[CAST] Herramientas para el anlisis y la organizacin. Grupo de lectura guiado, bilingue y

bimestral. Bimensual, desde el 23 de septiembre al 2 Diciembre 2014, de 18-21h en la Electrodomstica.
El objetivo de este grupo de lectura guiado es desarrollar un
vocabulario comn en torno a la reproduccin social, con el fin de
visualizarla como un terreno tanto de luchas como de construccin
de mundos posibles. Cada vez se vuelve ms claro en este contexto
de crisis, desempleo y precariedad que no nos es posible contar
con las necesidades bsicas para vivir ni llegar a ser lo que
deseamos. Queremos distanciarnos de las polticas que exaltan la
nocin de deseo; tambin de los discursos que enfocan el concepto
de necesidad de una manera naturalista o determinista. Buscamos
ms bien hablar sobre el problema de la reproduccin social:
cmo reproducimos nuestros cuerpos, nuestros procesos subjetivos
y nuestros modos de subjetivacin. No se trata de formular una
utopa, sino ms bien de plantear un problema que habitualmente
conlleva soluciones radicalmente distintas, en donde confluyen
polticas y las formas de vida: las respuestas que buscan la seguridad
en los comportamientos microfascistas, en el devenir religioso o en
la vuelta a la familia nuclear; pero tambin, en el otro extremo,
respuestas que se originan en procesos colectivos en torno a la reproduccin de los bienes comunes. Lo que
intentamos es, en definitiva, desarrollar conjuntamente un pensamiento analtico relativo a la reproduccin
social, con el fin de explorar y pensar herramientas de lucha.

1. Perspectivas sobre el problema de la reproduccin y la acumulacin primitiva

23 Septiembre Durante las primera sesiones abordaremos observando con gafas marxistas la cuestin de
cmo se nos ha impuesto histricamente la separacin entre nuestras necesidades y nuestros deseos, cmo esta
dinmica es constantemente reproducida, y cmo personas se han enfrentado a ese problema de muchas maneras,

mas all del trabajo asalariado. Nos interesara discutir, a propsito de dicha cuestin, la relacin de la
materialidad histrica de las luchas por la autonoma tanto deseante como reproductiva: una lucha que
comienza por nuestros cuerpos, relaciones y lugares.

2. El estado de bienestar y otros mejoramientos
7 Octubre En esta sesin discutiremos el estado de bienestar como terreno de luchas alrededor de la
reproduccin, entendiendo de que el salario nunca fue suficiente para asegurar la reproduccin de las personas y
familias. El estado nacional y social de Bismarck ha dado la primera matiz del estado de bienestar: diseado
para mejorar el riesgo, la inseguridad y la irregularidad de la reproduccin de trabajadores a travs del control
biopoltico. Pero el estado de bienestar tambin es un producto de exigencias populares de tener mas autonomia.

3. Perspectivas feministas sobre el trabajo reproductivo y cuidados
21 Octubre A travs de varias lecturas provenientes del feminismo marxista asi como tambin de la economa
feminista nos preguntaremos: en qu medida nuestra reproduccin es cmplice del capitalismo y de las
relaciones de poder encarnadas en dinmicas de gnero?, qu es el trabajo reproductivo?, cmo y qu
reproducimos cuando nos reproducimos?. (Re)pensaremos relaciones entre la autonoma y la heteronoma,
tirando de genealogas feministas y de estrategias de subversin del trabajo reproductivo. Veremos como se puede
re-pensar no solamente el trabajo pero tambin la economia desde perspectivas feministas.

4 Noviembre Asumiendo las teoras poscoloniales, el pensamiento decolonial y los saberes en torno a la
migracin, queremos centrarnos en el asunto de la provincializacin de Europa (segn el concepto de Dipesh
Chakrabarty: provincializing Europe). Podramos pensar Europa en relacin con un exterior y un interior con
otros, en relacin con las neo/ex colonias y los devenires migrantes entre nosotras. Una Europa atravesada por
las resistencias contra los ajustes estructurales de la Troika y otras experiencias de organizacin que tienen lugar
en el contexto de pauperizacin social y desempleo juvenil; as como tambin por las luchas migrantes que se
enfrentan a la intensificacin del racismo y al desmantelamiento de los servicios publicos.

5. La ecologa poltica de la reproduccin social
18 Noviembre Investigaremos las formas en que nuestra reproduccin social se entrecruza con trastornos tanto
ecolgicos como sociales en lugares donde la materia prima que nos sostiene se obtiene a travs del extractivismo
y las formas de expropiacin capitalista. Partiendo de ah trataremos el problema del metabolismo, tanto el
metabolismo de la naturaleza como el que atae a nuestra reproduccin.

6. Discusin final: formas de lucha relacionadas con la reproduccin social
2 Diciembre Esta ltima sesin consisitir de un debate abierto sobre diversas experiencias, tcticas, estrategias
y luchas relacionadas con a la reproduccin social en contextos de crisis. Juntas intentaremos actualizar las
herramientas desarrolladas durante las sesiones previas con el fin de situarlas en nuestras perspectivas y luchas
actuales.

Sobre el grupo de lectura

El formato para estas sesiones ser de un grupo de lectura guiado. Cada secion ser facilitada por personas
trabajando el tema en cuestin a travs de la investigacin y prctica poltica. Queremos pensar la reproduccin
desde mltiples perspectivas, y con un enfoque analtico. Algunas de las dinamizadoras son: Bue Rbner Hansen,
Manuela Zechner, Paula Cobo Guevara, Francisco Salvini, Imayna Caceres, Melissa Garcia Lamarca (los primeros
tres tambin coordinan esta iniciativa). Proponemos un espacio de traduccin bilinge, movindonos entre
Ingls y Castellano con una poltica flexible de traduccin y apoyo mutuo. Algunas sesiones tendrn el Ingls
como lengua de base, otras el Castellano. Trabajaremos con textos que existen en las dos lenguas. Nuestra
intencin es de crear un espacio no solamente de traduccin lingstica, sino tambin de traduccin contextual,
donde compartimos y exploramos vocabularios y maneras de ver que pertenecen a distintos contextos
(linguisticos, geogrficos, sociales). Tu decides qu y cuanto leer para cada sesin: queremos que la
participacin sea abierta a todxs. De todas formas, las seciones partirn de discusiones sobre los textos
ledos. Contribuciones son muy bienvenidas. Estamos en un momento precario y inicial de colaboracion y el

[ENG] Reproduction between desire and need. Tools for analysis and
struggle. Guided reading group sessions, bilingual and biweekly. 23rd September 2nd
December 2014, 6-9pm at La Electrodomstica.
In this series we develop a common vocabulary to think through the problem of

reproduction as a terrain of struggle and construction. In crisis, unemployment
and precarity it becomes clearer than ever, that we do not have what we need to
live or to achieve and become what we desire. Beyond hyperbolic exaltations of
desire or naturalistic and deterministic concepts of need beyond the masculine
binary of autonomy and heteronomy we speak about a problem of reproduction,
of reproducing our bodies, and our subjective processes. Not a utopia, but a
problem, which gives rise to radically different forms of solutions, conflicting
politics and forms of life: from micro-fascist, religious and family-based searches
for security, to collective politics of common reproduction. We try to develop an
analytic of this field, and explore tools of struggle. And we ask: in what ways might
dispersed struggles starting with often individualised needs and desires, compose and create common struggles
and desires? And what is the role of collective reproduction in revolutionary politics, and how do we disentangle
our needs and desires from the reproduction of our enemies?

1. The problem of reproduction and primitive accumulation 23rd September
In the first session we engage with certain marxian themes in order to ask the questions of how our separation from the means of reproduction was

imposed historically, and how it is constantly reproduced, and how people have dealt with it in a number of ways beyond wage labour. From here
we can discuss the question of the historical materiality of struggles of autonomous desiring and reproduction.

2. The welfare state and other ameliorations 7th October
In this session we discuss the welfare state as a terrain of struggle over reproduction, which demonstrates how the
wage was never sufficient for reproduction of individuals and families. The national social state of Bismarck ,
which provided the early matrix of the welfare state was designed to ameliorate the risk, insecurity and
irregularity of workers reproduction, by controlling it biopolitically. But the welfare state was also a product of
popular demands for more autonomy.

3. Feminist perspectives on reproductive labour and care 21st October
Through a number of readings in autonomist feminism and feminist economics, we will ask the question of the ways in which our reproduction is
complicit with capitalism and gendered relations of power. What is reproductive work and who takes care of it? Who can afford (not to) care?
We will (re-)consider relations between autonomy and heteronomy and touch upon feminist genealogies of struggle, discussing strategies of
subverting reproduction from within.

4. Reproduction, post-coloniality and migration 4th November
Through an engagement with theories of post-coloniality, migration studies, and decolonial thought we engage with the question of the

reprovincialisation of Europe. Today, Europe is also being submitted to structural adjustment policies, and experiencing extreme youth
unemployment and pauperisation, which has long been imposed in the global south. Thus analyses and tools of struggle from the neo/ex-colonies
and migrants, with whom the Europe has long lived in an asymmetrical reproductive interdependence, gain an increased relevance. And at the
same time our struggles for our reproduction face the challenge of composing in solidarity between citizens and migrants, in order to avoid
racialised competition, and false enmities.

5. The political ecology of reproduction 18th November
Finally, we undertake two seminars in political ecology, to investigate the ways in which our reproduction is currently intertwined with ecological
and social upheavals at the sites where the raw materials sustaining us are procured, through capitalist extractivism and expropriations. Here, we
can begin to understand the problem of our metabolism with nature, in relation to terms of the problem and challenge of our reproduction.

6. Final discussion: struggle over reproduction 2nd December
We end the series with an open public discussion of different experiences, tactics and strategies in struggles for reproduction in the crisis.
Together we will try to activate the tools developed in our previous sessions in relation to our situated perspectives and struggles. We hope to base
this discussion on shorter presentations by participants and facilitators, and a series of small readings of text dealing with the struggle within and
against the problem of reproduction.

~ About this guided reading group ~

We are proposing a guided reading group here, where each session will be facilitated by researcher-activists who works on the issues in
question. We want to look at the question of reproduction from multiple lenses, always moving between analysis and the discussion of strategies
and political practices. Facilitators will include: Bue Rbner Hansen, Manuela Zechner, Paula Cobo Guevara, Imayna Caceres, Francisco Salvini,
Melissa Garcia Lamarca (the first three are also coordinators). Furthermore we are proposing a bilingual space of translations, moving between
English and Spanish and with a flexible politics of translation and mutual aid. The base language of some sessions will be English, of some it will
be Spanish. We will work with texts that exist in both languages as well as with texts that only exist in either English or Spanish. We want this
reading group not only to be a space for linguistic but also for contextual translation, sharing and exploring vocabularies and ways of posing
problems in different (linguistic, geographical, social) contexts. It is up to you what and how much you read for each session: anyone should be
able to participate. We will however discuss on the basis of these texts. Contributions are of course very welcome. We are in a precarious and
initial moment of collaboration and putting a lot of work into this. Those who can contribute are invited to do so. If you are interested in
