gnosis.
3

Meditating on these paragraphs we understand early Christian Gnostics for whom knowledge
itself meant knowledge of God. And we understand why this self-knowing experience became
for them the most creative of symbolic expressions: the myth.
Gnosis, as a result of the Self-experience, when it is present in the realm of form it becomes a
mithologem. And it is from myth that we can have access to what Samael calls psychologicalritualistic foundations.
Therefore it is manifested in the sphere of the psychic reality: experience becomes myth and
myth is incorporated as psychological self-knowledge. But there is a third element that allows
myth to descend from the psychological realm to the physical manifestation where it
impregnates not only the intuitive functions but also the thinking, emotional, and sensorial
ones. It is the ritual that possesses the true meaning, which becomes the dramatization of the
myth in the plane of the senses, resulting in an irruption of the sacred in the realm of the form.
Religious experience is behind the ritual and inside the religious experience lies the experience
of transcendence, something that neither the ego nor the mind can experience. Some Gnostics
called it the numinous, the divine, the spiritual. An extraordinary atmosphere in which the
psychological realities of the things manifest and that Master Samael describes as the laconic
action of the Being.
This is the nature of the myth. Behind the symbolism there is a reality connected with the
symbol itself. Behind the mythology there is a direct experience with the original reality. This
experience is what makes Gnostics myths to belong to a very special category that when
showing through the ritual, they generate a force able to produce an unusual impact in the
soul of the individuals.

When a myth is enacted in a ritual performance or, in more general, simpler and profaner fashion, when a fairytale is told, the healing factor within it acts on whoever has taken an interest in it and allowed himself to be
moved by it in such a way that through this participation he will be brought into connection with an
archetypical form of the situation and by this means enabled to put himself into order.

GR I D
THE BRIDAL CHAMBER:
CONNUBIUM OF NUT AND HADIT
Opening Statement

With your sight turned towards the heights adore the Lord. Listen to his word of mystical sound.
A path of Light and eternal Love is pointed out to the men and peoples that understood his
voice. The most profound part of Mother Nature is the aeonic life that shines within us.
Paracelsus says that the human life possesses two sources of Gnosis or salvific knowledge. One
of them is called Lumen Dei, the light coming from the Unmanifested Godhead. The other one
is Lumen Naturae, the light hidden in matter and in the forces of nature. While the Divine Light
should be discerned by means of the revelation, the Light of Nature needs to be liberated
through alchemy until becoming operative. God redeems humanity through its Son. But nature
should be redeemed by way of the alchemy.
This Aeonic Life that gleams within us is a phrase that makes us to meditate in the Light that,
descending from the High, from the Light of Lights (Lumen Dei), it is caught in Nature (Lumen
Naturae). That Light is the Light inside Darkness; therefore it is the deepest part.
In the vision of Paracelsus, lumen naturae is related with Venus Magistra, with Aphrodite Urania,
with Sophia, that adopts the form of Melusine, the magic mermaid of the European folklore,
and of whom the medical alchemist says, she lives in the blood.
The First Repentance of Pistis Sophia says:
And I went and found myself in the darkness which is in the chaos below and I could no more speed thence and
go to my region, for I was sore pressed by all the emanations of Self-willed, and the lion-face power took away my
light in me...
... For because of thy inducement and for the sake of thy light am I fallen into this oppression, and shame hath
covered me
... And when I sought the light, they gave me darkness and when I sought my power, they gave me matter 1
And M. Samael explains:
The Self-willed and the lion-face power absorbed the reflections of Sophia.
Sophia travels wherever she pleases. She can stay in the Thirteenth Aeon or in the Chaos.
In essence, Sophia, the Wisdom, is a concrete result, a symbiosis of the mixture of Light and Darkness.
Sophia is the result of the descent of the Logos into the Chaos.
Sophia is found in the sexual Chaos, in the brute Azoth.
We must liberate Sophia from with the darkness of the Chaos.
The Cosmos come from the Chaos and the Light from the Darkness.

In the Gnostic Creed we find a wonderful exposition of the descending of the Logos to matter.

Samael Aun Weor, Pistis Sophia Unveiled, Ch. 32.

I The Bridal Chamber: Connubium of Nut and Hadit

Meditation
The Gnostic Creed

I believe in the unity of God, in the Father as an impersonal entity, ineffable and unrevealed,
that no one has seen, but whose strength and creative potential, has been and is imprinted in
the perennial rhythm of Creation.
I believe in Mary, Maya, Isis, or under whatever name, in the physical force symbolizing
Nature, whose conception and childbirth reveals the fertility of Nature.
I believe in the mystery of Baphomet and the Demiurge.
I believe in a superior Transcended Church maintained in the pure souls, in the white lodges,
and represented by the Universal Fraternity, whose Law is: Light, Love, Life, Liberty and
Triumph.
I believe in the community of the purified souls. As the material bread is transformed into
spiritual substance, I believe in the baptism of Wisdom, whereby we accomplishes the miracle of
making us humans.
I know and acknowledge the essentiality of my life conceived as a totality without a
chronological end, which encompasses an orbit beyond time and space.
I believe in the Son, the Cosmic Chrestos, the powerful astral mediation that links our physical
personality to the supreme immanence of the Solar Father.
The power of Nut is a creative power that, invisible, it is manifested in the realm of form as the
Transcendent Sexual Electricity. Master Samael says:
The First Mystery is found contained within the Four-and-Twentieth Mystery, which is the Loom upon which
our own fate is woven and unwoven.
The Loom of God, the Great Work, functions only with the Sixth Mystery.
The Sixth Mystery is the Lover, the mystery of Love.
The transcendental sexual electricity is that marvelous force which originates all motion in the Loom of God. 2
She is Maya, Shakty, this is, Lumen Dei (Divine Light) transformed into Lumen Naturae (Light
of Nature) whose conception and childbirth reveals the fertility of nature, since it is Sophia,
light and darkness, who makes fertile the human nature and it grants to the seed the possibility
to germinate. The mediator among both is Baphomet-Demiurge, who is at the same time an
aspect of Sophia, as it is explained in the study of the term Baphomet.
The Mystery of the Baphomet is contained here, the Mystery of the Baptism of Wisdom... which
carries out the miracle of becoming us human. Let us see the description from Eliphas Levi:
"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol
of light, his two hands forming the sign of hermetecism, the one pointing up to the white moon of the Qabbalistic
Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy
with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyne of Khunrath 3 , the attributes of
which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence

I The Bridal Chamber: Connubium of Nut and Hadit

shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter,
as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it. The ugly beast's head expresses the horror of the sinner,
whose materially acting, solely responsible part has to bear the punishment exclusively; because the soul is
insensitive according to its nature and can only suffer when it materializes. The rod standing instead of genitals
symbolizes eternal life, the body covered with scales the water, the semi-circle above it the atmosphere, the feathers
following above the volatile. Humanity is represented by the two breasts and the androgyne arms of this sphinx of
the occult sciences." 4
And on the etymology of the term we find their origin of the Greek word 'Baphe' and 'Metis'.
Both words together would mean "Baptism of Wisdom". Another definition is obtained using the
substitution of ciphers of the Hebrew alphabet (Atbash Cipher) that consists in exchanging the
letters of that alphabet, the first one for the last one, the second for the penultimate one, etc.
Using this technique, scholars of the Dead Sea Scrolls have concluded that the word Baphomet
becomes the Greek word Sophia, Wisdom. Finally, associated to Sufism, Isdres Shah makes it
come from the Arab word Abufihamat, which means "The Father of the Understanding.
The Baptism of Wisdom comes to be a literal translation from the Greek of the words Baphe
and Metis that compose the word Baphomet. Then we understand that it is through Baphomet
that the incarnation, the manifestation of the spirit in the matter is achieved. That is to say that
Baphomet allows, as mediator, the descent of Sophia into matter and with her the possibility
for that lumen naturae or light in the darkness, to germinate and with that, to facilitate the
redemption of the mankind.
Let us go back to Pistis Sophia:
The true substance of Sophia must be searched for within the Chaos.
The glory of Sophia is found within the Chaos.
Lux in Tenebris Lucet.
The Light shines in the Darkness.
Sophia shines in the Darkness.
That which was found diffused within the tenebrous, gross and vile mass of the animal sperm can now shine by
means of sexual transmutation.
The Light of Sophia always emerges from the Chaos, and this Light shines in the Darkness.
Sophia, as Verb, is Yaldabaoth in complete action. 5

Nut, the hidden of Hadit

Hadit, the manifestation of Nut
Nut, the feminine aspect of the creation says: I am anything: they don't see me, they are on the earth; I
am the Sky and there is not another God than me, and my Lord Hadit. I am the infinite space...
Hadit, on the other hand is identified itself: Me, Hadit, I am the complement of Nut, my wife. I am not
extended and Khabs is the name of my House. In the sphere I am the center that is everywhere, as her, the
circumference, it is anywhere. However she is known and me not.
The whole existence is the result of these two forces, what is established in the declarations of
Nut: I am on you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My happiness is to see your happiness. And the sign will

be my ecstasy, the conscience of the continuity of the existence, the omnipresence of my body Because I have been
divided by love, for the possibility of the union...
Hadit wraps up in the revelation of Nut. Nut on the other hand is bound to the concealment
of Hadit. Each individual manifests the all; and the all conceal the individuality. Nature is
understood itself when becomes self conscious in its units; and the conscience loses its sense of
separateness when is dissolved in Her (Nut). Diversity is the Unity. The unit is amplified in the
diversity.
Waldemar comments on the Feast of the Supreme Ritual of Love:
We don't want to close this chapter without transcribing an old Ritual that shows us how the great lovers
always attempted to strengthen the chain of magnetic sympathy by the influence of the above.
The gods of the old times corresponded to the cosmic qualities of the intrinsic being (primordial ideas), to which
the initiate ones put on immediate contact by means of the "identification.
Thus, only by the conscious comparison with the bipolar manifestation of the creative force, an amplification of
the conscience was achieved, and this took out love of all the scum of the daily life, to elevate it to the stellar
moments of the heart.
[...] The officiating ones are two and they represent the eternal powers of Nuit and Hadit, embodied in the deities
Isis and Osiris. Nuit, the dynamic universal principle; Hadit, the static one. 6

Meditation
And the Supreme Ritual begins when the Priest lifts the veil of the Isis...

Him
The Heavens and the Earth salute you.
Oh Isis! Mother of the Cosmos, root of love, stem, bud, leaf, flower and seed of all that exists. We
conjure you, naturalizing force. We call the Queen of Space and Night and kissing her loving
eyes, drinking the dew of her lips, breathing the sweet aroma of her body, we exclaim: Oh Nut!,
Thou eternal Seity of heaven! Thou who art the primordial soul, thou who art that which was
and that which will be...
...Isis, whose veil no mortal has raised, when you are beneath the radiant stars of the nocturnal
and profound sky of the desert, with purity of heart and in the flame of the serpent, we call you.
Her
You may come to my bosom and rejoice, leaving a trail of incense behind you. You must give
everything, absolutely everything, for a single kiss of mine.
Because I love you and I yearn to you, pale or purple, voluptuous or veiled. I who encompass
all pleasure; I give drunkenness and exultation to the innermost senses.
Let the perfumes of the incense rise, drink with me! I love you. I am the daughter of the Sun, the
daughter of the blue eyes, the daughter of the sunset. I am the radiant magnificence of a
voluptuous night-sky.

I The Bridal Chamber: Connubium of Nut and Hadit

Him
Come to me, oh Mystery of the Mysteries! The occult, the hidden is within the Seity of everyone.
Thou art as much as I am and I am as much as you are. I am the flame that burns in every
heart of man as it burns in each grain and in each trunk. Therefore the knowledge of me
encompasses far beyond the frontier of death. I am alone. I am God and where I am there are
Gods.
The Rituals of the Elements
And the Feasts of the Times

But ye art my people. My people are made up of those capable of awakening and raising within
themselves each one, the rhythm of their particularity. Let the laws be fulfilled and let that be
within the ritual of beauty and good, since they are the rites of the elements and the feasts of
times. Celebrate a feast as that of the first night of the Prophet with his immortal bride. A feast
symbolized in the three days in which the Law was written.
These words used to be pronounced by the deacon, to who is attributed the characteristic of
union of the opposites, the androgyny that allows him to be narrator of the ritual drama. 7
The Cosmos, according to Paracelsus, contains the divine light or life, but this sacred essence is
caught in the mechanics of the creation, presided over by a demiurge to which Paracelsus calls
Hylaster (from hyle, matter and astrum, star). This cosmic spider-god has knitted a spider's web
inside which the light, as an insect, it is caught, until the alchemical process breaks the web. The
spider's web comes to be the consensual reality, made up from the four elements, earth, water,
fire and air, inside where all the creatures exist.
Therefore, the first operation of the alchemy refers to the break (torture, bleed, dismembering)
of this confined structure and to reducing it to the condition of a creative chaos (confused
mass, prima matter). From this, in the process of the transformation, the true and creative
binary emerges and it begins its interaction designed to produce the conjunction or alchemical
union. In this final union, the previously confined light is redeemed to the point of reaching
their final realization.
The Rituals of the Elements are rites that generate energies according with the nature, will and
magic formula of each one of the elements. Four of these rites are carried out as The Feasts of the
Times, or the feats of the cycle, and they are carried out in the equinoxes and solstices of every
solar year, when the sun enters in each one of the four cardinal signs from the zodiac, those
that the four elements are attributed: Fire (Aries, spring equinox in March), Water (Cancer,
summer solstice in June), Air (Libra, autumn equinox in September) and Earth (Capricorn,
winter solstice in December).
The rites of the elements and the feasts of the times would come to be the representation of the
complete and necessary cycle so that takes place the development and the experience of the
sowing. This cycle is represented in the Pancatattwa Ritual.

He represents the Lover's Grade. It comes from diconos, Greek for minister or servant.

10

I The Bridal Chamber: Connubium of Nut and Hadit

A Feast for the First Night

And a Feast for the three days in which the Law was written
The feast for the Prophet of Hadit, and Nut, his immortal bride. In the loving connubium of the
original couple, the Law is written by way and action of the Law of Three, this is, the "three
days" in which the Law was written. Here taking sense the sentence Do what thou wilt, that it is the
only Law, but think that of all your acts you must account. Take note of this that whatever emanates from this
Law, arises from these five sources: Light, Love, Life, Freedom and Victory.
Master Samael says:
At down of the great cosmic day, The First Logos, the Father, said to the Third Logos, the Holy Spirit: Go,
fertilize my wife, the chaotic mother, the Great Mother, so that life will emerge; but you will see. When the Father
had spoken, the Third Logos bowed reverently; at the moment, creation dawned.
The Cosmocreators, the Army of builders of the Aurora, the host of Elohim, the Third Logos, worked in the seven
temples of Chaos.
Three forces are indispensable to all creation; the positive force, the negative force, and the neutral force.
In front of the altar of the temple, one of the Elohim was polarized into masculine form, positive, and another one
into feminine form, negative.
The choir of the Elohim, on the main floor of the temple represented the neutral force.
In this way, the order of these three forces was established in each of the seven temples of primitive chaos.
Divine man sang; divine women sang; the choir of the Elohim sang.
The whole liturgy of the seven temples was sung, and the Great Word fertilized the womb of the Great Divine
Mother. 8

A Feast for Tehuti,

The children of the Prophet and the Children of the Widow
Tehuti or Tahuti is another of the names for Thoth. Thoth is Hermes-Mercury, and as such it
summarizes the work up and down and from below to above through the arcanes. He is also
the scribe and judge in the room of the Truth and the Justice. Tehuti is the Lord of the Annual
Cycle that represents all cycle or eon. The cycle represents a process; therefore all these
paragraphs are related with the feasts of times.
The Prophet is recognized as Ra-Hoor-Khu, this is, Ra who is Horus of the Horizons. An appellative
that identifies Ra with Horus, showing both as manifestations of the Solar Force. He is the
Prophet of Hadit.
Hiram Abiff is the widow's child. And he is the first-born of the creation, as Master Samael calls
him, the Archi-magician, Archi-hierophant, the Individual Particular Monad, Shiva, builder of
Salomons symbolic Temple. In the Masonic legend, before being murdered, Hiram is taken by
Tubalcain (the first blacksmith) to the depths of the Earth, where he is instructed in the
mysteries of Lucifer. Now the work of the initiate ones is the search of the tomb of Hiram Abiff
and its resurrection.
Lucifer drives us from sphere to sphere to our own Hiram Abiff. Lucifer is then, the Thread of Ariadne that takes
us toward our Interior God; and takes us out of that painful labyrinth of life, by means of the occult work. 9

I The Bridal Chamber: Connubium of Nut and Hadit

A Feast for the Supreme Ritual

And a Feast for the Equinox of the Gods

The reflection on the Equinox of the Gods is very interesting and it can be very deep. Being the
equinox the moment of the annual cycle where the Sun crosses the celestial equator, it
produces then day and the night to have the same duration. In fact the equinoxes have to do
with the mystic resurrection because they represent the steadiness of the scales.
The equilibrium symbolized by the Scales indicates a return to the Unit, that is to say, to the
non manifestation, because all that is manifested is subject to the duality and the oppositions.
The balance represented by the fixed plates, one in front of the other, means a step beyond the
conflicts that belong to time-space, to matter. From the center of the scales and of the firmness
of the needle, the oppositions can be considered as complementary aspects. 10
It is said in the Kabbalah that before the Creation "the scales was in the Ancient of Days", and that "in
Him, before the manifestation of the act that starts the creation, the Indefinite had formed in its thought its own
unfolding that should engender all the successive divisions until those of the cell". With its two plates, the
scale symbolizes that unfolding.
The sacrifice of the incarnation of the Logos will take place in the winter solstice, the darkest
night of the year. The sacrifice will be completely accomplished by the time the Sun crosses its
Eastern node in the spring equinox. "Then the divine creative word expires, it dies upon the cross at Easter
in a mystic sense, while uttering a last triumphant cry: It has been accomplished (Consummatum est)". 11

A feast, the greatest, each day, in the intimacy of your heart as a grace and as a remembrance
of your love. A feast for the feeling of ecstasy. Toast! Yes! Toast to Nut, to Nut, voluptuosity!
Meditation

Almighty Seity! Cosmic Seity! Thou, whose radiance enlighten the worlds, Thou that art the
breath that maketh everything tremble and shake, by the sign of the cross, I conjure Thou Great
Being, appear Thou upon your Throne of the Solar Globe!
Make open the path, the door of Creation, and trace a path of relation between us and may
your Light enlighten our understanding, encourage our heart. Let thy light infiltrate and
inflame our blood fulfilling us of incarnation.

Closing Statement

Lift yourselves up, my brothers and sisters of the earth. Put beneath your feet all fears and
timidness. Lift yourselves up! Be free and joyous by night and day, to always do your will.
Walk forth, you, brethren, in Light, Love and Liberty. Take joy as Kings and Queens in Heaven
and on Earth!
The Sun is arisen, the spectre of time has vanished, and the Lost Word has been found.

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

GR II D
THE PILGRIMAGE OF THE SOUL
NUT, HADIT AND RA-HOOR-KHUIT
Opening Statement

Let us ignite the flame of our heart, as a blessed torch which is the light of the Lord, as a sacred
fountain of mystic emotion, from whence flows the purest torrent of love.
Let us ignite the flame of divine sweetness, in which the Master silently shines.
All the manifested existence arises from the interaction of two cosmic principles: the infinitely
extended one that embraces all, and the atomic principle that is expressed individually. The
interaction of these two generates the principle of Conscience that governs the whole existence.
These divine principles are personified in the Egyptian divinities: Nut, the goddess of the
Incommensurable Space; Hadit, the Winged Snake of Light; and Ra-Hoor-Khu, the Solar Lord
of the Cosmos.
The Pleroma of the Infinite Possibilities is called Nut, Nu or Nuit. The Individual Will is called
Had or Hadit. The relationship between Nut and Hadit becomes in the interaction of the Unity
and the Diversity.

God is the flame that seethes in everything, the vivifying geometry of everything. That is why the
number is holy, is infinite, is eternal. There where He resides there is no difference, diversity is
Unity.
When drawing back the veil, each man and each woman turn out to be stars that hang from
the firmament. Each number is infinite, without any difference. The extension of the Universe
doesn't have borders and the Being's diversity is also infinite. The multiplicity is the unity.

Meditation

Be thou, oh Hadit, my secret, the Gnostic mystery of my Being, the central point of my
connection, my heart itself, and blossom on my fecund lips, made Word.
Above, in the infinite heavens, in the profound height of the unknown, the incessant radiance
of Light is the naked beauty of Nut. She reclines, she bends in delectable ecstasy, to receive the
kiss of the secret desire of Hadit. The winged globe and the starry blue are mine.

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

The Myth of Creation

Recount of the indescribable

The great mystery that means the step from the invisible to the visible. It manifests the power
that will allow that from the One incomprehensible the multiplicity takes place. From the
Creator's first impulse to be known itself, carrying out their own conscience, through their own
projection, results its own transformation. The result is expressed in the form of the sacred
scarab Khepri and its three fundamental phases: egg, larva and nymph, to reach their definitive
winged form.
We start from the mystery of the creation as it is archetypically described in Heliopolis. This is
complimented later on with the myths of Memphis, Hermopolis and Thebes, the main initiatic
centers from whose texts the Gnostics rites are nurtured.
The Unmanifested Atum
and the Great Ennead
In Heliopolis, Atum 27 is the Creator's total potentiality, without form and intangible that is
projected or differs from the primordial waters called Nun. Atum emerges of the primordial
waters as a primordial hill. Then it spits 28 the first powers or divine qualities:
Shu, principle of the air and of the space 29 , and Tefnut, their sister-wife, humid principle, of the
dew and the fertility, they conform the first differentiation of Atum as generating principles
From these principles their children arise, Geb, god of the earth, represented as a prone man,
and Nut, the goddess of the sky, arched on him. In the version of Hermopolis, Geb and Nut
they marry contravening the orders of Ra. This orders Shu then to separate them but it is too
late since Nut is pregnant. Ra orders then that Nut cannot give birth in any month of the year.
Moved by the prayers of Nut, the god of the cycle and of the learning, Thoth, in agreement
with the moon, obtain extra light adding five days to the Egyptian calendar of 360 days. In
those five days Nut gives birth to her children: Osiris, the first-born of Geb; Isis, the sister-wife
of Osiris; Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis, avenger of his father's death; Set, the terrible brother
of Osiris; and Nephtys, sister-wife of Set, who is in love with Osiris and with whom she has
her son, Anubis.
All they constitute, together with their creator Atum, the Great Ennead of Heliopolis, and they
will be the in charge of the whole transformation. This way, the number nine is linked with the
generation, as it is described in The Pyramid Texts: 30 "The King emerged from the thighs of the nine
divines... ".
27

The Atum from Heliopolis, also written as Tum, comes to be Ptah in Memphis. Ptah is the divine blacksmith, the
Greek Hephaestus (Vulcan) who next to Sekhmet, the terrible lioness whose name means the powerful one, and
Nefertum, the achievement of Atum, they constitute the first causal triad.
28
Spits (ishish), it expectorates (tfnt), he hurtles of the deepest in the breathing tract. This description is important
since it gives us the idea that the creation comes from the breathing flow, the Creator's breath. In another version,
according to The Pyramid Texts, "Atum gives birth to itself masturbating in Heliopolis", something that reminds us Lord
Phallus.
29
The relationship between Shu, the air, with the fire is found in a text of the sarcophaguses of the half period (2000 B.C.)
in which the deceased is identified with the divinities and when invoking Shu he says: "I was the soul of Shu that is in
the flame, the fire that Atum generate when masturbating.
30
The oldest religious texts found in the mortuary chambers of the pyramids. From the dynasties V and VI, they
consist of long vertical columns of hieroglyphics engravings on stone walls that recount the king's ascension and his
return next to the Supreme Father. See http://www.sacred-texts.com/egy/pyt/index.htm

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

Nut
The Incommensurable Space

Therefore I am known to ye by my name Nut and by the occult name that I will give you when
at last you knoweth me. Since I am the infinite space, without limit, prolonged and eternal,
wherein dwell the innumerable stars.
Bind nothing, tie nothing! The difference is not in this, since between you and other existing
things there is no differentiation and everything will be the same for you. From it no harm can
come. Whoever consecrates and constantly fulfills whatever I say, he will be the Master or
counselor of all. Finally, I am Nut, and my word is 56.
Nut introduces herself as the infinite space; she is the Queen of the Sky and of the starry space.
The stairway, as one of her symbols, was always present in the tombs for the deceased's
protection, because Nut was also considered the deceaseds protector. She was also considered
as the barrier that separates the forces of the chaos from the order of the cosmos, extended on
her body, with the fingers of their feet and hands on the earth. The region that she embraces is
the space of the fixed stars, the Ogdoad of the Gnostics, beyond the sphere of the planets, the
Hebdomad.
Her key word is the pilgrimage, because it is the result of its childbirth. The stellar bodies
penetrate through her mouth, they cross her skies and they reborn when going out of her
womb at dawn. This pilgrimage of the souls is represented by the card 56 of the tarot. For she
says, uncannily, in the Egyptian ritual: "divide, add, multiply and understand." Her primordial agent
to carry out her work is called Thoth-Mercury. And Master Samael will say about this agent,
"Venerable Matter, is Mysterious Water, it will go by the arithmetic operations of sum, subtraction,
multiplication and division of principles, before being useful."
Daughter of Shu and Tefnut, the complementary principles, she is mother of the five and with
them one of the Ennead. Between Nut and Geb, their offsprings will be the elements that
intervene in the scenario of this pilgrimage: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Seth, and Nephtys.
She is the archetypal womb through which everything comes to manifestation. In the Kabbalah
she is associated to the death since she, as Great Mother, means the death of the dynamic
activity of Chokmah, the force that dies when becoming form by way of Binah. Before Nut
everything is dynamic, expansible, and potential. After her everything is subjected to the
structure of the duality. 31 Nut is the primordial root of the matter whose full development will
be given by way of Hadit.
Meditation

Oh Nut! unmistakable, endless Light of the Heavens, let it be ever thus on this day, that men
speak not of You as within form, divine butterfly, but rather, feel you as intangible, and winged
and permeating everything existent. Do not allow that they speak of you as a tangible thing
because you are the perpetual and continuous Light that never extinguishes.
Hail Nut, eternal Cosmic Seity!
Hail Nut, Light of the Heavens!
Hail Nut, primordial and unique soul!
31

The Christian symbol of Nut is the virgin mother with the child in her arms. The mother grants him life but
through that she sends him to his inevitable death. But it won't be in vain because, in Tiphereth, his death in the
cross will be worth him the return to the true life.

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

IAO - IAO - IAO - IAO - IAO

Write unto us your teachings, write unto us your rituals, write unto us your Light!
Thelema
The Teaching of Nut

My teachings I write not, I cant. My rituals, on the other hand, shall be written for all in that
part which is not secret. The Law is like this, the same. One has to operate by the action of the
staff and by the action of the sword. This must be learned, and so must be taught.
Who calls you Thelemites will commit no injustice if he comprehends the word with perfection;
for there are therein exactly three degrees: the man who dwells in silence, the man who loves,
and the vulgar man of the earth. What thou want, what thou wilt, every word will have that
meaning. It depends on you!
The Hierophant observes three tests in one, and it might be given in three ways: the gross or
vulgar receives his test in the fire; the evolved or educated, in the mind, and the lofty or chosen
ones, in the highest. Thus ye have stars and stars, systems and systems, degrees and degrees, but
let them not be known to one another!
Master Samael teaches in one of his lectures that the word Thelemites is related with the
Initiates. 32 Thelemites would be those who have been able to integrate the three primary
forces of nature. But let us begin with the etymology of the word.
Thelema is the transliteration of the noun in old Greek. Their translation would
be will, intention. In the Christian texts it is used to refer to the will of God and the
human will.
Now then, the true will is a mystic concept that describes actions without resistance, this is,
free of the law of cause and effect, a law that Master Samael calls Causality and that he
explains in this way:
We must liberate and emancipate ourselves from the Law of Causality.
We can make the great jump only by awakening and developing the Consciousness.
It is necessary that the Bodhicitta, which means the auric embryo, the awakened Consciousness, to fall into
the Illuminated Void.
Only thus can the Bodhicitta be free from the world of relativity.
The world of relativity is the world of combinations and of duality.
The universal machine of relativity is based on the Law of Cosmic Causality.
The Law of Cosmic Causality is the same as the Law of Karma.
The Law of Causality is the same as the Law of Action and Consequence.
We can submerge ourselves in the Illuminated Void by means of the Great Jump.
[] The world of relativity is based on constant dualism and therefore, on the chain of causes and effects.
We must break chains in order to submerge ourselves within the Illuminated Void.
The Illuminated Void is obviously just the antechamber of the Suchness, which is the Great Reality. 33

18

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

Thus, Thelema implies a process of liberation from the Law of Cause and Effect.
This law is the immediate result of the creation of the world of relativity, where the unitary
becomes duality, and the simultaneous becomes successive. In the East is called maya, illusion. M.
Samael says that it is the world of combinations and of the duality. Beyond the polarity
is the Unity, the One that embraces all, in which the contrary ones are joined. This Unit,
not subjected to time nor space, remains then in rest.
On the contrary, the duality, as a result of the manifestation of the world of relativity,
makes the conscience to divide everything, and outlines the conflict of the need of
differentiation and exclusion. The problem that arises is that with each exclusion, the
result is a lack o unity, this is, a fragmentation. To bigger differentiation, bigger
fragmentation.
It will be now necessary to break chains, to give the great jump and to restore the Unit.
Nut, the Queen of the Sky, explains how.

The Three Degrees of Thelema

The three grades of Thelema are represented in the Tree of the Life by the sephiroth of
the Pillar of Equilibrium. It could not be otherwise because it is necessary to operate by the
action of the staff and by the action of the sword. 34 Also, they represent the three natures "of
Sophia".
The vulgar man of the earth, related with Yesod-Malkuth, is the carnal, hyletic nature. The
carnal soul acts like a drug that makes forget the true origin producing a mundane creature 35 . The
Gospel of the Truth describes this nature like a nightmare. Of her Valentine says "is a
creature of forgetfulness that is spread to the external darkness when dying". His test is in the fire of
the passions of the world, because its seed has been spread in the road without the
possibility of germinating.
The man that loves, corresponds to The Lover, this is, to the sphere of Tiphereth. It is the
psychic nature. The experience of this type of nature makes the animated person to be
reinforced in the faith and in the good deeds, but because of his ignorance of the spiritual
pneumatic, he depends on rules, instructions and norms to determine the "correct
course" of his actions. Because of this, he remains subject to the arbitrary demand of the
Law, something that is manifested in the sphere of the mind as conceptual dualism.
The man that dwells in silence, this is, The Hermit, is the representation of Binah as the
concretizing manifestation of the force of Kether through Chokmah. Here we find to the
pneumatic nature, those that, waking up from the drunkenness and the stupor of ignorance, and free

34

The equilibrium symbolized by the Scale indicates a return to the Unit, that is to say, to the non manifestation,
because all that is manifested is subject to the duality and the oppositions. The balance represented by the fixed
plates, one in front of the other, means a step beyond the conflicts that belong to time-space, to matter. From the
center of the scale and of the firmness of the needle, the oppositions can be considered as complementary aspects.
Therefore, Master Samael speaks of two complementary fundamental works to end up giving the Great Jump: a
strictly sexual work, of creation of the solar bodies, described in the initiations of the Fire in the First Mountain. And
a work of reunification or restoration of the psychic principles or principles of the soul, the conscience that Master
calls the development of the Golden Embryo in the Perfect Bodhicitta.

from the suffering, they recognize their true spiritual nature. 36 It is the sphere of the elected ones, those
who are tested in the highest and that have found their reality in the silence.

Meditation

Give me the secret happiness that you keep for those who love you!
If under the night-stars, in the desert of your solitude, thou invokest me with pure heart, and
there where I am, burnest your incense, then, in penitence, come to me. For one of my kisses
you shall be willing to give all; but whoso offers an atom of dust in the glory of ecstasy, in that
moment, all shall be denied to him!
Ye shall gather goods, provisions, women and fragrances, be happy and exceed in pride and
beauty all the nations of the Earth, but always, always in love for me, thus ye shall attain my
secret and radiant joy. Because I love you and I yearn to you, whether you are pale or purple,
veiled or voluptuous, and I who am in everything, who am the pleasure and joy, drunkenness
and delight, from the innermost of my Being, I longing you.
Put on the wings and awake within yourself the occult majesty of your inner beauty.

Hadit
The Complement of Nut

Come! All ye, and learned the secret that hath not yet been revealed. I, Hadit, am the
complement of Nut, my wife. I am not extended, and Khabs is the name of my house.
Khabs is the sky where the countless stars dwell, the so called Chamber of the Adepts in the Egyptian
mythology, the place of the rebirth. The House of Khabs is built in three sections: the external
one is the arched body of Nut that defines the space, the circumference that is nowhere. The
interior is the central point that is everywhere. The energy that is derived of the relationship of
both it is denominated Ra-Hoor-Khuit, the mediator point between the outer and the inner.
The structure of the House of Khabs integrates the Palace with the Four Entrances and the die of a
circle.

36

The Gospel of Truth, 22:13-15.

20

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

There are four gates to one palace. The floor of that palace is of silver and gold, lapis lazuli
and jasper and there, a variety of fragrances of roses and jasmine are inhaled. But in the
middle of all there blows a breeze of death! Let the officiants enter or open the doors one by one
or all of them at once. Let them stand on the floor of the palace, it will not sink! Woe you, oh
warrior, oh fighter, if your servant sinks! But there are remedies and remedies.
It is known In the Hebraic Kabbalah as the Sphere of Kadosh in whose symbol, the hexagram,
Nut is represented in the triangle with the tip up; Hadit is the triangle with the tip down and
Ra-Hoor-Khuit is the seventh point as connector of both triangles. This symbol, as the Seal of
Solomon, can be seen as composed by the six tips of its triangles with its six respective
entrances adding twelve that determine the location of the zodiacal signs in the House of
Khabs. Thus, Ra-Hoor-Khuit is the thirteenth. 37
Master Samael in his teachings 38 relates the four entrances of the palace with the four worlds:
mineral, cellular, molecular and electronic. This makes us to meditate that the House of Khabs
embraces the two triangles, ethical and magical, of the Tree of the Life. Then, the center of
gravity resides in Tiphereth, since it is the one that unifies both.
The great importance of this Sephirah resides in its three fundamental keys. First, it is the center
of equilibrium for the Tree because of his position in the middle of the Central Pillar. In second
place, as if it was a mirror, he is Kether in an inferior arch and Yesod in a superior arch. And
third, he is the transmutation point between the realm of the force or spirit and the realm of
the form or matter.

I am the Flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star. I am life and the
giver of life, yet therefore, is the wisdom of me the Wisdom of Death.
I am magician and exorcist; I am the axle of the wheel and the cube in the circle. Come unto
me! Give me the Great Word for I am he who walks. Those who worshipped Heru-Pa-Kroat have
worshipped me; for I am the Worshipper.
In the constructive symbolism we discover that the analogies of the Star of David, the Sphere
of Kadosh and the Latin cross are conjugated in the Cubic Stone. This comes to be the Altar of
the Sacrifices. Therefore, when the cube spreads and opens up, it adopts the form of a Latin
cross, which is the plane of the cathedral. This way, the symbolism of the temple gathers a
cosmic order that produces a communication between the microcosms and the macrocosms,
between lumen naturae and lumen dei. The mediator point is the Christ, the Savior, in the sphere
of sacrifices that is Tiphereth. His wisdom is the wisdom of death; he is the axis of the wheel
and the die of the circle. He is the Philosophical Stone.
In Egypt he is the manifestation of Ra, called Heru-pa-Kraat, the Greek Harpocrates that
represents Horus as child, while Ra-Hoor-Khuit, the man with hawk head, is the mature
representation of Horus. For that reason from the point of view of Kether, Tiphereth is a child,
and from the point of view of Malkuth, Tiphereth is a King. In their own sphere, Tiphereth is
the crucified Savior.

37

According to the constructive symbolism of Masonry we would say that Nut is the Angular Stone, Hadit it is the
Stone of Foundation or Well of the Strong Saints, where the Knights veil the weapons, and Ra-Hoor-Khuit is the Altar
or Stone of the Sacrifices.

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

Surprisingly Master Samael will say in his teachings that Ra-Hoor-Khu from the waist up he is a
great master, and from the waist down, serpents of the abyss. 39

Meditation

Hail, yes! Prophet of Nut! Prophet of Had! Prophet of Ra-Hoor-Khu. Now rejoice and come at
once in our splendour and in our loving delight! Come, respond, like a gust of wind to our
passionate peace and write sweet and beautiful words in honor of the triumph of the kings!
Write, and find ecstasy in writing! Work, and be our bed in working! Thrill with the joy of life
and death! Ah! Thy death shall be sweet and whososeeth it shall be completely happy. Thy death
shall be the seal of the oath of our love.
Come! Lift up thine heart and rejoice! We are one and we are none. Strive ever to more strength
and you will be ours and you will live in the eternal and perpetual tranquility of our rejoicing.
Death is the crown of all. This shall be my only testimony!
Ra-Hoor-Khuit
The Inspired Fort-Speaker of Mentu

Who art thou?

I am the Lord of Thebes, the inspired forth-speaker of Mentu. For me reveals and unveils the
veiled sky. The self-slain Ank-Af-Na-Khonsu; whose words are the purest Truth. I greet the power
of the majestic and illustrious God who makest the gods and death to tremble.
In Thebes, the sacred trinity is composed by Amon, Mut and Khonsu, the son. He who has
embodied the son's force, by way of their own death, is called the deceased, the self-slain one, or
simply the wounded.
In this initiatic center in particular, the son under whose aegis the Pharaohs are covered, is
guided by the god hawk of the war, called Mentu, Mentju or Montu. This name means "nomadic
and it is he who allows the fighter to be victorious of his battle. He is the head of the masculine
virility and of the force.
Therefore, the wounded, the deceased, Ank-af-na-Khonsu whose name means "He who lives in
Khonsu", clear reference to the incarnation of the Christic principle, is the Lord of Thebes, priest
of Mentu and spokesman of the death. He is the deceased Osiris that opens the doors of the
sky in Karnak, the most important initiatic center in Thebes.
Whose words are the purest truth... Master Blavatsky says that Horus child, with its finger on its
mouth, always indicates the divine Word or Logos. He is the virgin mother's son that remains
as child. However, he is not yet the True Voice or Voice of the Truth, only the imperfect voice, the
Inarticulate Speech. However, in his second and more virile character, Horus, as the representation

22

II The Pilgrimage of the Soul: Nut, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit

of the Father, then becomes the True Voice, and he is the incarnation of the Voice of the Truth.
Under this character Horus was personified as Har-Makheru, this is, Horus, the Voice of the Truth. 40
With the Egyptians, the deceased, the self-slain one, was called by their title of Makheru,
translated by some specialists as the Justified, since he justified himself before the scales in the
weighing ceremony. As in Christendom, the faithful deceased, is he who has been saved by the
"Word of Truth".

Prayer

Show thy star beauty, Oh dazzling Nut.

Bid me within thine holy house to dwell. Oh Hadit, winged serpent of Light.
Abide with me Ra-Hoor-Khu! AUM wants to fulfill it.
According to the funerary texts, the man is composed of a mortal body, the Kha, and of three
fundamental, subtle and immortal principles: the Akh, the Ba and the Ka.
In the first place, Akh expressed all the ideas related with the light, from the light that arises
from darkness to the transcendental light of the transfiguration. The akh is previous to the
creation, and also the last objective of this. When, in a funeral text, the king is commanded in
the other world with the words "you are more akh than the akhw", we must interpret that, after
having descended and embodied in the matter with the purpose of becoming aware of such
condition, the spirit returns, enriched, to the "pre existent akhw", with the knowledge of himself
and of all the manifestations; that is to say, the light is transfigured. For that reason it is written
that "the king returns to his father's right hand." 43 This is the fundamental purpose of the creation.
Master Samael synthesizes the subtle elements of the Egyptian Being when he says that The soul
of any Egyptian Hierophant has four bodies: la Mummy (Khet), the Ka (Astral Body), the Ba (Mental Body) and
the Ku (Causal Body). 44

In the sequence of the ritual according to the funerary texts, it is asked that the red flame of
Horus penetrates in the priest "like a spear in my hand" to take him through the "secret door". At
the end the priest Ank-af-na-Khonsu reaches the victory and cry "The Light is mine, her rays
consume me: I have crossed the secret door to the transformation, to the House of Ra and Tum, of Khepri and of
Ahathoor". He has returned to the Light's origin (Ra and Tum), crossing through the
transformation (Khepri) by mediation of Isis (Hathor).

Closing Statement

By the Love, by the Light, and by the Liberty! Be happy my brethren!

May the holy and intimate happiness of the welcomed Master fill and overflow you with eternal
peace!
Be strong each time with more strength and dominating energy to become heroes and to
combat the eternal enemy of the night!
Feel the plenitude of yourselves, like giant kings always working under his immaculate name!
Weave your sword and your spear to break the three enigmas of time, whose ghost has vanished

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

GR III D

THE

NIGHT OF MYSTERIES
FIGHT BETWEEN HORUS AND SETH
Opening Statement

O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:

nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
This is the Great Law; comprehend it, for all that emanates from it
springs from these three living sources: Wisdom. Love. Power.
This transcendental petition is mentioned by M. Samael several times in The Three Mountains.
In the First Initiation of Fire he says: "Really there is not resurrection from death, nor any dawn in the
nature of man without being preceded by darkness, sadness and nocturnal agonies that make its light more
adorable". 45 Anguished for the thickness of the darkness he exclaims it for the first time.
The second time is still more significant, since his Real Being complains with him for his fault.
The Master meditates on having forgotten his Father before the Guardian of the roads.
Therefore, he remembers the masterful lesson of the Great Kabiri in the Mount of Olives. 46
The third time, the Teacher crosses the 5 grade of the Venusians Initiations, the causal world.
He is instructed then in the symbol of Making the Father's Will; this is the position of the arms of
the Egyptian mummies, right on left. And the Teacher meditates again about Jesus Christ's
experience in the Mount of Olives, this time emphasizing on the three negations before the
incarnation of the Verb. And he will say: the particular Monad of each of us is transformed into the
most sublime Duality, our particular, individual Divine Mother Kundalini
Him and Her are actually the Gnostic Father-Mother, the Parsee Zeru-Ana, the dual Protogonos or Adam
Kadmon, the Theos-Chaos of The Theogony by Hesiod, the Chaldean Ur-Anas or Fire and Water, the Egyptian
Osiris-Isis, the Jah-Hovah, the Semitic Jehovah or Iod-Heve, etc., etc., etc.
The cabbalist Adam-Kadmon, the Rha-Sephira or Eternal Masculine-Feminine, conciliating in perfect harmony
above and below, in the infinitely large and in the infinitely small, constitutes the culminating note of the Mount
of Olives. 47
With the GR III D ends the reflections on the Law. Until now, each one of the rituals has begun
with the same warning: Do what you wish! This is the only Law, but thinks that you must account for all
your deeds. Do what thou wilt! This is the only Law, but thinks that you must account for all your deeds. This is
the Great Law, comprehend it
At the dawn of creation, the warning of the Only Law is listened: Go, fertilize my wife, the chaotic
mother, the Great Mother, so that life will emerge; but you will see. Beginning from then everything is
subject to the action of law and consequence. Until the Word is weighed before the Great
Judges and the balance is reestablished.

Come unto me!

In truth, in truth, I say unto you, that I eternally enjoy these three graces of Osiris-Ra.

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

Prayer

Oh Isis, Divine Mother Kundalini, Winged Serpent of Light, without you I would be lost.
You are the Gnostic secret of my Being, the core of my connection.
The winged sphere and the night-sky are yours.

Oh My Mother! Oh Isis!
I want to die myself so that my soul becomes lost in the eye of Horus, resurrects in

Horus the Restorer
In the Egyptian mythology, the eyes are related with the light that manifested through the
supreme stars of the sky: the sun, the right eye, and their reflection in the moon, the left eye.
The lunar phases are related with this left eye and the best known story is that of the eye of
Horus, hurt by its eternal enemy, Seth. In this story it is Thoth, Lord of the writing, of the time
and the sciences, represented by the baboon and the ibis, the one that becomes intercessor
between both litigants, but also on who relapses the cure and restoration of the eye, opening
the way to the so called eye oudja or Udyat, the healthy and complete eye.
Thoth Mercury is the restorer of the Unit. Seen as this, the myth of the Eye of Horus, recovered
after Seth pulls it up from him, symbolizes the divine Light trapped in matter, from where it
will be necessary to liberate it. For this reason it is said that the eye is the dwelling of the soul
and that it is almighty, because it possesses the means for its liberation.
Osiris is the Cosmic Christ, an Osirified man now has the Cosmic Christ, now no longer has subjective elements,
has now freed himself from that tragic wheel of lives and deaths wherein is rooted the cause of pain.
According to Egyptian wisdom, Thoth is Hermes, and Hermes is Mercury; the Great Hierophant, the Minister, the
Ambassador of the Solar Logos, the Great Instructor who elevates us from Initiation to Initiation. But, who is he
within us? He is the Ens Seminis ". 48
But in the Egyptian thought the eye is also related with the fabric and with its associate deity
called Sia, the knowledge. The relationship is given since the left eye, being connected to the
right side of the brain, and the right eye to the left side of the brain, they are interwoven. The
sublimation of this knowledge is associated with the third eye, represented by the cobra.
Therefore, the myth says, it became almighty when it "grew roots". The spiritual light or ank of
the Egyptians is associated to this central eye, the uraeus. The texts say that "the king absorbed the
seven frontal cobras that became the seven cervical vertebras that command the dorsal spine. 49
If one studies the Egyptian Book of the Dead, one sees that it is Isis who is called to put the Ego to death.
Without the Divine Mother the death of the Ego is impossible. The Essence is freed with the death of the Ego and
become lost in Osiris, the Divine Christ. The Essence resuscitates in the heart of Osiris. Where will our feelings, lour
attachments to things, and our desires be? All that will no longer exist. 50

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

Now then, in the Egyptian papyruses related with the enthronement and the coronation, the
Eye of Horus is identified with the crown itself. Therefore the ritual says: My son Horus is the
owner of the crown Ureret. The crown is the Eye of Horus itself. Restoring the eye could be
understood then as the Kings reestablishment. In the Texts of the Pyramids it is said that
"Horus has grown up and he takes possession of its Eye."
Thus, in the myth Horus is born after Seth has killed Osiris. Horus has grown to avenge his
father's death and to conquer Seth. Then, the coronation referred by the texts is understood as
the enthronement of Horus who now claims his legitimate inheritance, the Kingdom. Any
damage that he had suffered has been repaired. Seth hurt him or stole his eye, but this was
recovered and with it Horus recovers all its power. The Eye is the symbol of all power and all
virtue. The Eye of Horus is the one that grants him the capacity to revive his father Osiris.
Horus has taken possession of his Eye restoring his full powers.
We understand the above mentioned better when deepening in the words of M. Samael:
Do all of you know why the region of Buto was offered to Horus (the Divine Being within the human being)? I
know it, however, you you do not know it!"
Behold, Ra (The Solar Logos) gave this region to Horus (the Being of every human being) in order to compensate
him for the wound that he suffered in his eye (the third eye between the middlebrow).
Ra said unto Horus: Let me see what has happened to thine eye. Thus, He saw the eye Then, Ra said unto
Horus: Look there, be thou on guard against that Black Boar (the Ego). Thus, Horus (the Being, the Innermost)
spied on the Boar without rest. Whence, furiously the Boar attacked him.
Hence, Horus (the Being) said unto RA (the Logos), come and see the wound that Seth (the Black Boar) has
inflicted upon my eye (clairvoyance, the sixth sense destroyed because of the animal passions).
This Black Boar (the I) inspires nothing upon Horus (the Being), but only repugnance.
Only with the death of this Black Boar is how the Eye of Horus will again shine upon the forehead of the human
being. 51
In the Myth of Osiris, Isis undertakes the search of her murdered husband and, fearing the
persecution of Seth she leaves her child Horus under the care of the goddess Buto. The Egyptian
name of this divinity is Wadjet that derived in the Greek Udjo, Uto and finally Buto. It was the
patron goddess of the city of Per-Wadjet, the one that was originally two cities, Pe and Dep.
Wadjet became goddess of Lower Egypt, and as such she was associated to Nekhbet, goddess
from Upper Egypt, both known as the spouses of the Pharaoh.
The city of Buto was identified later on by the Greeks as Leto, the hidden one. The city was
called Letopolis then. Another name of this city was Khem or Kemi which means black earth
in Egyptian, 52 meaning the fertile lands that surround the Nile. From there the reference to
Egypt as the sunny country of Khem, the land of the color black. The divinity associated to the Nile is
Hapi, husband of Wadjet.
The whole plot of the myth will have as background the fight between Horus, the avenger, and
Seth, the black boar. Seth is the killer of Osiris, as the concretion or form that it is the death of
the latent force of the Logos, manifesting itself through the Cosmic Christ. The child will have
to grow, to recover what he owns and to conquer his enemy and his father's murderer, to
reconquer the lost throne and to restore the power of the great Osiris.

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

Seth the Killer

We ask for the death of Seth! May he die! May he die! May he die!
In Egypt, Seth is a divinity associated to the desert. This associates him to the sterility and the
color red, although considered powerful. It is the patron of Lower Egypt. As part of the Ennead
of Heliopolis, he is son of Nut and Geb, heaven and earth, and his wife is Nephtys, the fertile
earth around the Nile. Seth is brother of Osiris, patron of the deceased, and of Isis, patroness of
life. The sterility of Seth takes its wife Nephtys to engender her son with Osiris. The offspring
will be called Anubis, and this situation unleashed the anger of Seth that will take him to
murder his brother.
The myth says that in the battle against Horus, Lord of the High Egypt, this is, the battle for the
reunification of the Lower and Upper Egypt, Seth loses his testicles, what would explain his
impotence. Interesting it is to know that after the reunification of the two regions, when Horus
arrives to the throne of Ra and he reigns on the empire, Seth is granted a new roll and he is
identified as the main hero of Ra, he who fights every night against the snake Apophis during
the trip of Ra in his boat through the underworld.
The Greeks identified him later on with Typhon, the last of the children of Gaia, the mother
earth, this time with Tartarus, the lowest region in the underworld, the Hades.

Thoth the Mediator

Oh, Isis! You who madest Osiris to triumph over his enemies, also seize my enemies within your
snare, those are the terrible red demons, the horrible entities of Seth that personify our errors.
The day when Horus, my Being, obtains victory over Seth and his demons, I then deceased, will
triumph over my enemies, during the night of the feast in which the God Djed is elevated to
Djedu, before the Divinities that reside upon the paths of Death.
It is interesting that in the Egyptian texts we find Thoth playing the roll that here is granted to
Isis For example, the Book of the Dead says: "Hail, Thoth, who madest Osiris victorious over his enemies,
make thou the Osiris Ani, the scribe and teller of the sacred offerings of all the gods, to be victorious over his
enemies in the presence of the godlike rulers who judge the dead, on the night of the condemnation of those who
are to be blotted out." 53
Thoth is the Greek name given to the god Djehuty, Tahuti or Tehuti, lunar divinity of wisdom
and learning, of magic, writing and the measure of time. It is said that it was self engendered in
the beginning and along with his spouse, the goddess Ma'at, the Truth; they accompany Ra to
both sides in his boat during the celestial trip. Thoth is also considered the scribe in the scene
of the weighing of the soul at the Duat, the submerged world, where he appears in his shape of
baboon over the needle of the scales. This baboon is the one that informs the scribe if there is
balance in the weighing. In this scene is Osiris the one that judges the souls of the deceased.
Thoth is the Egyptian Hermes, the divine scribe and receiver of the Sacred Science, he who is
called "Lord of Wisdom", "the Mysterious One" and "the Unknown", but at the same time the mediator
between Heaven and Earth, because "without his knowledge, nothing can be made between gods and
men".

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

This intermediary function will be part of the Greek Hermes and of the Roman Mercury, both
represented winged for its air nature that unites the inferior real to the superior one, and both
carriers of the caduceus as symbol of its axial function, the one that carries out the bond
among the three worlds or realms of existence, the three grades of Thelema. Thoth-HermesMercury knows, then, "all that is hidden under the celestial vault and in the core of the earth",
that is to say the entirety of the mysteries of the Cosmos, knowledge that he only grants to
those of his lineage. 54

The Rising of Djed Pillar

The Papyrus of Ani continues: "The day when Horus is able to conquer Seth and his demons, Me, deceased,
I triumph over my enemies, in the night of the Feast where the God Djed is ascended in Djedu; before the divinities
that dwell upon the Paths of Death..."
The pillar Djed, with its capital divided in four bars, is the symbol of the stability, representing
the spine of Osiris. In accordance with the myth, when Seth murders his brother Osiris, he
throws him in a coffin to the Nile. This is dragged to the city of Biblos, in Phoenicia, where it is
caught by the roots of a tree. The pillar Djed is the symbol of that tree that grows around the
coffin and that it was used as pillar of the city palace. In Egypt, the cult center dedicated to
Osiris was the city of Djedu, known later on in the Greek world as Busilis.
Rebirth and resurrection are associated to the placement of the pillar Djed. The four capitals go
finished off by a disk of feathers or a crown. When it is located horizontally in the floor it
symbolizes Osiris dead, while its erection symbolizes the resurrection of this divinity. The
resurrection of Osiris whose representation of the rising of the pillar can be see in the temple of
Abidos, was a public ceremony that took place the thirtieth day of the month of Koiak, this is,
according to the alexandrine calendar, December 25.
According with the myth, when the cities of Pe and Dep reach their reunification then the
establishment of the Word takes place before the Tribunal. Osiris appears again seated before
the throne, now as the deceaseds' judge.

This always happens during the night of the Mysteries of Heliopolis before the powerful Lords of
Pe and Dep. The night of the establishment of the Word weighed before the Great Judges.
The night when Horus takes possession of the birthplace of the Gods.
The night when Isis, in bed, keeps vigil and mourns her beloved brother.
The night when Osiris triumphs over his enemies.
54

Stand, and be sober, and look up again with the eyes of your heart; and if you cannot all do so, yet do as many
as you can. For the malice of Ignorance surroundeth all the Earth, and corrupteth the Soul, shut up in the Body not
suffering it to arrive at the Havens of Salvation. Suffer not yourselves to be carried with the great stream, but stem
the tide, you that can lay hold of the Haven of Safety, and make your full course towards it. Seek one that may lead
you by the hand, and conduct you to the door of Truth and Knowledge, where the clear Light is that is pure from
Darkness, where there is not one drunken, but all are sober and in their heart look up to him, whose pleasure it is to
be seen. For he cannot be heard with ears, nor seen with eyes, nor expressed in words; but only in mind and heart.
But first thou must tear to pieces and break through the garment thou wearest; the web of Ignorance, the foundation
of all Mischief; the bond of Corruption ; the dark Coverture; the living Death ; the sensible Carcass, the Sepulchre,
carried about with us; the domestical Thief which in what he loves us, hates us, envies us. Corpus Hermeticum,

29

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

The cities of Pe and Dep were under the aegis of Wadjet, the cobra and of Nekhbet, the vulture.
The temple of the first one was known as the House of the Flame, while the temple of the second
was known as the Great House. The White Crown was established as symbol for the Upper
Egypt while the Red Crown was for the Lower Egypt. On the other hand Wallis Budge links
these cities with Horus and Isis, what helps us to understand the mentions of M. Samael: "Our
real alchemical food is in the city of Pe, which means in Lower Egypt, our sexual organs." 55 The restoration
of the lost unit is only possible through birth and sacrifice.
This reference of M. Samael to the sexuality is confirmed with the identification that the Greeks
made of Khem with Pan, Arcadian divinity of shepherds, flocks and fertility, and son of
Hermes.
Meanwhile, in the sacred city of Abidos took place the proclamation of Horus as "heir and
avenging of his father", when him, triumphant over his enemy Seth, took possession of the
birthplace of the gods. Horus is enthroned.
Likewise, "the night in that Isis cries" used to take place on June 20, summer solstice, coinciding
with her brother-husband's (Osiris) death, the sun's sacrifice in the solstice, the crucifixion.
The victory of Osiris is his resurrection: the rising of the pillar Djed.

Behold, four times Horus pronounces the words of power and his enemies lay crushed upon the
ground.
I, deceased, I pronounce the same words four times.
And M. Samael will say: Obviously, words we have to pronounce so that the physical body walks correctly;
words are those of the Verb that give origin to the Astral Body; words are those that give origin to the birth of the
Mental Body; words are those that give origin to the Body of the Conscious Will. Thus, the Verb is expressed in
those four ways, to originate those four births, four times. 56

Behold, Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, is celebrated in millions of feasts.

This happens while his enemies, the demons of Seth, are delivered to the great destruction of the
abysm and of the nothingness.
The red devils will never be able to escape the powerful vigilance of Keb!
Let us remember that Keb or Geb, son of Shu and Tefnut, the air and the dew, is the god of the
earth, husband and brother of Nut, the goddess of the starry sky. The ancient Egyptian culture
considered that it was Geb who trapped the souls of the weak ones so that they could not
enter to heaven. It was in his region under the earth, the inferior underworld, where he kept
the souls that didn't deserve to go to the Aaru, Yaaru, Iaru or Aalu, the celestial underworld
where Osiris governs. As to Melchizedek, it will be necessary to pay the tithes to Geb in order
to obtain freedom.
The souls that weighed less than Ma'at, the feather, they were sent to the Aaru to live in
happiness for all the eternity. This celestial underworld is also known as the field or region of
the offerings or Region of the Blessed ones, where the deceased that has died in itself and that has

achieved the balance of goddess's Ma'at, he who possesses the domain of shapes and metamorphoses, he
hopes to live next to the Lord of the Truth and the Justice.

My son Horus is the owner of the Ureret crown.

That is the crown of victory!
That is the crown of the deceased who have died in themselves!
The crown of goddess Wadjet, achieve only by those who have been able to reunify the
Kingdom, symbolized in ancient Egypt by the cities of Pe and Dep. It is the Red Crown.
Only those "deceased ones that have died in themselves" can achieve the crown of victory. He is then
called the wounded Ank-af-na-Khonsu whose literal translation would be "he who has been
murdered himself (self slain), the one that lives in Khonsu". It is interesting that this wound results
similar to that one of Christ in his side, the fifth stigma that not only kills him, but rather it
means to him the possibility, as M. Samael says, of reaching the resurrection:
Unquestionably the five Christic stigmata in the astral body form a Holy Cross
The Resurrection is not possible without having previously formed the stigmata of the Adorable in the astral
body
Thus I formed my stigmata, thus the mystics of all ages have formed theirs 57

31

III Night of Mysteries: The Fight Between Horus and Seth

It is interesting to notice that these four divinities of the death, children of Horus, they were
personified in the funeral glasses that accompanied the mummy. Each one of them takes the
deceased's entrails: Imset, also called Mesta, with human figure, it takes the liver. Hapi, the
baboon, the lungs. Duamutef, the jackal, takes the stomach. And Kebehsenuf, the hawk, the
entrails.
The Hip of Heaven is related by M. Samael to the constellation of Libra; therefore, it is
associated to the Law and the Lords of Karma. Master says: The Goddess Maat (Justice) comes unto
her Lord and God. You must remember that the functions of Karma reside in the brilliant constellation of the
Hip (Libra).... Praised be ye, oh ye planetary spirits from the constellation of the hip! 58
The Hip also makes reference to the "thigh", the northern sky, the big Dipper, recognizable by
the seven stars. In opposition Orion, the southern sky that appears with the face turned back.
The importance of this differentiation resides in that two ways are offered to the individual:
that one of the final liberation and the eternal life (the north), or the other one of the
reincarnation in a mortal body and beginning of a new experience (the south). In the time
where the pyramid of Keops was built (toward the 2700 B.C.) in the north the pole was
occupied by Alpha Draconis, the star around which the circumpolars rotates, they were called
"indestructible" because they never disappear in the horizon and for that, consequently, they
symbolized immortality. The King that has overcome the tests of the terrestrial life, will ascend
immortal to the northern sky of the Hip of the Heaven.
Eighteen years later: thundering and lightning I tore my garments protesting about so much pain. Oh! God! A
virgin from the Nirvana answered me: Such is the path you have chosen yourself. For us inhabitants of the
Nirvana the triumphs are less, and because of this we suffer less. However since your triumphs will be bigger your
sufferings will be also more intense ". 59

Meditation

There exists the Law of Katancy, Superior Karma.

The Saint, the Prophet, the esoterist, must not violate this holy law.
The faithful son loves his Mother and she guides him by the hand along the straight path.
The unfaithful son forgets his Mother; he goes astray and falls into error.
This reflection on the Nemesis deserves some important considerations. Master Samael, for
example, credits the consequences from this superior law to negligence, indifference and to the
lack of effort in the study, even emphasizing that we should not only learn how to act in the superior
worlds. 60 Later on he will say that it is for this Law that the Universe comes to the existence:
The Law of Katancy is complemented with the fact that the Absolute has to know itself. 61 The result is the
unevenness of the three gunes.
It is the Law of the superior Karma what originates the worlds: "Go and fecundate the chaotic matter, but, you
will see", it completes the order and then emanates the seven that enter in activity. From the seven, under the
impulse of the word, come another seven. They work in the temples. As the time passed they saw that the uncreated

light went away and they saw it as a Sun that went down - the Absolute Sun - and they were left in the
atmosphere. In this way this world is punished by the Karma of the Elohim. 62
And M. offers us another interesting fact: The Luciferic-Christic host who incarnated in the archaic
Lemuria (induced by that nemesis or Superior Karma that controls the ineffable ones and that is known as the
Law of Katancy) committed the mistake of falling into animal generation. 63
This Nemesis, in Greek mythology, refers to the deity of retributive justice, regrettably translated
today as vengeance. The Nemesis is the personification of the retribution as consequence of the
violation of the sacred law. In Egypt, it is under the aegis of Ma'at.
Now; karma means literally act or fact. It is said that basically exist three karmic circumstances:
the total sum of the past karmas still to solve; the portion of the first one that one must
experience in the present life; and the karma that is created at the moment and that it will
produce its consequences in the future.
This is essential to understand the importance of the equilibrium of the scales in the Gnostic
rituals. This is the only possible way to achieve the final liberation, which is called Redemption.
Redemption implies then to recover something that was already, something that one already
had, but that one now no longer possess. Then, when one has the resources, that something is
redeemed. And the Redemption can only take place when anything owes you and anything is
owed.
The following reflection of Sivananda explains the manifestation of the divinity in the process
of karma. In their translation of the Upanishads, the Swami relates the creator's relationship
with what is created, with his fruit: "Two birds of beautiful plumage and of inseparable friendship, they
dwell on the only and same tree. Of these two, one eats of the sweet fruit while the other watches without eating."
In his comment, Sivananda interprets the birds as the individual soul and the divinity Brahma.
The soul is essentially a reflection of Brahma. The tree represents the body, the creation; and
the soul is identified then with the body harvesting this way the fruits of its own actions,
which are translated in rebirths and returns, while Lord Brahma remains as an eternal witness,
without feeding of that fruit, because He is the director of both, of the one that eats and of
what it is eaten.
Life, power and the stability represent in the Egyptian myth the balance of the scales. These
elements are represented in the staff of that one who resuscitates in the Sacred Bull Apis, deity
of Memphis, of who was said it was the incarnation of Osiris or of Ptah. The ankh symbolized
the life and it is related with the bulls thoracic vertebrae. The was symbolized the power, and it
a kind of staff made from the bull's penis. And the stability was related with the djed, the base
or sacred bone of the spinal column of the animal. In the Hellenic culture this Apis, the alive
deceased, Aser-hapi (Osiris-Apis), will end up being known as Serapis. 64

62

S.A.W., Parsifal Unveiled, Ch. 18.
64
Serapis, product of the fusion of Osiris and Apis, it was adopted as universal deity by several primitive Gnostic
groups whose cult gained great importance during the Roman empire. He is represented under Pluto's aspect or
Hades, divinities of the underworld, enthroned with a headdress on his head (modius) that represented for the
Greeks the land of the deceased. He has a staff in his hand with the figure of the uraeus and to his feet rests
Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld. In the Hellenic world, Serapis was an important deity, associated to Osiris,
accompanied by his wife Isis and his son Horus under the figure of the Greek god Harpocrates. Also of Anubis,
identified with the three-headed dog.

IV Amenti: The Power Over Destiny

GR IV D

THE

AMENTI
POWER OVER DESTINY
Opening Statement

Conjure the enemies of the eight Kabirs! I will protect you! Combat the eight antitheses!
With this statement an entire reflection begins around the equilibrium of the scales, represented
through the confrontation with the demon with the head of a crocodile.
Before the reflections on the Book of the Dead, we have to consider that this ritual of IV D
have a special characteristic that makes it different to the previous ones. Contrary to the ritual
I, II and III, it does not have the sentence on the Law. This detail is extremely important and it
will set a guideline that will stay from now on until the final culmination. The abovementioned is emphasized when we see that now the priest officiates with its sword in hand.
The sword, associated with the scales, has a special relationship with the justice. Being a symbol
of the axis it is identified with the central alignment of the scales, the needle, which is called the
faithful. Therefore, the sword is understood as mediator and conciliatory of the oppositions, for
example where to temper the sword means to marry water and fire.
For M. Samael, the sword is a symbol of the Universal Justice: Justice, Lion, Scales and Sword, they
are intimately associated. The Justice, inside of us, is a self-conscious part of the Being. The Justice, inside of us,
should Self-Realize intimately. Minerva (daughter of Jupiter), inside of us and as an autonomous and selfconscious part of the Being, it is the cardinal Virtue of Justice. Minerva: Goddess of Wisdom and lady of Justice is
the Flower of the Great Work, the Mystic Rose. 65 As we will see later on, the Rose is the symbol of the
perfect balance.
And he adds in another text: Lucifer Prometheus is one with the Platonic Logos, the Minister of the
Demiurge Creator and resplendent Lord of the Seven Mansions of Hades (the Inferno), Sabbath and the
manifested world, to whom have been entrusted the Sword and the Scales of Cosmic Justice, since he is,
indubitably, the rule of weight, measure and number; Horus, Brahma, Ahura-Mazda, etc., always ineffable.

66

Get thee hence demon with the crocodile face...

The whole reflection around what we could call the great reconciliation goes around the
confrontation with the antitheses of the Eight Kabirs. These Kabirs or Kabirim represent the
seven planets or the hebdomad of the Gnostics, accompanied by their father the sun. It is the
representation from the ascent to the different heavens, the conquest of each one of them as a
result of the corresponding descent to each one of their respective hells, their antitheses. Thoth,
as Lord of the Cycle, governs over the planets.
In Phoenicia as in Egypt, they were always the seven planets from the antiquity, those which, together with their
father the Sun, or their bigger "brother, they constitute a powerful group of eight entities; the eight superior powers,
or the advisers of the Sun that executed around it the sacred circular dance, symbol of the rotation of the planets
around the Sun. Thus, while in Samothrace and the oldest Egyptian temples they were the great Cosmic Gods (the

seven and the forty-nine Sacred Fires), in the Grecian fanes their rites became mostly phallic: Axieros (in his female
aspect, Demeter); Axio-Kersa (Persephone); Axiokersos (Pluto or Hades); and Kadmos or Kadmilos (Hermes -- not
the ithyphallic Hermes mentioned by Herodotus (II. 51) but "he of the sacred legend," explained only during the
Samothracian mysteries). [] their cult was always connected with fire; their temples ever built in the most
volcanic localities, and in exoteric worship they belonged to Chthonian divinities. Therefore Christianity has made
of them infernal gods. They were the Kabirs divinities surrounded of so deep and impenetrable mystery that no
profane was allowed to speak nor name them, and in Memphis they had a sacred temple that, as Herodotus says,
anybody, outside of the priests, was allowed to enter in its enclosure. 67
Interesting story that endorses the words of M. Samael: Meditate on the Sacred Order of Tibet. Evoke
those Eight Kabirs or Kabirim of the sign of Infinity; those Eight Brothers; ineffable Semitic Divinities whose cult
and mysteries were passed afterwards to the Greeks and Romans. Their special center was found in Samothrace.
68
And their antipodes... Just as there are 8 Kabirs, there are also 8 Anti-Kabirs which are the antitheses; two
in each cardinal point. The Initiate have to fight with the 8 Black Kabirs; one cannot ascend without descending.
69

The Crocodile
Synthesis of Osiris and Typhon
The Egyptian story of the confrontation with the crocodile is found in the Book of Coming Forth
By Day, known as Book of the Dead, in chapters 31 and 32. 70 But to be able to understand it we
will have to meditate first in the dual meaning of the crocodile, and in the circumstances that
surround the scene of the confrontation.
The crocodile was considered in Egypt as "The Great Reptile of Typhon" 71 , worshipped in
Crocodropolis and consecrated to Seth and Sebek. Typhon is understood as the material aspect
of Osiris, this is, the Father's manifestation that will end up becoming his killer. For this reason
the crocodile in Egypt was adored and at the same time execrated.
In the traditional Kabbalah Binah is considered as the perpetual opponent of the dynamic
impulses of Chokmah, the virile impulse of Kether, because the idea of the destruction of the
force is implicit in the descent of life to the planes of the form. For this reason Typhon becomes
the murderer of the force of Osiris, taking it and dismembering it in 14 pieces and throwing it
to the Nile. Typhon, in the Egyptian myth, represents the terrestrial material cover of Osiris.
In Chapter 42 of the Book of the Dead, Typhon is described as "Seth, previously called Thoth", and
Seth-Typhon is invoked in some papyruses as a "god great and good". Surprisingly it is the
castration what makes the difference between the dispenser of life and the giver of death, as
happens between Thoth and Seth and between Saturn and Uranus.
M. Samael says: Bel and the Dragon, Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl, Apollo and Python, Krishna and Kaliya,
Osiris and Typhon, Michael and the Red Dragon, St. George and his Dragon, these are always the individual,
divine Logoi and their doubles, projected in our own psyche for our own well being. 72

IV Amenti: The Power Over Destiny

This Thoth-Mercury is an essential figure in the alchemical transformation. "Son of the Chaos",
Mercury appears as the androgynous agent for change that "consists of all the oppositions, material
and spiritual, and he drives the process by which the material and inferior is transformed in spiritual and
superior, and vice versa." 73
This Hermes-Thoth-Mercury is the essential agent for transformation that assumes all the
forms and executes his power to cure, to destroy, to complete, to disintegrate, to give good
sense or to make it lose. For that reason says the alchemical text:
I [Mercurius] am the poisondripping dragon who is everywhere... My water and fire destroy and put
together...but if you do not have exact knowledge of me, you will destroy your five senses with my fire. From my
snout there comes a spreading poison that has brought death to many. I am also the carbuncle of the sun, the
most noble and purified earth, through which you may change copper, iron, tin, and lead into gold. 74
We will now understand the words of the M. Samael on the crocodile when he says:
One cannot enter the Absolute before passing through the Great Death, and the Essence submerges in the Being.
In the path to the Absolute one has to descend, it is there where one becomes a dead crocodile. 75
This divine crocodile is the Innermost. It is the crocodile that seizes its prey like a ravenous beast. These pray are
the psychic extractions of all the vehicles of the Innermost that He assimilates in order to self-realize as Master of
the Mahavantara. He is the great and mighty fish that emerges from the waters of life in order tom create the
interior universe. He is the Lord who lives within ourselves and before whom we bow and prostrate. 76

Nether-Khertet
The Divine Underground place
The scenes that continue in the ritual of IV degree refer to the psychostasia, the weighing of the
soul. To understand this scene it is necessary to comprehend the words of M. Samael in Tarot
and Kabbalah, when he says: The death of the Initiate: The Egyptian Book of the Dead is for they who live
and are dead, one must know how to understand this; it concerns the Deceased Initiates who, even though they are
already dead, live: they have already entered the Region of the dead and appear in the light of day to give their
teachings. 77
In the Egyptian theology we find two underworlds: The Region of the Blessed Ones or Aaru is the
celestial and divine underworld where Osiris governs, as the deceaseds' divinity. Those souls,
whose weight was smaller than that of the feather of Ma'at, were sending to the Aaru to live in
happiness for all the eternity. This was also known as the field or region of the offerings. The
Aaru is the second division of the Amenti and the description made of this place is that one of
the tarot card number 13: surrounded by a wall, is a field of wheat where the "deceaseds" are
represented reaping the field for the "Lord of the Eternity". Some wheat shafts are three elbows
high, other five, and the highest, seven. Whoever reaches these last two numbers, they enter in
the state of blessedness. The disincarnated spirits, whose crop only had three elbows of height,
went to the infernal regions. The wheat was among the Egyptians the symbol of the Law of
Retribution or Karma.

IV Amenti: The Power Over Destiny

In opposition, the souls that were not worthy were prisoners in the other underworld, the one
submerged, prisoners of Geb or Keb, without possibility of ascending to heaven.
The Book of the Dead is understood as the "story of the trip through the underworld by those Initiates
that look for the Perfection of Mastery", where the Khu, or causal body, goes accompanied in its
perfection by the Sekhem that means to "have mastery on something". 78 The stories of the chapter
31 and 32 are performed in a region called Nether-Khertet, this is, the divine underground place. 79
We will try to describe the scene of the ceremony:

In the center, the scales.

In the plate of the left, the deceased's heart (his consciousness) locked in an urn.
In the other plate, the ostrich feather (the truth and justice of Ma'at).
To the right Toth, with ibis head, registers the sentence.
To the left Anubis, jackal head, leads the deceased to the scales holding in his other hand the
Ansata cross, the eternal life.
In the center, Anubis watches over the needle of the scales, while the deceased pronounces
the negative confession, enumerating all the not made faults, trying to reach the justification.
To his feet the devourer, Ammit, with crocodile head, open jaws, hippopotamus body, looks
at Toth who will pronounce the sentence.
Your words will be weighed on the scales! If there is balance, you will return to see the Light, and if not, you will
remain in darkness!
The scene is given in presence of the great gods: Ra, Osiris, Horus, and Isis, attended by the 42
advisers.
Ammit
The Devourer
One of the most interesting characters in the scene is Ammit or Ammut, because she is the
personification of the divine retribution. Egyptian mythology says that Ammit lives near the
scales of justice, in the buried world called the Duat, "where Anubis weighs the heart of the dead
against Ma'at", the personification of truth and justice. The heart of those that fail the test falls in
the jaws of Ammit who devours it, without allowing him to enter to the Aaru.
Ammit was represented with the head of a crocodile, the body of a lion, and the backside of a
hippopotamus, the combination of all fierce creatures to the Egyptians.
In the hour of death, she separates all the values of the soul to take them to the weighing
ceremony. When there are not balance and kardias falls, Ammit devours it without any right to
resurrection.

Your words will be weighed on the scales!

If there is balance, you will return to see the Light, and if not, you will remain in darkness!
Return then, once again, to the womb of the earth.
Be vigilant, persevere and reflect; you still have time! 80

IV Amenti: The Power Over Destiny

Meditation
The Spell to the Demon with the Crocodile Face
[Fragment]

Get thee hence demon with the crocodile face, you whose dwelling is in the West!
I know you feed on the signs of the Zodiac.
How so! Would you viciously attack the forehead of Osiris? Then, listen: I am Ra!
Know that the spirit serpent Naau dwells in my breast....
Get thee hence demon with the crocodile face, you whose dwelling is in the East!
You who feed on those who devour refuse.
That which I carry in my heart is that which you most detest.
In truth, I am Osiris.
The serpent Goddess Naau dwells in my breast!
I release her against you, look at her! Your fire will not be able to harm me.
Get thee hence demon with the crocodile face, you whose dwelling is in the South!
You who subsist among refuse and faeces.
May the red flame not be in your hand!!
I am, watch me well, Septu, the solar Divinity!
Look at me! Safe and sound I am, walking among flowers fully bloomed.
Know, then that I shall not be delivered unto you. No!
Get thee hence demon with the crocodile face, you whose dwelling is in the North!
You, who subsists upon violence, of which you take advantage, hour by hour.
May your poison, then, not be for me, for, in truth, I am Tum!
Look! The Goddess Serket dwells in my bosom.
In truth, I am the emerald-eyed Goddess.
Amenti
Abode of the Dead
The dwelling of the god Amen, or Amoun, the secret "hidden" god. It is the Kingdom of Osiris,
divided in fourteen parts, each one of those was dedicated to a purpose related with the
deceased's future life. Among other things, the Hall of Judgment was in one of these divisions.
It was the "Western Land", the "Secret Mansion", the "Dark Land" and the "House without
Door". But it was also Kerneter, the "abode of the gods" and the "land of the spirits or
shadows", as the Greek Hades. It was also the "House of the Father God" (in which there are
"many mansions"). The fourteen divisions included, among many other, Aanroo, the Hall of
the Two Truths, the Land of Blessedness, Neter-xer "the funeral place or cemetery", Otamer-xer
the "Fields of gentle silence", and also other many halls and mystic mansions.

As for my Being, he has been sublimated and exalted. My larynx reposes in the bosom of my
Celestial Father, the Ancient God, the Great One, who has placed within the reach of my power,
the beautiful Amenti, land of the dead both for those condemned and those who will live.

39

IV Amenti: The Power Over Destiny

And the text from the Book of the Dead says: Concerning to himself, this god, in times of great power,
resides there also, eternally inert and still...
To what Master Blavatsky says: "The worst of all (the regions of the Amenti) was the Hall of Darkness and
eternal Dream. This is the mansion of the Totally-Dead god. Everybody shiver when pray to him, because he does
not listen. Nobody can glorify him, because he doesn't look those that adore him. Neither has he taken care of any
offering presented to him. This god is Karmic Ordinance; Land of Silence, the region of those that unavoidably
will have to return, those that are driven with more or less speed toward the Amh, the "exit door". 81

Brethren, the meditation has ended.
With us is the Prophet of Ra-Hoor-Khu!
The ceremony concludes with the deceased's declarations that he has achieved the balance of
the scales. Transformed now into the Sacred Bull Apis, it is the same incarnation of Osiris (to
see note 64). He takes in his staff the attributes of the resuscitated one: the ankh, life; the was,
power; and the djed, since he is the Lord of the Immutable Stability.
He lives now beyond the pillars that support heaven, the western sky, called Manu, and the
east one, Bakhu. Among these two pylons it is akhet, the horizon, and as hieroglyphic it is the
representation of the god Aker, the God of Double Lion or of the double lion head.

I possess loaves from the offerings of Heliopolis.

My loaves are in the heavens, before Ra.
On Earth, his loaves are before Keb.
As Osirified he will manifest himself in the following ritual.

Hail, oh Osiris!
Closing Statement

I am the Sacred Bull, Lord of the Heavens, Master of the light that issues from the flame.

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

GR V D
OSIRIS
THE BALANCE

OF THE

SCALES

Opening Statement

Hail, Oh Osiris! Good being, triumphal, son of Nut, firstborn of Keb, Ancient God, owner of the
breath of life, Great Prince of the West and of the East, Lord of the Mysteries that instill fear.
Listen to our pleas, in the deepest recesses of the Being, we await you!
Osiris, agrarian god, inexhaustible power of the vegetation; identified later with the sun that
symbolizing in his nocturnal phase the continuity of births and rebirths. Osiris is the universal
vital activity, terrestrial or celestial. In the visible form of a god, he descends to the world of the
dead to allow the regeneration and, lastly, the resurrection in the Osirian glory; because all
justified dead is a germ of life in the depths of the cosmos, exactly as a wheat grain is in the
womb of the earth. 82
M. Samael says that In the Egyptian Theogony the Father (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is Osiris or Ra; and
Ra is the Logos with its three aspects. When the Monad is spoken of, it is Osiris who is being referred to; it is He
who have to Self-Realize, and in turn unfold into Father, Mother and Son. The Son unfolds into the Essence, and
this one swallows us, leaving the Monad Self-Realized. 83
Osiris, the Collective Unit, when he is differentiated and incarnate he becomes Typhon, his
brother; Isis and Nephtys, his sisters; Horus, his son; and his other aspects. 84 As solar deity, he
has under him the twelve lesser gods, the twelve signs of the zodiac. Although his name is the
"Ineffable", his forty two attributes have each one of them one of his names, and his seven
dual aspects completed the number forty nine, or seven times seven; symbolized the first ones
for the fourteen members of his body, or twice seven. Thus, the god is fused in the man, and
the man is deified or transformed into a god.
The name Osiris is associates from the sixth dynasty with the Justified one or Makheru, as the
deceased was also called. 85 Horus the child, with his finger on his mouth, always indicates the
divine Word or Logos. He is the Virgin Mother's son that always remains as a child. However,
he is not yet the True Voice or the Voice of the Truth; he is only the Imperfect Voice, the Inarticulate
Speech. But, as well as the boy's voice changes and he becomes virile during puberty, this way
in his second and more virile character, Horus, as representation of the Father, becomes the
True Voice, and he is the incarnated "Voice of the Truth." Under this character Horus was
personified as Har-Makheru, this is, Horus, the "Voice of the Truth". In the Egyptian texts the
Word of Horus is Truth; the role that has been trusted to him by their Father. Horus conquers
his enemies with the Word of the Truth. It is also said of the Osirified deceased, that he
continues with the Word of the Truth.
For this reason Horus assumes the figure of a child, known as Hoor-para-kraat or Heru-pa-kraath
("Har the child"), and that in the Hellenic culture it was manifested as Harpocrates, who is
represented as a child and with his finger on his lips. The Word is always associates to the

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

Pneuma. As a Pharaonic sentence says "Give us the encouragement for the gift that in you the Word of the
Truth".
Horus then, as Har-Makheru, the Word of Truth, is the Christ that through his crucifixion and
resurrection re-establishes his Father's Kingdom, or can be also say, he enthrones his Father
again in the Kingdom. Therefore, we find Horus in Tiphereth, as the sacrificed divinity that he
is.
According to the Book of the Dead, "Osiris is the Principle good and bad; the diurnal and
nocturnal Sun; the God and the mortal man". The Sun dies, but it reborn under the form of
Horus, son of Osiris; the Good succumbs under the blows of the Evil, but it reborn in the form
of Horus, son and avenger of Osiris, representation of all rebirth, and with this name reappears
the sun in the eastern horizon of the sky. In his quality of dead or missing sun, Osiris is the
king of the divine inferior region or Amenti.
In the Myth of Osiris, he is locked in a coffer by envious enemies and by his brother Seth, and
hurtled later to the waters of the river Nile. Then he will be the subject of a great search, as the
Grail of the Middle Age. Mutilated, broken, resuscitated by the breath of two goddesses, Isis
and Nephtys, often depicted with large wings, it symbolizes the drama of the soul that, heading
to the death, triumphs over it. Osiris is the dead and resuscitated god and he is represented as
sovereign with his three attributes: scepter, whip and staff (ankh, was and djed). In the Osirian
Myth we clearly find three different phases:
1. In the coffer: the integration delimited by the coffer itself.
2. Osiris mutilated: the disintegration.
3. Osiris reintegrated: the restoration endowed with the eternal soul.

Look, most beloved Gnostic brethren! Heaven is open on this night of Mysteries, the earth is
open; the doors are wide open, the gates are open. The bolts are drawn back and behold;
Osiris-Ra appears on the throne.
Ra, as the great solar god of Heliopolis, is a child in the morning; a man at noon and an old
man in the afternoon. Of him it is said that he travels through the underworld during the
night, to reborn at dawn.
In the Myth of Osiris it is said that when he comes to life again - thanks to his son who feeds
him with his eye, the one that Seth had blown up - then he is enthroned by Horus in
company of Isis and Nephtys. The gods judge Osiris and with Thoth as mediator and lawyer,
the judges declare that he had lived a pure and true life. Then Osiris, resurrected, occupies the Seat
of Judgment from where he is allowed to judge the souls of the "deceased", those who have
died in themselves.
We find in the Christian world a very interesting analogy of this moment. In the story of Pistis
Sophia, Jesus eulogizes the interpretation that Andrew makes of the sixth repentance and Mary
interprets his words saying: "Yea, Lord, I have understood the word which thou host spoken. Concerning
then the word which thou hast said: At the dissolution of the whole Mixture thou shall take thy seat on a light
power and thy disciples, that is ourselves, shall sit on the right of thee, and thou shall judge the tyrant gods, who
have not given up the purification of their light, and the wise fire will bite into them, until they give up the last
light in them, concerning this word when thy light-power prophesied a foretime through David, in the eighty-first
Psalm, saying: God shall sit in the assembly (synagogue) of the gods and try the gods. 86

86

S.A.W., Pistis Sophia Unveiled, Ch. 45.

43

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

This is even more interesting when we read that this moment happens when when the perfect
number is completed, so that the Mixture shall be dissolved. The perfect number, M. Samael will say, is
the sum of all the Parts of the Being, and the mixture, he will say in the same text, is the world
of the destruction, mixture of laws and forces. This Mixture of Laws and Forces, as M. Samael
describes it in chapter 8, is understood as the Chaos, the descent from Binah to Chesed that
produces as a result the world of the creation. But also as the mixture of values, the diverse
that conforms our Being's reality.
For the above-mentioned: when the Mixture shall be dissolved would mean not only the
withdrawal of the Chaos in its return to the Origin, but also the process of reunification of the
values or reconciliation of the broken numbers, until achieving the perfect number!, a whole
number.
Those tyrant gods, Master will say, are really those autonomous and independent parts of the Being who are
bottle up in lights which are not the Christic light. Yet, they persist in purifying their light which is not the Light
of the Lord.
Interesting it is also that this process is associated to Andrew. The fight for the disintegration of
the defects Andrew takes it in his wisdom of the crosses, combinations, Solve et Coagula,
because the disintegration of the defects is a result of the reunification of that which is broken
into fragments. Master will say that in the center of Saint Andrew's cross it glows the Solar
Logos. His symbol is the Rose, the Rose Cross. This cross symbolizes illumination, revelation, after
frightful sacrifices. 87

Amen-Smen
The Mystery of Paradise

Sex is sacred! The pleasures of love are terribly divine. The spear of Eros and the cup of Hermes
constitute the lingam-yoni of the Greek Mysteries. Enjoy the sexual bliss but reduce to dust the
animal ego! Remember that in the Amen-Smen Gods and Goddesses adore and love each other.
Now that the perfect number has been achieved, which is the total number, the totality or
fullness, without fragmentations, without debit and credit; then he is instructed in the mysteries
of the Egyptian paradise.
M. Samael says: The enchanted night of love symbolizes the vulgar infra obscurity of ignorance and evil
magic, as well as the super-obscurity of silence, and the august secret of the wise (the Yaksha and Rajkshas of
Mahabharata).
It is written with diamond words in the book of all creation: Whosoever wants to ascend must first of all
descend.
The conquest of the Ultra-Mare-Vite or Super Liminal and Ultra-Terrestrial world would be absolutely impossible
without the wise transmutation of the Sophic Mercury.
The nubile maidens and the wise males from Amen Smen, the Egyptian Paradise, suffered greatly within the
Averno, living at the shores of the Styx lake. You know this.
To transmute the water into wine such as the great Kabiri Jesus taught in the weddings of Cana is something
more bitter than bile.
The white dove of the Holy Spirit displayed on the weapons and embroidered on the cloaks of the Knights of the
Holy Grail, the Sacred Swan, the miraculous Hamsa, the Phoenix Bird of paradise, the immortal Ibis,
marvelously shines upon the profound waters of life.
87

S.A.W., Op.cit. Ch. 53.

44

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

From within the profound bottom of the Styx Lake, within the terrible profundities of the Averno, emerge Gods
who lose themselves within the Abstract Absolute Space.
The light emerges from the darkness and the cosmos sprouts from the Chaos 88
And he adds: How can we indeed comprehend the profound mystery of the rebellion in heaven if we do not rip
the veil which covers the Luciferian mysteries? Let us remember the seven children of Inertia from the Egyptian
Mysteries who were thrown out from AM-SMEN, or paradise. 89
This Amen-Smen or Paradise of the Eight, is the Supreme Ogdoad of the Gnostics, called the middle
in Valentinian theology, the veil between the supercelestial place and the chaos, also known as
the circle of the fixed stars, in opposition with the planets as pilgrim stars goes that represent
the Hebdomad or region of the seven, the destiny. About this Ogdoad Ireneus will say: This
mother they also call Ogdoad, Sophia; Terra, Jerusalem, Holy Spirit, and, with a masculine reference, Lord. Her
place of habitation is an intermediate one, above the Demiurge indeed, but below and outside of the Pleroma, even
to the end. 90

May the reincarnated Gods never take woman, if Osiris-Ra does not take her!
May the feminine Divinities not wed any male, if Osiris-Ra does not approve it!
The executioners of the Law will decapitate the violators of the Law with the flaming sword!
In the Night of Mysteries, when the doors are open and the bolts are drawn, Osiris-Ra appears
in the Throne. The Night of Mysteries is the Night of the Psychostasia. The scene is set before
the Lord of the Great Balance, Osiris-Ra. The balance prevails and then it is noticed...
Gods..., no female! Goddess..., no male!
What does it mean then to take woman... to take male?
Why is this fault punished with the decapitation?
Let us see the story that makes M. Samael of their own experience: ...I maintained the same body;
unfortunately, I repeat, I made a mistake in the old Asian continent, in the Himalayas (in the Central Plateau of
Asia, when the Aryan race began to exist on the face of the earth).
... I had been prohibited to take wife, because for the Children of the God they it is forbidden to take women, we no
longer needed them, but I didn't obey and I failed for that side... "
... Then I took wife; as a result my Divine Mother called me to a deep cavern and she showed me the luck that
awaited me. I saw rain, tears, everything, illnesses, misery, I saw myself as a wandering Jew for all the towns of
the earth... Conclusion: I had fallen already, they removed me that immortal, splendid body of the Lemuria, and I
was subjected to the wheel of births and deaths... 91
Beautiful testimony of M. Samael about his Sophic experience, story that we can either read
literally and then enter into an endless mental discussion, or let it touch us, and read it from
the perspective of the living myth, of which Samael is today, the maximum expression.
Just take in consideration that the called plan of the divine evolution is the great story of all
stories. Therefore, the story of the first subrace of the Fifth Race, reading it in a mythological
language, takes us from that primeval Immortal Sacred Earth to the manifestation in the earth
of the Noble Generation, where those that have received the Revelation live. In this account, as
M. says, is the moment called taking of woman or taking of wife, when the whirlpool of the

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

creation begins, unchaining the world of the creation and the law of Causality, this is, the
Samsara.
The taking of woman or the marriage with male, implies an undeniably differentiation of what
is not differentiated. When the polarity takes place, the connubium of both forces sprouts a
third one. Consequently, the opposite formula of this polarization is found in the words of the
Great Conciliator, the Christ, when he says When you make the two into one... so when you
make male and female into a single one... then you will enter the Kingdom". 92
Master Samael says: Knocking on the doors of the Thirteen Aeon signifies to submerge within the Infinitude
that sustains all. Any longing for a separate existence, or to be someone, is enough to be released from Aelohim
and to fall under the realm of the Demiurge Creator. 93
Furthermore, that "yearning" to "be somebody" is translated in the crystallization of the Holy
Spirit, what means the Divine Husband's unfolding (Holy Spirit) in the Divine Wife (Mother)
that form the Original Couple this is, to "take woman". Therefore M. Samael will say in Pistis
Sophia, chapter 6: In Kabbalah, the Secret Jesus-Christ emerges from Chokmah [2nd. Logos]. He descends
form this region in order to penetrate the womb of His Mother. Her Mother is the wife of Binah [3rd. Logos, Holy
Spirit]. The Virgin is the Daughter of her Son and the wife of the Holy Spirit.
This Mysterium Magnum of the Father's Work will be known from now on as the hurling of the
Stone, the mystery of the rebellion of Lucifer.

The Maha Asura

The Rebellion of Lucifer

Never forget the Maha-Asura! The Hindu Lucifer who rebelled against Brahma, the Engenderer,
for which reason Shiva cast him into Patala, the nether world.
Blavatsky explains 94 the association of the Asuras (Sanskrit) with wicked gods or demons, but
that in fact it is a term applied to the Supreme Spirit, granting a spiritual character to these
principles. The name comes from Asu, the breath, with which Brahma creates them. Later on
the negative prefix a was added. Ra, means to possess, a spiritual or divine being that
possesses the breath of Brahma, equivalent to the great Ahura of the Zoroastrians.
Maha Asura is Christus Lucifer. He comes from Brahma, the Unmanifested Father and also the
Begetting Chokmah. Shiva, as Marah, is the Great Sea or Womb of everything, the one that
precipitates the whirlpool. Shiva is the third person of the Hindu Trimurti. It is said that in his
character of "Destroyer" he is higher than Vishnu, the "Conservative", since he destroys only to
regenerate in a higher plane. In the Kabbalah, Shiva or Ziva is then associated to Binah, the
giver of the Form and consequently the destroyer of the dynamic Force (Chokmah).
The Patala, on the other hand, refers to the underworld region inhabited by the Nagas or snake
men, region that as the Egyptian Aaru differs from the Naraka or place of the humans'
punishment. The Patala is understood as an abyss, a tomb, place of the death, the door of the
Hades or Sheol (Hebrew hell). In the Hindu initiations it was said that the candidate had to go
through the womb of the cow before going to the Patala.

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

M. Samael deepens in many of his works on Lucifer and his mystery. In Parsifal Unveiled and in
The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac 95 he says:
"Lucifer is the Logos in his higher aspect, and the "opponent" in his lower aspect, being reflected both in and
inside each one of us".
The Philosophers Stone (Lucifer-Xolotl) lies in the depths of our own sexual organs and has to reconcile the
opposites coincidentia oppositorum- and to the enemy brothers. 96
Undoubtedly, Xolotl-Lucifer is not at all a foreign element to our psyche; on the contrary, he is certainly the
shadow of our Divine Being within our Innermost individual depth.
There exists the Luciferic temptation, unique didactic, prodigious pedagogy, amazing attraction, unmistakable
incentive; occult motivation with secret and divine purposes, seduction, fascination.
Xolotl means dog as well as twin. Father Sahagun states that the dog is the symbol of the fire of celestial
origin The sexual fire, the dog, the erotic instinct, the Nahua Lucifer, is that extraordinary and marvelous agent
that can transform us radically
Undoubtedly, the dog and the tiger are esoterically linked in the same task

97

"Whosoever wants to ascend must first descend!

All exaltation is preceded by a terrible humiliation!"

Lucifer is ladder to ascend, Lucifer is ladder to descend. Law is the Law and the Law is fulfilled!
Lucifer is the reflection of the Christ in us.
The true nature of Lucifer is explained, therefore, the purpose of the creation. Let us read the
explanations of M. Samael 98 , that we have underlined:
Prometheus-Lucifer is a mysterious fire detached from the Solar Logos and wisely fixed in the center of the earth
by the force of gravity and the weight of the atmosphere. 99
It is written with golden words in the book of life: The superlative ingredient of the Anima Mundi is the
Luciferian phosphorus
[]In the resplendent dawn of the Mahamanvantara, when the human being and the terrestrial chain were
going to appear, an Angel (the shadow of the Lord), filled with a desire for progression, was produced from the
presence of the Logos like an enchantment. Thus, it is obvious that the Divine Architect of the universe granted to
him the dominion of the Infernal Worlds.
Hence, it is unquestionable that the superior semblance of that vile worm that passes through the heart of the
world is loan, Swan, Choan, John, the Verb, the Army of the Voice, the Logos. 100
Prometheus-Lucifer, descending to the bottom of the Averno to liberate the victims from their tortures, reminds us
of Hercules, the Solar God, descending into Hades or the Cave of the Initiation to save the lost souls.
Lucifer is the active and centrifugal energy of the universe, fire, life, self-independence, psychological rebellion.
95

S.A.W., Parsifal Unveiled, Ch. XVIII and The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac, Ch. II.
Where the opposites represent the dual nature of the creation, this is, the creation is the staging of the eternal fight
of the siblings.
97
We remember here the priest of Mentu that comes, deceased, before Osiris, dressing his attire of tiger skin, similar
to the pilgrim character of the tarot card number 56.
98
S.A.W., Parsifal Unveiled, Ch. 17.
99
This is, precipitate it to the bottom of the Patala.
100
That is to say that Lucifer is the vile worm that Dante mentions in The Divine Comedy. Will this have something
to do with the fact that M. Samael calls himself "vile worm of the mud of the earth"? Let's meditate...
96

47

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

The inferno in its revolutionary impetus is the vital expansion of the nebula in order to convert itself into new
planetary units.
Prometheus-Lucifer courageously plunders the divine fire in order to assist us in the path of spiritual insurrection.
Lucifer is the Guardian of the Door, who alone is entrusted with the keys of the Sanctuary, where no one enters
therein, saves the anointed ones who have the terrific Secret of Hermes.
The resplendent Lord of the seven glorious mansions, known with the sacred names of Lucifer-Prometheus, MahaAsura, etc., is certainly the splendid Minister of the Solar Logos.
The Seven Lords of Time (the seven Chronides) know very welt that Lucifer-Sabaoth is the one who bears the
sword and the scales of Cosmic Justice, because to him is undoubtedly committed the norm of the weight, measure
and number. He is Horus, Brahma, the Ahura Mazda etc., etc., etc. 101
[]...the granted Luciferic fire has turned itself into the worst damnation.
The animal element and the consciousness in its possession have changed the periodical instinct into animalism
and chronic sensuality.
This is what is menacing humanity like a heavy funerary mantle. This is how the responsibility of free will
surges; the titanic passions that represent humanity in its more somber aspect.
Hence, since we have already talked about the tenebrous aspects of the Luciferic fire in our past Christmas
Messages, now we only have to say that such a fire is neither good nor evil. All depends on how we use it.
Precisely, sin and redemption are established upon this, in unison.

The Philosophical Stone

102

The Philosophers Stone is the one that valorizes the sexual seed and gives it the power to germinate as a mystical
yeast that makes the whole metallic mass to ferment and to rise up, causing the King of Creation to appear in its
integral form. I am referring to the authentic man, not to the intellectual animal incorrectly called man. 103

Remember, Gnostic brethren, that the Philosophical Stone is a marvelous saline stone
by which lead can be transmuted into gold.
With the Philosophical Stone one has the elixir of longevity and the key of the perpetual motion.
The Philosophical Stone confers upon us the universal medicine.
Whoever possesses the Philosophical Stone can command Nature.
The warning has been mentioned. We now know the consequences of what could happen if it
is disobeyed. Now come the teaching on what the creation means, the descent of Lucifer, that is
to say, the "hurling" of the Philosophical Stone... That Philosophical Stone will become the son,
Horus, and he will have to travel "the most distant limits in heaven" in order to be invested with the
Sahu and to restore his Father again in the Throne. Horus, as all the sacrificed gods, is located
in Tiphereth.

Never must the Master cast his Philosophical Stone into the water. To dissolve the Stone on
Saturday means the loss of all the powers that deify, this you know!
This is the experience of M. Samael:
...in this same Cosmic Day, my Lemur or Lemuric body acquired the Elixir of Long Life, the Philosophical Stone
and the Universal Medicine, that is to say, he lived millions of years, he lived among the Lemuria and with the
same body I lived in the Lemuria, I lived in Atlantis, and I lived in Atlantis as an Atlantean citizen, and the
Atlantis ended and I continued living in the Aryan race, still with Lemurian body...
... I was living millions of years with that body and however seemingly young, I didn't reveal more than 25 or 30
years old... a body of about four meters height and the pituitary gland stood out...
... Its clear that I lost that body when I tossed the Philosophical Stone to the water, when I resolved, above all, to
"toss it in Saturday"...
... It is necessary to understand, because otherwise we would castrate the teaching... I tossed it "in Saturday" and
then I was under Itoklanos again. The Lemurian physical body obviously died; already under the Itoklanos
principle, I was transformed into a "son of a neighbor. 104

V Osiris: The Balance of the Scale

In the traditional Kabbalah, Binah is the region of the Destroyer of the Force; this is, from
where the stone is thrown. Binah appears under the aegis of Saturn, the regent of Saturday.
Although in accordance with M. Samael, the regency of this Sephirah is under the Empyrean,
the sky in which the Blessed ones enjoy the presence of God, and that is associated with
Neptune, the ninth sky, the Universe of Divine Monads. 105 Even so, it is the region from where
Xolotl, the shadow or double of the Mexican Christ, Quetzalcoatl, plunging from the Empyrean to our own
atomic infernos, is truly extraordinary, and marvelous. 106
Question: In Saturday? Why in Saturday, Master?
Answer: You have to understand that esoterically. Saturday is Saturn and it is the Kingdom of the Death.
Whoever 'dissolves their Stone in water' well; he gets lost and is left without the Stone.
This way, he gets off from his cross (the Christ), he is placed in his sepulcher, and later, with his death he kills
death - it is the last thing that he makes - and later he resuscitates in one. Dressed with the Bodies of Pure Gold
penetrates in the special body - earthly -; then, here we have the Philosophical Stone. Blissful be the one that has it,
because he is already, a Resurrected Master! 107

The Philosophical Stone is the Intimate Christ, Horus, the Divine Spirit always covered with a
wonderful metallic sheath.
My son Horus, gloriously dressed with the Sahu of pure Gold, is the Philosophical Stone.
The Egyptian sahu is the To-Soma-Heliakon, the body of gold of the solar Man.
The Egyptian sahu is formed by the bodies of gold of the solar Man, of the Son of the Sun.
This sahu was understood by the Egyptians as an immaterial body in which the khu inhabits in
company of the sekhem, when the terrible test of the weighing of the soul was overcome at the
Hall of the Judgment presided by Osiris. In the Hellenic world it was known later on as To
Soma Heliakon, the same Merkavah Hebrew: the solar bodies.
Master Samael says: It is necessary to manufacture the Solar Bodies and this is achieved only transmuting
the creative energy. In the Egyptian Theogony, those Solar Bodies are represented with the Egyptian sahu. We have
therefore to manufacture the "To Soma Heliakon", the Solar Man's bodies. 108

My son Horus traverses the farthest boundaries of heaven and is dressed with the sahu;
likewise he has obtained the crown of Nemmes.
Plate 26 of The Book of the Dead says: "The Double Lion god, custodian of the things that belong to the
house of the crown of Nemmes which is in the hidden place I, the guardian, take possession of the things that
belong to Horus and Osiris in the underworld."
More than a crown, Nemmes is a headdress whose better known representation appears in the
mask of gold of Tutankammon. It is made of a ribbon of cloth fixed on the forehead, as a tail
in the back part while two ribbons hang to both sides of the face. In the forehead it is
decorated with the uraeus Wadjet and with the vulture Nekhbet, representing the final
reunification of the two Kingdoms, the Upper and Lower Egypt.

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

GR VI D
TUM
THE ABYSS

AT THE

DOORS

OF THE

INFINITUDE

Opening Statement

I am the God Tum, solitaire of the vast spaces of heaven! I am the God Ra, rising at the dawn of
ancient times, similar to the God Nu. I am the Great Divinity that procreates itself! The
mysterious powers of my names create the celestial hierarchies.
Tum or Atum, Atem, Temu, is the primordial Egyptian god of the Sun, creator of the world. He
is the sun in the evening, when it goes down and hides. Later it was associated with Ra, main
deity of the Ogdoad, as god Atum-Ra. According with the myths he is the first substance
emerging as a hill, the Benben, from the primordial waters of Nu. Atum creates the deities Shu
and Tefnut from his saliva or from his semen (see footnote 28), due to his hermaphrodite
character, so his name means the complete thing, entirety, fullness, the Gnostic Pleroma. It was
specially worship at Heliopolis, where he was the head from the Ennead cult. He was
represented as the black bull Mnewer, taking the solar disk and the uraeus among his horns. In
the myth of the creation in Memphis, it is said that Atum was conceived in the heart of Ptah
and that it was created by his word. His name literally means "the one that completes or gives
perfection". Tum... the hidden Sun is the Unmanifested, the Fullness of the Pleroma, our Being's
Being.
Nu or Nun, on the other hand, is the personification of the primordial waters that constitute
what is before the creation. Nu is considered in all the Egyptian myths, but is only in the myth
of the Ogdoad of Heliopolis where he appears accompanied by his wife, Naunet. In the myth
of Ra, it is Nu who suggests putting an end to the humanity, when Ra requests him advice to
consider that he has not been treated with respect. Ra carries out the advice through Sekhmet.
Sekhmet, "the powerful" one, is the goddess of war and illness whose cult resided especially in
Memphis. Ptah is her husband and Nefertum, the sun at dawn, her son (see footnote 27). Nu is
represented as a hermaphrodite, bearded man, with blue skin representing the waters.
Everything comes from Tum, as Unmanifested Absolute, and his first differentiation is Ra, the
first manifestation of That. Starting from there, the hierarchies of the creation won't be but
unfolding of Tum. The realization of these hierarchies will result, as in the Gnostic myth, in the
conformation again of the Name or Great Word.

Prayer-Prostration

Hail oh God Tum! This Gnostic congregation humbly prostrates before you.
We shall search for Tum in the superlative depth of our own profound inner Being!
The Path to Tum

The path that leads to Tum is terribly dangerous: it is surrounded by frightful precipices and by
subtle and violent obstacles of dreadful fatality!

52

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

I know the science of the path; I accompany my son on the Via Crucis and, if he is loyal, I will
be able to guide him to the God Tum.
The Deceased enters in the later processes after the Second Mountain or Resurrection, in which
he has crossed through the Christic drama of the Via Crucis. Then he becomes a Resurrected
Master or Adeptus Exentus, beyond Cause-Effect, and the possibility opens up before him of
being driven before the God Tum.

The Gods do not oppose my progression, since I am yesterday and I know tomorrow. The fierce
combat into which the Gods hurl themselves, one against another, is according to my will.
On the path there exist tempting paradises and worlds that shine fascinatingly.
Mysterious description that he makes of himself: the Unknown, the Incommensurable, the
Unmanifested. Past and future summarize in him. And the fight of the hierarchies in their
differentiation is a product of his will.
From the primordial waters of Nut raise the Benben, the sacred hill, the Immortal Sacred Land.
Tum settles on her, and she becomes, says the myth, in the pyramid in Annu, Heliopolis, where
the god dwells. Thus, the Benben stone became the sacred stone of the temple of Heliopolis,
which lasts as the top of obelisks and pyramids. This stone is the lapis philosophorum of the
alchemists, whose hurling, symbolized by the induction of the divinities to the bottom, causes
the whirlpool known as Creation, and it grants to those gods the category of Cosmocreators.
The GR VI D recounts these mysteries.
M. Samael says in Pistis Sophia Unveiled:
The Initiates of the Darkness, as well as the Initiates of the Light fall to the Left and to the Right. The Path of the
Midst, the Eightfold Path of the Bodhisattvas with compassionate heart, leads us to the port of liberation.
Unfortunately, rare are those who are capable of marching on the Path of the Midst, towards the Final Liberation.
Those who do not fall on the tenebrous Path of the Left, fall on the Path of the Right.
The tenebrous ones descend through the Path of the Left within the abode of Pluto. The Saints ascend through the
Path of the Right, towards the marvelous Kingdom of the Light. The tenebrous ones and the saints rotate in the
Wheel of Samsara 109
This loss of balance that manifests as right and left implies a differentiation of that which is everything
and nothing at the same time. That imbalance produces an immediate result: cause-effect. As if they
were a couple of needles, this law knits the destiny from now on. The imbalance make those
who are in it in iniquitous, an unjust, since the proportion, the fair measure is the reflexion of
the justness and equity.
M. Samael continues: Neither men with skin of goats, nor men with skin of sheep achieve the Final
Liberation. The authentic Final Liberation is only for the rebels, for those who march on the Path of the Midst.
Difficult is the Eightfold Path of the Bodhisattvas with compassionate heart. The limit of good is evil. The limit of
evil is good. The Eightfold Path of the Bodhisattvas with compassionate heart has nothing to do with good or
evil
Thus, as M. Samael will say, were never closer to heaven and to hell that when we are next to
the Fifth of the Seven. In the same way only the one who rests on the needle of the scales,
keeps equal distance with both plates, because He is The Perfect Balance.
109

S.A.W., Pistis Sophia Unveiled, Ch. 67.

53

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

And we finish the quote:

The initiates must learn how to live serenely and gently within the terrors of the Abyss and the night. There is the
need to learn how to handle the Flaming Sword. In the abode of Pluto, the Lord of Time teaches us how to handle
the Sword.
The sword that is the symbol of the needle (faithful) of the scales, of the perfect balance (See
footnote 34), it is also represented by the arrow path in the Kabbalah, that is the Middle Pillar:
Kether, Tiphereth and Jesod-Malkuth. Master Samael calls this the Path of the Razor's Edge.

The Abode of Pluto

And the Kingdome of Proserpine

The Gods seduced by power, wont to throw themselves to the bottom of the horrible abode of
Pluto, this you know!
In the kingdom of Proserpine, there exist frightful sufferings! Only through the door of the
second death can the souls of the fallen Gods escape from the Avernus!
New cycles of transmigrations are assigned to the souls that leave the abode of Pluto. I will rise
again through the spinal medullar canal of the repentant ones!
The reference to the Greek and Roman myth invites us to review it briefly.
Pluto is the divinity of the underworld, son of Kronos, Saturn, and of Rea or Cibeles. He is also
known as Hades, in Greek mythology. His father Kronos is the responsible for the castration of
Uranus, Rea's father. From this act Aphrodite is born, arising from the foam of the sea where
the genital of Uranus had fallen.
Here we have to understand that this Ur-Anas, as Pythagorean Monad or Gnostic FatherMother, gives his force through his manifestation, and this is represented by his seminal
emission. The latent, non manifested force should be send to the manifestation, something that
implies a traumatic event represented by an act such as the dismembering or castration. It has
to be this way since, once setting in movement, that latent energy becomes manifested and later
on it assumes the form that will finally defines and delimits it.
Therefore, the executioner of this act is Saturn whose associated day is Saturday. SaturnKronos, associated to the hurling of the stone on Saturday, implies that the limitless falls in the
limitation of the form, as a product of the manifested universe. Then Uranus and Gaia generate
their descendants, the 12 Titans that will generate the zodiacal destiny.
When these Titans fall, says the myth, captured by Zeus under the Tartarus, Pluto and his
siblings Zeus and Poseidon share the universe. Pluto becomes the ruler of the underground,
where he will take Proserpine, the Greek Persephone, the Divine Goddess Mother Death, to
whom Pluto will maintain prisoner in the regions of the abyss. However Proserpine will
represent the possibility for the germination of the seed in the core of the earth, and during the
spring and summer time, she will return to her mother Ceres to flourish and to give her fruits.
For this reason her name, Proserpere, means "the one that emerges". We could clearly say that
Proserpine is a mixture of light and darkness.

54

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

The Intimate Christ has performed his command in the heart of the Adepts who descend into the tenebrous
kingdom of Pluto, in order to work in the Great Work.
When the Adepts descend into the Tartarus, they remove themselves from the Intimate Christ, and they suffer
inexpressively.
Pistis Sophia cries for the Light when she found herself in the Averno. The Light always fulfils its command in
the Chaos. 110
Pluto, as prince of darkness, is the symbol of the depths of our interior darkness that reach the
spiritual night of the soul, this is, the archaic layers of the psyche. We are before him when we
are incited to confront our dragon, inviting us to develop the consciousness of the invisible, to
insure the possession of our buried treasures, to liberate the access toward the hidden wealth,
to discover their more secret arcanes, for his spiritual fulfillment. The access to the Being's deep
reconditeness, the superlative depth our own deep interior Being, gives the power and will of the hidden
God. If this deep penetration is rejected, then the interior fermentations destroy the balance and
by means of catastrophes, Pluto opens the abyss to throw us and to gobble us in it: a stay in
hell. 111
In the Abyss, Truth disguises itself with darkness.
Demonius est Deus Inversus.
The Demon is God, but inverted.
The Inferno is the womb of Heaven.
The Philosophical Stone, the Stone of Truth, must be searched for within the Inferno.
Lucifer is the best friend that we have.
Now, we comprehend why the Truth is the inferior power that emerges from Pistis Sophia in the Chaos.
Thus, the Truth emerges from the Averno, and departs from the monster of the Earth.
Every treasure is found inserted within the womb of the Earth. The Golden Fleece is not an exemption. 112

Hail! Hail! Hail to the Gods that rise from the mud of the earth!
They shall be able to become Cosmocreators after the passage through the abode of Pluto.
In Pistis Sophia Unveiled Master Samael says: In the Old Testament, the name of Jehovah is applied -in
his original name of Yod-Heve, to the Host of the Cosmocreators or Divine Androgynes who create this Universe.
And he adds in chapter 10: The Thirty Aeons that emanated as couples from within the bosom of Aelohim
are something different. They are the Cosmocreators or Creator Elohim. 113
In the lecture The Three Gunes he says: So that the Glory, inside the breast of the Incognizable and Pure
Seity, doesn't really have any limits, never ever. Who could put limits to the Being? If the Being is the same God,
who could limit God?
But when one wants to be something different to the Being, when one wants to exist, even if is as a Cosmocreator,
obviously one falls, in fact, in the world of the Three Laws.
Interesting it is, then, to desire (the "Monads") to be something or somebody. The first thing that is unbalanced,
naturally, are the three Gunes. If the Gunes was not unbalanced, the cause-causorum, the CAUSAL LOGOS of the
first instant, the same Law of Karma, they would not enter in activity. But there is imbalance of the Gunes, and at
the moment that such an imbalance begins, Karma enters in activity and the manifested Universe becomes. 114

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

I prefer to liberate myself from the karma of the worlds, to submerge myself in the Infinity that
sustains all!
The Cosmic Common Eternal Father has all the powers and the absolute happiness!
The tempting Gods are dangerous; you could stray from the secret path if you were to be
enslaved by the Nemesis of the stars!
The Nemesis is equal to the Egyptian Ma'at, the Hindu Karma. Its is interesting to notice that in
the Greek myth this Nemesis is the fair and impartial goddess that only reserves her wrath for
those whose intelligence is misled by pride, selfishness and impiety.

Do not submit my son Horus to more abuses! He spares no effort in the name of Tum! However,
I suffer greatly watching the suffering of He who should not suffer, this you know!
Did you ever hear about Brahma? He is in Himself Father-Mother-Son (Osiris, Isis Horus)... In each new cosmic
dawning, the Universe resurrects, like the Phoenix Bird from within its own ashes In the dawning of each
Mahamanvantara, the Monad unfolds again into the Duad and into the Triad...
At the daybreak of the new Cosmic Day, after the Profound Night, the Son, the Triad, Horus (the Divine Spirit
within each one of us), emanates the Essence, His mystic Principles, from Himself into the Wheel of Samsara, with
the purpose of acquiring a Diamond Soul...
Oh! How great the joy of Horus is when acquiring a Diamond Soul! Then, He is absorbed within His Divine
Mother, and She is also fused with the Father, who together form a unique Diamond Flame, a God of resplendent,
interior beauty... 115
The diamond, the angular stone in the constructive symbolism, the vault key, the top, for its
indivisibility and indestructibility characteristics, is the unique principle of the Philosophical
Stone.

The Cosmocreators shine in the sacred space; they are needed for the creation of the worlds.
Nevertheless, we must not fall into temptation. Let us march along the difficult path unto the
bosom of the Omnimerciful. How joyful will we be the day when we are able to firmly establish
ourselves in the Sacred Abstract Absolute Space!
I know the mysterious names of the Great Divinity who is in Heaven; I am the Great Phoenix of
Heliopolis, I am the guardian of the Book of Destiny, in which is written all that has been and
all that will be.
The Phoenix, the mythological Egyptian bird that it's said to lived during 500 years. Of golden
and red plumage, at the end of his cycle of life he incinerates himself in his nest made of
cinnamon sticks, until he is reduced to ashes from where he will reborn again. It is said that the
new Phoenix embalms the ashes of the old one in an egg made of myrrh, which he deposits in
the city of Heliopolis in Egypt. He is a symbol of resurrection and immortality.
He was originally identified in Egypt with the stork, symbol of rebirth since she carries those
who will be born, and with the heron, called Benu in the Book of the Dead and other text. He
was considered sacred and was worshipped in Heliopolis, associate to the sun and to Ra.

115

S.A.W., My Return to Tibet, Cap. 43.

56

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

The Phoenix Bird of Heliopolis, tired of living for many thousands or millions of years, resolves
to incinerate itself in its nest made with sandalwood, incense and myrrh.
Frightful horrors for the shadow of the Phoenix Bird: centuries of great pain, cycles of
transmigrations await the wretched that lose the Phoenix Bird!
... for the shadow of the Phoenix Bird; the precipitate creation that is manifested in its own reflection.

Beyond the seventh danger you could fall under a curse, do not forget this! I am the guardian
of the Great Mysteries of Life and Death!
Here is the experience of the M. Samael:
What I wish to say is a great truth. When I elaborated the philosopher's stone for the first time, on the Moon, the
stone was powerful. When I elaborated it the second time, it was much stronger. Now that I am elaborating it for
the third time, it will be even stronger. It is due to the acquired experience from which there is an intelligent
principle that we must understand. One man can fight a lot for his transformation to reach the union with God;
he progresses until there, but after the man reaches the union with God, when God manifests himself in that man,
we can say that from there on there is no progress. If this man wishes to progress, he must retrograde, which
means to throw the stone into the water. What happens to the stone? When the stone re-emerges into life, it
emerges much more powerful, more penetrative; it is something extraordinary...
There are men that perform the work seven times. Beyond seven times, it is very dangerous; one can fall into
damnation. I have performed it three times, but frankly, I will not make it a fourth; I do not want to expose
myself to lose a lot, however, the three times that I have performed it, the matter has come unto me as it must be,
extremely painful!
For example, in the Central Plateau of Asia, when I "threw the Stone to the water" for third time, from there, how
much I fought - through the centuries - to get up again. Those Karmas so awful, what bitterness so terrible! Only
now, after having suffered a lot, so much, it is that the Philosophical Stone is again to reborn - in the 78 I will
have it again, but at what price: I carried the whole History of the Aryan Race, to get it up again -. So that is very
painful, it is a very dangerous return. 116

Often I have pardoned the sinner! At times he has been judged by the judges of Celestial Justice,
nevertheless I have forgiven him. There have been moments when I have left the tribunals so as
not to be trampled by the Lords of the Law of Katancy. The sinful son makes me suffer greatly!
Meditation

To die is the best but this would not be possible without the serpent of the Isiac Mysteries; only
she, the sacred cobra, the terrifying divine viper can annihilate the red demons of Seth!

The Anklad
The gods arise among the abyss of the creation when they reach the supreme grade of
Objective Reason. M. Samael explains it this way:
Whoever has developed the Interior Mind, he knows the Real, the Truth, he knows what is beyond the body, of
the affections and of the mind; he knows the Mysteries of Life and Death, not because others have told them to
him or not, but from direct mystic experience. Whoever has developed the Objective Reason, he is an Illuminated
one; but there are six grades of development of the Objective Reason; these six grades are known by the Tridents
that exist in the Horns..
To what "horns" am I referring? To the Horns of Silver of the Hierophants, to the Horns of Lucifer. This Lucifer is
nothing but the reflection of the Logos in us, the shade of the Lord, located inside ourselves, in our interior, for our
well. Could we maybe ascend until the Father's Golgotha, for another road different than the body of Lucifer, the
backs of Lucifer? Impossible! Could somebody maybe work in the Forge of the Cyclops without the impulse of
Lucifer? Impossible! Lucifer gives the impulse; if we know how to nail the Lance in their side, we conquer him.
Conquered the Dragon, we go up using their back like a stairway. "Temptation is Fire; the victory over temptation
is Light". If we are able to conquer Lucifer, we ascend degree by degree through his back; each victory over Lucifer
implies, in fact, a step in the ascent, and this way, step by step, we arrive to the Being's summit, we ascend through
the Being's Mountain.
Seven or six grades of development of the Objective Reason put the Horns of Lucifer. Yes, the base is there. While
one has one trident in those Horns, one has already ascended one grade; and whoever has two tridents, it indicates
a second grade in the development of his Objective Reason; and whoever has three, he has perfected his mind until
the third grade of the Objective Reason. But whoever has the six grades, the six tridents in his Horns, he will have
reached the absolute perfection, and the Being's Objective Reason, he will have arrived to the Sacred Anklad, and
he will be able to remain in it, he will be perfect, and all the choirs of the Self-worships of this Universe, the four
big choirs or groups, will obey him, they will worship him.
To have the six grades of the Objective Reason, is to have arrived to the absolute illumination, to the absolute
objective knowledge - without lagoons -, of the Mysteries of Life and Death, of the Mysteries of the Logos, of the

58

VI Tum: The Abyss at the Doors of the Infinitude

Mysteries of the Abyss and of Heaven; it is to have opened up, completely, his mind to the Real; for that reason
whoever arrives to the sixth grade, he can rest in the Sacred "Anklad". Whoever arrives to the sixth grade, he is
only three grades far from the Infinitude that sustains all, and this something we have to understand. I want then,
our brethren to meditate deeply in all this. 117

Closing Statement

Beloved Gnostic brethren: all the Gods are sons of Nut, the Divine Mother Kundalini.
Do not forget, brethren, that in the great sanctuary of the city of Heliopolis,
the words are weighed.
The Gods arise from the abyss and are lost in the bosom of the Cosmic Common Eternal Father.
The spirits with the head of a sparrow hawk will attain the sacred Anklad.

VII The Crowning of Horus

GR VII D
THE CROWNING

OF

HORUS

Opening Statement
Act of Prostration

Hail, oh Masters of the Offerings! Behold, I come in peace towards you to taste the food that the
Great Divinity grants me every day.
Meditation

Self guided meditation. In silence.

As it has been previously mentioned, the souls that possess reward and achieve justification
before the Osiris tribunal and the feather of Maat; they will be directed to the celestial
underworld called Aaru, the Region of the Offerings. 118
The Masters of the Offerings are those who have reaped wheat whose shaft measures seven
elbows, and therefore, they have been able to go beyond the Law of the Retribution to inhabit
the Region of the Blessed ones.
Here comes an entire reflection on the sacred food that is represented in the Hebrew myth by
the manna in the desert, the food that preserves those that undergo the exodus, and its
associate symbols, the goblet or chalice, the tables of the law, Aaron's staff, and the Ark of the
Alliance, preserved by the cherubs that touch their wings. 119

Horus and Seth

The Mythic Battle

Seth has captured Horus while he was watching over the construction of the ramparts of the
fields of Peace, but I have freed Horus from the power of Seth and opened the path to the two
eyes of heaven.
We take some time to highlight the wonderful recount from the Papyrus of Ani about these
passages 120 , which allow us to have a clearer perspective of this culminating moment of the
myth.

118

Aaru, second division of the Amenti, field of the offerings, sowed of wheat where the deceaseds reap for the Lord
of the Eternity. Those that reach the wheat shafts with seven elbows will enter to the state of the blessedness, being
the wheat for the Egyptian a symbol of the Law of Retribution.
119
The cherubs of the ark: Metatron, on the right, known as Enoch, angel of the sephirah of Kether, and their twin
Sandalphon, the left cherub, the prophet Elias, angel of the sephirah of Malkuth. This gives us the idea that the Ark of
the Alliance and its associate symbols contain the whole process of the divine evolution.
120
The Papyrus of Ani, is a manuscript from the 19th dynasty recounting the events of the Book of the Dead in the
experience of the Theban scribe Ani. Acquired in 1888 by the scholar E. Wallis Budge it belongs to the collection of
the British Museum. Like this one, the Book of the Dead is the result of a summary of stories from other
manuscripts, like the Papyrus of Nebseni and the Papyrus of Nu.

60

VII The Crowning of Horus

Saith Osiris Ani, triumphant: "Set hath carried away Horus to see what is being built in the Field of Peace, and
he spreadeth the air over the divine soul within the egg in its day. He hath delivered the innermost part of the body
of Horus from the holy ones of Akert
Ma Akeru is understood, according to the papyrus of Nebseni (see footnote 40 and its reference
in the text). This sentence is mentioned later in the Gnostic ritual as That which had been hidden in
the interior of Horus I have liberated from the God Aker.
Behold I have sailed in the mighty boat on the Lake of Peace. I, even I, have crowned him in the House of Shu. His
starry abode reneweth its youth, reneweth its youth. I have sailed on its Lake that I may come unto its cities, and I
have drawn nigh It unto the city Hetep. For behold, I repose at the seasons [of Horus]. I have passed through the
region of the company of the gods who are aged and venerable. I have pacified the two holy Fighters who keep
ward upon life. I have done that which is right and fair, and I have brought an offering and have pacified the two
holy Fighters. I have cut off the hairy scalp of their adversaries, and I have made aft end of the woes which befel
[their] children; I have done away all the evil which came against their souls; I have gotten dominion over it, I
have knowledge thereof. I have sailed forth on the waters [of the lake] that I may come unto the cities thereof. I
have power over my mouth, being furnished [with] charms; let not. [the fiends] get the mastery over me, let them
not have dominion over me. May I be equipped in thy Fields of Peace. What thou wishest that shalt thou do,
[saith the god]." 121
Among the many forms of Horus there is one known as Horus the Great, Lord of the Light
and Heaven, also call "He who governs with the two eyes". It is the combative aspect and one of the
first aspects of the divinity that is present in the Texts of the Pyramids. He is the child or
husband of Hathor, or of Geb and Nut (according to the texts) and brother of Osiris, Isis, Seth
and Nephtys. His eyes are the Sun (the right) and the Moon (the left one). The identification of
Horus with the King Osiris, his Father, constitutes the incarnation of his two manifestations as
Horus the Old one and the Youth.
Master Samael says:
Indeed, Horus is the vehicle of Yod-Heve, the indispensable instrument for Self-Realization.
Osiris and Isis fail when Horus is defeated in the battles fought during his pilgrimage throughout the wheel of
Samsara (valley of tears).
Yet, when Horus becomes victorious in the battles against the Red Devils, then the Immortal Triad, endowed with
Diamond Soul, is forever submerged within the ineffable joy of the Abstract Absolute Space. 122

Behold Seth! He casts his pernicious emanations to the wind so that they can fall once again on
his soul and his eye in the city of Mert.
With the only intention of clarifying the meaning of the sentence, let us see the way it appears
described in the manuscripts: "Here you have Seth! His pernicious emanations I have thrown them to the
wind so that they fall again over his soul and over his eye in the city of Mert", where the city of Mert is
probably a reference to Mert-sekert, an evocation of Isis and Hathor as divinities related with
the underworld. She is known as the worshiper of the silence, and because of her headdress
she is an evocation of goddess Wadjet.

That which had been hidden in the interior of Horus I have liberated from the God Aker.

VII The Crowning of Horus

I delivered the interior of the body of Horus from the hands of the Akeru Gods, as it is mentioned in the
Papyrus of Ani.
This god Aker is associated to the horizon and is also recognized as the God of Double Lion,
guardian of those moments where the horizon represents the division from one state to the
other, in this case, dawn and sunset. In his hieroglyphic appears, between two lions, the akhet,
the horizon. The symbol of the solar disk is located between the two pillars that support
heaven, the western one is called Manu, while that of the east is called Bakhu.
Being the horizon the place where the night becomes day, Aker became the guardian of the
entrance and exit of the underworld, opening them so that the sun passed in its night trip. It is
also said that as guardian, the deceaseds should request him permission so that he opens doors
of the underworld.
Apparently this God Aker is kind of a Roman Janus-Saturn (January), since he is the governor
of the winter period of Capricorn. Divinity of change and transition, representative of the
middle, the limit, the threshold. He is who has provided all that remained latent or hides inside
Horus. When Aker is related to the couple Shu-Tefnut -as gods of the lion twin-, in someway
he is related with the original couple. This might explain that the interior of the body of Horus has
been delivered from the hands of Aker.
The following reflections of the ritual are mentioned in plate 34 of the Papyrus of Ani,
transcribed before.

Entering the dwelling of Shu, I proceed unto the crowning of Horus; then the stars shine with
increased vigor Then I cross the lake and reach the city of Peace. Thanks to me, there reigns
a profound peace in the rhythm of its seasons, in its possessions and among its first-born Gods.
I calm the combative ardour of Horus and Seth, thanks to the guardian spirits of life. I have
created Good, I bring Peace. I oblige Horus and Seth to respect their Judges. I expel the clouds
towards those who attack me.
I have dominion over those who violate the weak and I destroy the demons that assault the
blessed spirits.
In truth, I know these regions of Peace. I have navigated the lake, I have penetrated the cities;
powerful are the enchantments of my mouth. Truly, I am worthy of becoming a sanctified spirit
and my weapons will be able to resist the attacks of the demons.
The Fields of Peace

Oh Gods, may it be possible for me to dwell in the Fields of Peace that you love so much! There,
may I come to be, after acquiring dominion over my breathing, a blessed spirit; and there, let
me eat, drink, plough, reap wheat, and exercise my vigor and my magical word!

VII The Crowning of Horus

I am rewarded [with] these thy Fields, O god Hetep. What thou wishest that do thou, O lord of the winds. I shall
be a spirit therein. I shall eat therein. I shall drink therein. I shall plough therein. I shall reap the grain therein. I
shall be strong therein. I shall make love therein. My words shall be strong therein. I shall not be in subjection
therein. I shall be a man of might therein. Thou hast made strong the mouth and throat. Hetep Qettbu is its
name. [It is] established upon the pillars of Shu, and is linked with the pleasant things of Ra. He is the divider of
years, the hidden of mouth; silent is his mouth, hidden is what he uttereth, he fulfilleth eternity, he taketh
possession of everlastingness of existence as Hetep, Neb-Hetep..
Horus maketh himself strong like unto a hawk which is one thousand cubits in length, and two thousand cubits
in life. He that equipments with him, he journeyeth on, he cometh to the place where his heart would be, among
the Lakes which are in its towns. He begetteth in the birth-chamber of the god of the town, he is satisfied with the
food of the god of the town; he doeth what ought to be done there, in the Field of Smas-er-Khet..... everything of the
birth-chamber of the god of the town. Now [when he] setteth in the [land of] life like crystal he performeth
everything therein, [which things are] like unto the things done in the Lake Neserser, wherein there is none that
rejoiceth, and wherein are evil things of all kinds.
The god Hetep, refers to the term hetep, hetepet, translates as "peace", "stillness", and is associated
to several divinities. He is also related to the "blessing for the King" that was offered to the
deceased as food for his subsistence in the hereafter.

Behold! You have reinvigorated the God of Peace and you have elevated him over the luminous
columns of Shu, united by the beautiful rays of the Sun, that arranger of the years. On this my
lips remains sealed, and shall be silent. The words that I could let you hear would be pregnant
with mystery... Truly, I give birth to eternity and I take possession of the duration without limits,
since I am the Lord of Immutable Stability and my soul rests in the bosom of Peace.
The mention of Shu is interesting since it implies that, when settling down on his pillars, the
deceased dwells beyond all manifestation, being that Shu represents the breath, whose soul
resides in the fire that originates all the creation (see footnote 29).

Begotten in the temple of the God of the profound inner city within each of us, Horus, my son,
receives the offerings of this God.
My son Horus, resurrected, is the Phoenix Bird of the ancient Mysteries. I say unto my devotees
of pure and noble heart that the Phoenix Bird resurrects from its own ashes.
Horus resurrected appears under the form of the Phoenix Bird. The resurrected Christ is the
same Philosophical Stone. Thus, M. Samael will say that On the great religious buildings of the
Middle Age, where a semi-circular or elliptic apse was added to the choir loft, we observe the shape of the hieratical
Egyptian symbol of the Ansata Cross, it reads Ankh and points to the occult universal life in everything.
On the other hand, the hermetic likeness of the Ankh symbol is the representation of Venus or Cipris-Lucifer, that
is, the copper, bronze or brass. We will emphasize that killing the Dragon, or Venus-Lucifer-Xolotl, is the same as
becoming his children, this is, we receive the Morning Star.
[] Xolotl, the shadow or double of the Mexican Christ Quetzalcoatl, plunging from the Empyrean to our own
atomic infernos, is truly extraordinary and marvelous.
Xolotl means dog as well as twin. We may also remember in this chapter that Father Sahagun states that the dog
is the symbol of the fire of celestial origin.
The sexual fire, the dog, the erotic instinct, the Nahua Lucifer, is that extraordinary and marvelous agent that can
transform us radically.
[] Xolotl-Lucifer, as the archetype of the penitent and with the belt of chastity, having become an anchorite, he
sheds light in darkness and explains the whole Christic esotericism.
[] Undoubtedly, the dog and the tiger are esoterically linked in the same task.

63

VII The Crowning of Horus

[] It is clearly written in the Book of Life: Whoever wants to go up he shall first go down. An exaltation is
preceded by a humiliation. 124
Very interesting references when we take into account that indeed, the deceased priest from
Thebes known as Ank-af-na-Khonsu, "he who lives in Khonsu", this is, he who has incarnated
Horus, appears in his funeral stele adorned with the tiger skin, symbol of the realization of the
pilgrimage that goes from the instinct of the dog (associate to the Itoklanotz principle) to the
development of the objective reason. 125

All ascend is preceded by a descend; all exaltation is preceded by a humiliation!

This means that all ascension, all exaltation and all manifestation in the highest go in
proportion with the magnitude of the descent. Thus, there is a very intelligent principle that you should
understand: a man can fight a lot and to transform, until arriving to the union with God - until there he
progresses - but after he arrives to the union with God, a man, that God is manifested through that man, we
would say that from there on, there is no longer any progress, since it already arrived to God, he is already
manifested in him. If that man wants to progress, from there on he has, then, we said, to be retrograded, that is to
say, to "toss the Stone to the water", to be without the Stone. But when he gives it life again - to the stone -, then it
is more penetrating that Stone, more powerful, something extraordinary... 126

Behold I arrive purified! Look, oh God Asahi, look! Truly I find myself, at this moment, among
the servants of Hathor!
Hathor literally means the house of Horus and it was the personification of the Milky Way that
was not but the milk of the sacred cow. Her name refers to her position as celestial cow that
surrounds the sky and consequently the god of the sky, Horus, in his original form. Originally
she is seen as the daughter of Ra, the Creator, and as mother of Horus. But since Horus is the
son of Ra, Hathor is also identified as wife of Ra, to whom Ra has created in a virginal way,
receiving the title of Lady of Heaven. Her more common representation is as a woman with a
headdress of horns holding the solar disk that represents Ra. Hathor is also identified with the
hippopotamus, animal to which the Egyptians considered as maternal creature and also as a
form of aquatic cow. She also appears represented as partner of Ra, the sun, in his boat,
crossing through the sky. And as divine mother she is represented with the uraeus, the sacred
cobra, symbol of the royal power.
In the history of the Humanity's Destruction, recorded in one of the urns of the tomb of
Tutankammon, Hathor, transformed into the Eye of Ra, "becomes" Sekhmet. Hathor, by request
of her father Ra, becomes the goddess lioness to punish the humanity for the transgression
against her father, but before she completely eliminates it, Ra finds the way to intoxicate her
and in that way he saves the humanity. Then as Sekhmet, she is associated to war and
vengeance and her name mean "the Powerful" and she is represented as a woman with lioness
head. Memphis was her main cult center. There she was worshipped as part of the divine
trinity with her husband Ptah and her son Nefertem.
This evocation as the destroyer needs to be understood through her roll, indeed, as destroyer
of the force of Ra. In the traditional Kabbalah is said that the latent and vibrant power of
Kether, manifesting himself in his first differentiation that is the Son, the Second Logos,
Chokmah, reaches the state of the form by means of Binah. This Sephirah gives form to the

force; she allows him the manifestation, although that means for him the limitation for the
force.
This idea is represented it in the Christian symbolism through the virgin mother's image with
her child in arms. She gives him life, and in that way she sends him to death. Death in cross
that will mean then to kill the death.

The divine eye, according to your order, cuts off the heads, stabs the necks, tears out and
destroys the hearts and disintegrates the condemned in the Lake of Double Fire!
Identified as wife of Ra, it is said that Hathor springs from Ra's tears; therefore she is also
identified as the Eye of Ra. As such, says the myth, humanity comes from the creator's tears,
contrary to the primordial deities that come from his saliva and from his semen. It is the eye
that the Creator places on his forehead, in the place that occupied the uraeus, from where the
eye continues terrifying his enemies, rejecting them to continue govern the whole earth,
because, it is said, it grew up roots. It is the Eye that "cuts off the heads, stabs the necks, tears out and
destroys the hearts and disintegrates the condemned in the Lake of Double Fire..., we could say that this eye
dissolves and coagulates.

Closing Statement

Oh God of Peace! May it be granted unto me to arrive and depart to pass and pass again, unite
with those who are within the temple of the city, to rest in the center of my radiation of life and
fulfill the works which are customarily fulfilled in the Lake of Double Fire, there where no one
knows happiness for it is a place of suffering.

Spiritual Guidance

VOCATUS ATQUE NON VOCATUS DEUS ADERIT

SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE
Meditation and Prayer to complement the
Study of the Gnostic Rituals

Each ritual is a lecture for the consciousness; now our reader will explain to himself the reason for
the allegorical, symbolic and mystical language of this Gnostic Liturgy.
The ritualistic system, at heart, is didactic and dialectic; it is about a transcendental dialectic that is
always based in the superior logic...
Then, the rituals condensed [] possess logical transcendental foundations that unquestionably
come to give way to the psychological-ritualistic foundations.
Samael Aun Weor

General Guidelines
First of all it will be important to consider that we don't expect these texts to be explanatory
neither revelatory. They only seek to add more elements for the reflection. Therefore, although
many concepts could be expanded much more, we prefer to leave them implicit so that they
are seed that germinates in the intimate meditation of each one. With this purpose are the
practices directed to deepen what it is possible to know through the investigation. Both,
investigation and reflection, they should go hand to hand. The absence of one would go in
detriment of the other and that would be unfortunate.
We suggest the study of the rituals reading and meditating them. In the same way that a ritual
is officiated, following the same order, now with the congregation seated and relaxed, it's
possible to meditate it. This practice is particularly useful and benefit for those Gnostic
congregations that don't have the possibility, due the absence or lack of some members, of
celebrating the liturgy. In fact, circumstances like these, among others, are those that have
motivated us to prepare this retreat.
However, we also consider possible to meditate in the rituals with specific exercises, directed to
deepen in the particular teachings of the ceremony. For this we suggest the reading and practice
of selected dialogues and prayers, accompanied by mantras and meditation. The following is a
selection that we consider appropriate with the study of the retreat.

Light the fire and entrance.

Prayer.
Chain of Love with the mantra SAL-TUL-UL.
