5 Core Commitments

1. Live a great commandment lifestyle

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and
intelligence.' 38 This is the most important, the first on any list. 39 But there is a second to set
alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' 40 These two commands are pegs; everything
in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."

2. Respect appointed leadership and one another

Hebrews 13:17 Be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the
condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their
leadership, not its drudgery. Why would you want to make things harder for them?

Philippians 2:1-4 If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any
difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart,
if you care - 2 then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. 3
Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help
others get ahead. 4 Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long
enough to lend a helping hand.

3. Grow, Serve & Share the vision of New Life Community Church and Collide

Ephesians 6:7- Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people

4. Refrain from inappropriate relationships and sexual misconduct

2 Corinthians 6:13 I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live
openly and expansively! 14 Don't become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a
partnership out of right and wrong? That's not partnership; that's war. Is light best friends with dark? 15
Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands? 16 Who would think of
setting up pagan idols in God's holy Temple? But that is exactly what we are, each of us a temple in
whom God lives. God himself put it this way: "I'll live in them, move into them; I'll be their God and
they'll be my people. 17 So leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good," says God. "Don't
link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself.

5. Abstain from the use and abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs

Galatians 5:19 It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time:
repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and
joyless grabs for happiness; 20 trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat
competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be
loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; 21 the vicious habit of
depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of
community. I could go on. This isn't the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your
freedom this way, you will not inherit God's kingdom.

I am committing to live and lead by the 5 Core Commitments of Collide and want to make my
life accountable to those who make up the core of this ministry.
