Charlotte area HR & Recruiting Manager for the OnStar/GM and Comcast Cable call centers
managed by Convergys in Charlotte NC. Supervised recruiting and administrative staff at both
sites.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for staffing weekly or bi-weekly new hire classes of 24 new employees for two 24/7
call centers. Filling a new hire class of 24 involved the sourcing, testing and interviewing as many
as 200 applicants per week.
• As a member of senior management participated in all site management conferences and business
planning.
• Responsible for the processing of all corporate, client, state and federal paperwork, on boarding
and orientation of new hires
• Oversee and approved new hire background checks and drug screens for all potential employees.
• Developed internship program with UNC Charlotte and Queens University involving two to three
interns per semester. Interviewed, hired, trained, managed, and mentored HR interns during
their internship.
• Manage recruiters, administrative staff, and interns at both sites.
• Processing applicants and newly hired employees in applications such as Vurv applicant tracking
system, PeopleSoft, and Digital Solutions.

specializing in Voice and Data solutions, with emphasis in large commercial telephone systems.

Responsibilities
• Managed all service engineers, account coordinators, administrative, and dispatch personnel.
• Responsible for customer relationship management, problem solving, and customer satisfaction.
• Supervised all administrative and service personnel
• Recruited and hired certified system engineers for both permanent and contract positions. Hiring
Nortel, Inter-Tel and NEC engineers with the appropriate certifications required national
searches and personnel with those certifications were in high demand and difficult to locate.

contracts.

*Note: Restructuring in organization and a significant back injury which occurred at just about the same
time led to me leaving Tropical Foods and required time to recuperate before resuming my career.

• Assumed leadership of newly created IT department to lead initiative to migrate from a strictly
mainframe environment to a Windows based corporate WAN/LAN environment incorporating
the AS400 mainframe into the integrated Windows network.
• Led many upgrades and projects including Exchange upgrade, AS400 upgrade, and server
upgrades.

new branch facility openings. Designed office and warehouse space, drew elevations, and
supervised major building additions, acting as liaison with general contractor. Configured layouts,
created drawings, and arranged for new additions or changes in office or cubicle configurations.
Arranged for acquisition and installation of all voice and data at new locations.
• Wrote all training and end user documentation, conducted training classes at all locations and
trained new users. Wrote all training manuals.
