Qualification Summary
The Learning Resource Network (LRN) Level 5 qualification in Management
and Enterprise is designed to provide the knowledge, understanding and
skills learners need to become managers in business within their chosen
sector. It is aimed at those in business management or other sectors with
a responsibility for higher-management and/or strategic management.
It also provides an opportunity for those learners wishing to gain a
nationally recognised higher level management-specific qualification in
order to enter employment in management, or to progress to further
management qualifications, such as a Foundation Degree/Degree.
The core units within these qualifications are focused on developing
effective Management and Enterprise understanding, enabling the
candidate to analyse the business and implement change, developing
networks, reflective practice and development in Management and
Enterprise. The further units allow for more in depth coverage of business
understanding whilst also allowing candidates to specialise in one
particular employment sector.
Specific to the LRN qualification is the unit:
International English Language Competency Assessment (IELCA)
Which allows candidates to gain the mandatory level of English
requirement that is necessary for University entrance (at levels B1-C2),
and can be taken discretionally.

Progression
The LRN recommendation for advancement once completing the Level 5
Management and Enterprise qualification would be to progress onto Level
6 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Business and/or Management, or to

progress onto the Foundation element or first Year of a Degree in

Business.
