meaningful experiences.
4. Enhance teachers competencies and knowledge to bring about
effectiveness, efficiency and excellence in achieving the goals of
quality education.
5. Equip the individual with functional knowledge, spiritual values
and attitudes, desirable habits and skills needed to cope with the
changing world.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Library System is a system program that is created in a library
for an easy use of student log-in, borrowing book, searching book and
to produce a report. It gives a good interface to the operating user and
a safe database for the storage of data like books and borrowers. It is
very helpful and useful software for librarians and it requires a
computer for the operation.
Having this of library system will lessen the time and effort of the
librarian of Christ the king schools in finding a book, keeping book
records, and generating reports of records for the specific activities
inside the library of Christ the king.
As an alumnus of Christ the King College of Cavite Foundation
Inc., I want the library of Christ the King to have an advance system,
And to be more interesting to use for the students and encourage them
to use the library for their assignments and projects.
A good library needs to have a pleasant atmosphere with lots of
sitting and reading areas, and a good layout. It has to have lots of
books and many hidden little reading niches between shelves. Second,
technology is everywhere. The shift from traditional libraries to the
digital is not merely a technological evolution.
According with Mr. Geoffrey Freeman, with the emergence and
integration of information technology, many predicted that the library
would become obsolete. That is why the aim of this study is to provide
a solution that would integrate information technology with the
traditional library, and bring back the interest of students to use it.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The study aims to solve the problems encountered and to
change the manual recording of all systems in the library and other
related items. It also aims to provide a monitoring system on
transaction or activity inside the library.
Specifically aims to:

Gather all important requirements for the desired system of

Christ the King, and to analyze each to come out with a ready-to-

follow requirement to meet the users needs.

Make an overall design for the library system that describes the

user requirements.
Develop the required library system GUI, and functions based

from the user requirements.

Test the system to see if there is bugs and errors that is need to

be fixed and ready to use by the user.

Install the system to validate costumer acceptability.
Monitor the performance of the library system to determine
whether the system is aligned with the business strategy and
meets the user requirement.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project proposal will focus on the Library system Christ the

King College of Cavite Foundation Inc. Thus, it will provide computerize

system and database of all the records and transactions inside the
library. The system is a user-friendly.

The system will support two different types of users. Here are the
types and the actions available for each type:
Librarians
The school librarian is the one who can add/remove of book
records, add/remove and edit the user information, search for books
and print out records or reports.
Students
The students will provide their personal information for their
records in the library system every time they enter the library and
borrow a book, they can also search for the books they need.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The current system of Christ the king College of Cavite
Foundation Inc. particularly the records of students who access the
library, nothing is being recorded when students enter the library that
is why the school do not know if someone sneak out a book or other
items. The Christ the kings library has only one librarian and that
librarian is also a P.E. teacher, If the librarian is in her class, the library
is closed and because of that the library is not accessible.
On the other hand the borrowing of the book system is still in
manual recording where students will Log on to Logbook and will write
their name in the library book card where they will give it to the
librarian and then they can now borrow the book.
This method is not efficient because it takes a lot of time and
efforts. The way records are being kept is quite unsafe.

SCOPE, LIMITATION AND DELIMITATION

The study was about the Computerized Library System for Christ
The king College of Cavite Foundation Inc. The implementation of the
system will reduce the time and effort of the users in terms of logging
in, borrowing, searching and printing of records.
Registration
Registration or create user accounts the process is to encode by
the librarian the user information like Student name, grade, section
and contact number. The purpose of this process is for the users to
have record accounts on the system every time they access the library.
User log-in
This part of the process is a log in form filled out by encoding
logging in the users details, the Student name and the password. After
logging in, the system will then verify and trace out match record to
the log in details entered by the users, if log in details are entered
correctly then the user will be able to access the library system. The
purpose is to verify that a user who tries to access the system is
authorized.
Book Catalogue
This part of the process is where you can see all the books and
its details that belongs to the Christ the King library. The purpose of
this process is to have the list of all books that is arranged
systematically with descriptive details.

Borrow a book

This part of the process is a form filled out by encoding the

student details by the librarian, and the book name, authors and
edition, the date borrowed and returned. The purpose of this process is
to have record of users who borrows the book.
Find a book
This part of process is a form filled out by searching the name of
the book and then the system will display all the book that is
related/similar to the name of the book needed. The purpose of this
process is to lessen the time and effort of the users or student to find
the book they need.
Book Acquisitions
This is where librarian encode the books information like book
name, author, edition, number of copies and available copies and the
shelf where the book is located. The purpose of this process is to
lessen the time and effort of the user to find the book they want to
read or borrow.
Reports
The Librarian can create or produce report about the library
usage log, user details and borrowed books and to provide what
information are needed to be print. The purpose of the reports is to
provide a computerized reports about library usage, and user details if
the school management requests.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This research intended to improve the system or the process of
management of Library laboratory of Christ the King College of Cavite
6

Foundation Inc. The significance of this study was to help and give a
benefit to the group below.

Students. Through a computerized library system, they can easily find

the books that they are looking for without going through the
traditional way of searching a book. Convenience is more visible for it
is not time-consuming, resulting to a number of accomplished works.
Librarian. The library system would improve the monitoring of
those who maintain the library. It would be easier to know if a
particular book is on-shelf or not. In addition, they can easily identify
when will the borrowed material be returned and if a borrower has
failed to return the book on its due date.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Acquisitions an asset or object bought or obtained, typically by
a library or museum.
Alumnus a graduate or former student, especially male, of a
particular school, college, or university.
Bugs A software bug is an error, flaw, failure, or fault in a
computer program or system that causes it to produce an
incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways.
Catalogue a complete list of items, typically one in alphabetical
or other systematic order, in particular.
Convenience the state of being able to proceed with something
with little effort or difficulty.
Efficient especially of a system or machine) achieving maximum
productivity with minimum wasted effort or expense.
Emergence the process of coming into view or becoming
exposed after being concealed
Encode convert into a coded form. Convert (information or an
instruction) into a particular form.
Integration -the action or process of integrating.
Obsolete no longer produced or used; out of date.
Pleasant giving a sense of happy satisfaction or enjoyment.
