in literature field like Rabindranath Tagore, Madhusudan Dutta, Nazrul Islam, Sarat
Chandra Chatterjee, Berankim Chandra Chatterjee, Upmanyu Chatterjee , Arundhati
Roy, jhumpa lahiri to name a few.
4. Contribution to Science - Bengal has produced some world class scientist during
the Renaissance period like Jagdish Bose, Prafulla Chandra Roy
5. Contribution in Indian Freedom Struggle - Bengal has produced many prominent
National level Leaders during freedom struggle from British. To name a few: Netaji
Subhas Chandra Bose, Surendranath Bonerjee, Bipin Chandra Pal, Shyama Prasad

(stir fried vegetables) and finally some famous sweets like Rosogolla (cottage
cheese in sugar syrup), Chomchom, Sandesh, Misti Doi (sweet curd), Rosomalai
(cottage cheese in thick milk syrup)
And, this list could not have been complete without a mention of the very
quintessential Bengali Mishti Doi. This light and sweet blend of milk, yogurt and
coarse brown sugar, left to ferment overnight, marks all celebrations and
auspicious occasions and rosogolla
