Driver/Outreach Worker- 19 Positions (Seasonal/Full-Time)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Provide outreach and transportation to homeless adults and families to available shelters in the
DC area. Transport homeless clients to and from scheduled and approved destinations as
directed. Canvas the city streets looking for homeless at-risk clients needing assistance with
transportation and/or comfort items. Communicate with hotline dispatcher via two-way radios in
getting resources to assist persons identified as at risk or requiring services to combat hazards
due to inclement weather. Escort persons identified to vacancies within the overnight shelter
system.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
First-Aid & CPR Certification. Bilingual/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a current D Class drivers license, and a
clean five (5) year driving record with no more than two points. At least two (2) years of
experience driving a 15 passenger vehicle. Must be able to work a varied schedule, including
holidays and weekends, in all types of weather. Must have comprehensive geographic knowledge
of Washington, DC to be able to navigate the streets and neighborhoods. Familiar with Microsoft
Word and Outlook.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a
criminal background check and/or FBI fingerprinting, and pre-employment drug screening as
applicable for the position.
NOTE: This position requires a recent 5 year driving record with no more than two
(2) points as well as a High school diploma or GED Equivalent when applying.
TB test is required upon date of hire.

This position IS NOT in the collective bargaining unit.

This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to mandatory random drug and alcohol testing.
