Duties and Responsibilities performed as a Pump Man are:
During drilling operations to monitor the performance of the Mud Pumps.
During drilling operations to monitor level of Mud in Pits, and advises the Driller and
Mud Loggers before mixing, transferring or conducting any other activities which may cause
fluctuations to PVT Monitoring Systems.
To treat and mix chemicals as required by the Assistant Driller and Mud Engineer either
personally or with assistance from Roustabouts.

 Perform repairs as required and preventive maintenance to the Pumps, suction and discharge
valves of all equipment associated with pre-charge of Main Pumps and Mixing Systems.

Maintain chemicals in the sack store organized and stacked neatly; and ensuring a high
standard of housekeeping.
Supervising and participating in the cleaning and painting of work areas within my
responsibility.
Assisting on the rig floor with operations such as running casing and tubing, handling BOP'S
and at any other time as required by Driller, provided all due maintenance is performed and
no mud treatment is required.
