Course Policies
1. A student is allowed to take ONLY ONE make-up exam
when he/she misses a long exam and has a valid reason
for missing the exam.
In the case of illness, bereavement, or official UP duty, a
medical certificate, death certificate, or official endorsement,
respectively, must be submitted as soon as possible.
The make-up exam, which is multiple-choice type and has
40 items, is given one week after the missed long exam.
There is no make-up exam for the final exam.
2. A student who missed the make-up exam due to a valid
reason will be given a score of zero for his/her missed
exam.

3. The student may be exempted from taking the final exam.
The following conditions in order to be exempted from taking the
final exam are the following:
(a) Average three long exams should be at least 70%, i.e.
average score of 28/40.
(b) Pass all the exams. (Passing score is 20/40)
(c) Quiz and recitation grade is should be at least 75%
(d) Pre Final grade should at least be 2.00.
Pre Final grade is calculated by taking the average of the
three long exams as the final exam score.
4. A student who is exempted from taking the final exam (and choose
not to take the final exam) will have a grade that is equal to his/her pre
final grade.

Attendance
5. University rules apply for attendance (lecture and recitation).
(a) If the student reached 13 absences, majority of which are
excused, then the student will be forced drop.
(b) If the student reached 13 absences, majority of which are
unexcused, then the student will be given a grade of 5.00.
(c) If the student reached more than 13 absences, then the student
will be given a grade of 5.00.
6. Valid reasons include but are not limited to the following:
a) Illness
b) Death of the immediate family member
c) Official UP representation.
Daily routine
1) Arrival (on or before 7:00 am)
2) Announcements
3) Review/ Answer the previous quiz
4) Close door at (7:10 am)
5) Discussion
- Participatory quiz (Exercises along the discussion)
6) Submission of the participatory quiz
- Designated location per section
7) Dismissal at 7:55 am
