To Whom It May Concern,

As a journalist with multimedia abilities, I can contribute solid news reporting and writing as
well as videos, photos, in-field audio, podcasting and graphics to the Bradenton Herald during
the summer of 2010. Stories such as the Pokey “bait dog” feature recently displayed on your
front page provide great opportunities for short, documentary-style news video or possibly a
Soundslides and hard news, such as the Chinese drywall localization story, could be augmented
with a graphic or video. I can produce any of this content at a professional standard and on
deadline.

I am a senior in the College of Journalism & Communications at the University of Florida in

Gainesville, Fla., who offers:

Tent City, a Gainesville homeless camp.
• a dedication to 24/7 news coverage, demonstrated by my live coverage of The Fest
8, a Gainesville punk festival, during the fall of 2009 with live blogging, which included
text stories, audio clips, photos and tweeting over the course of three days.
• Culturally sensitive reporting informed by my studies in Anthropology and
International Relations displayed in my coverage of local Muslims, Jews and Christians
as well as Gainesville’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered communities.
• Advanced audio capture, editing and voice over abilities that may be heard in the
resume podcast accompanying this document.
• Video and photos produced with my own equipment that is fit for print and the web.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in a variety of programs which
allow creation of static graphics, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and interactive
graphs and charts, such as AMcharts and Google Maps, as well as HTML, XML and CSS.
