First of all, I would say thank

God for His blessing, we can be here in good condition. I would also say thank for the chance
that giving to me. Im Neva Clarisa from Methodist 1 Senior High School. Today Im going
to deliver my speech about Go Green.
Ladies and gentleman, the biggest challenge that mankind is facing in this century is Global
Warming. Every nation, every forum, every people, everywhere in everything, they discuss
about global warming and how to save our earth from this biggest threat. With the number of
natural disasters growing high every day, its like our earth is crying out loud, screaming and
waiting for our help. We have to do something to save our earth. We must do our part and it
will be our next generation that will feel the effect.
Well, were all just normal people with day jobs and we do hope maybe we can make a
difference. Every day, people all over the world realize that each one of us has potential to
make a difference in our community and environment. And it starts with us. We have to be
the messengers and the one who start caring about this planet and taking action to make a
better world.
Going green its like baby step, where you gradually replace a few things you might do a
regular basis, with other thing you can do that wont cause such a debt to the environment.
Sometimes in individual, companies or organizations make a choice to go green in very big
ways, by replacing a number of systems or behaviors with ones that will either be helpful or
at least not harmful to the planet.
We as an individual also can make a difference. The question now, how can we save our
world? The answer is simpler than you think. You dont have to go miles away from your
home. If you try to follow the few simple steps that I will give to you now, you will start to
help our world.
First, throw garbage in its place. This is a very simple way to start help our earth. There are
much advantages if we do it. Such as, we can keep our environment clean.
Second, reduce the use of plastic. How we apply that? Its easy. If you want to buy
something, bring your own shopping bag. Try not to use much plastic bag.
Third, use all products as necessarily. If you dont watch TV, turn it off. If you want to go to
nearby place, try to walk or use public transport. It can help us to keep fit and decrease the
number of traffic jam.

Ladies and gentleman, if everybody stuck to these rules, we should be doing a great thing by
protecting the earth. So please take into consideration to what Ive said and try to do your
part. Im just an ordinary kid hoping that hopefully being here today and speaking can
somehow make tomorrow a better place for myself, my generation, and those who follow.
But it will take more than hope to fix the situation we have found ourselves in. Our cause
doesnt start and end with this rally. We must continue this effort tomorrow and the day after.
Like most of you, Im just an ordinary person trying to make a difference. Im asking you
now, please join me. This earth belongs to us as human. When anything bad happens to it, we
are in charge to make it right. Save our world, save our generation, save our earth and save
our life. Thankyou.

Ladies and gentleman, we know that now days the quality of education in Indonesia is very
bad. UNICEF said that 2 million Indonesian children who should be in school are not. They
dont know about education. They never realize what education is. Actually, education is a
process of learning and knowing. Its a holistic process and continues through our life.
Education provides us with knowledge about the world. Education is very important for us.
We need education. Why? Why is education so important? Why we need education? Well, the
answer is simple.
First, education gives us knowledge. A direct effect of education is knowledge gain.
Education gives us knowledge of the world around. It develops in us a perspective of looking
at life. It helps us form opinions and develop a point of view. The information we are
constantly bombarded with, cannot be converted into knowledge without the catalyst called
education. Education makes us capable of interpreting things rightly and applying the
gathered information in real life scenarios. Education is not limited to lessons from textbooks.
Real education is obtained from the lessons taught by life.
Next, it builds our character. Education is important as it teaches us the right behavior and
good manners, thus making us civilized. Its the basis of culture and civilization. Its
instrumental in the development of our values and virtues. Education cultivates us into
mature individuals who capable of planning for the future, and taking the right decisions in
life. It gives us an insight into living, and teaches us to learn from experience. It makes us
self-confident, and develops our abilities to think, analyze, and judge. It fosters principles of
equality and socialism. It forms a support system for one to excel in life. It is the backbone of
society. It won't be wrong to say that good education makes us more human.
Then, education makes us to be better citizens. Education makes a worthy contribution to our
lives, by making us responsible citizens. We get to know our history and culture through
education. Education opens our mind and expands our horizon. It enables us to understand
our duties as a citizen and encourages us to follow them. There is no denying the fact that an
educated person is a better citizen.

Education also ensures us a productive future. Education is futuristic in character, in so far

that it ensures that the one who receives good education gets a secure future. Our productivity
is increased by acquiring new skills and talents through education. We find ourselves in the
most competitive jobs, courtesy the right training and education. The importance of education
is evident by the dizzy heights we achieve in life.
Ladies and gentleman, if everybody keeps thinking that education is important and they
realize the reason why its important, our country will be the good country. Our country will
have a good citizen, who has a good future and good job. Im just an ordinary person trying
to change our country to be better. Im just the kid hoping that everybody can have a good
education, be a better citizen, and have a productive future. This country belongs to us as a
citizen. When everybody thinks that our country is a country with bad quality in education,
we are in effort to make it better. Save our country, save our children, save our quality of
education, and have a brighter future. Thank you.
