Executive Summary
The money market is a monetary system that involves the
lending & borrowing of short term funds. India money has seen
exponential growth just after the globalization initiative in 1992.
It has been observed that financial institution do employ money
market instruments for financing short term monetary
requirements of various sectors such as agriculture, finance &
manufacturing. The performance of the India money market has
been outstanding in the past 20years.
The project is based on money market. Money market is fixed
income securities . It is basically concerned with the lending &
borrowing of short terms funds. Money investment is the
dedication of resources or assets to creating financial benefits in
the form of income or profits n futures. As the name implies, it
does not actually deal in cash or money.
Transaction has to be conducted without the help of brokers.
Trading in the money market involves Treasury bills,
commercial papers, bankers acceptance certificates of deposit,
fedreal funds, & short-lived mortgage- & asset- back securities.
It provides liquidity funding for the global financial system.
It is not a single homogenous market. The easiest way for
individual to access to the money market is through amoney
market mutual fund. The active part of the moneymarket is the
market for overninght call & term & conditions btween banks &
institutions & repo transactions.
