MDS Tree Plantation, Organic Farming &

Role of Women
Mahila Dakshata Samiti has been campaigning
for the Universal Environment Protection
in novel manner by motivating its members by
planting Trees with focus on Organic Farming.
The unique feature of the campaign will be
raising deeper realization and womens
commitment to protect environment through
planting trees of Neem, Peeple, Jamun and
Mango for crucial balance of Nature, ultimately
enjoying the benefits like:
- Recognizing the laudable contribution of Women of society
- Shields against the harms of Air Pollution
- Help prevent water pollution and combat climate change, resist natural calamities
like flood
- Provide food, Fruits, Medicines, Timber and paper products
- Add unity, bring diverse groups together, brings optimism in people living around
them
- Lessen the heat of temperature
- Create Economic opportunities
- Natural beauty and serenity & Protecting nature by giving Mother earth back
The second phase will be planting fruit trees like Papaya, Guava and Banana keeping
in view the welfare of our senior citizens. Special locations/ houses will be identified
for planting fruit trees.
MDS President Smt. Suman Krishan Kant kicked off the mission by planting Trees in its
head office at D-II \ 45, Kidwai Nagar West, New Delhi 110023, on Thursday 18, June
2015
Dr. Upasana Singh MDS, Gr. NOIDA Branch president and President of Human Touch
Foundation presented an audio-visual session on the Organic farming & Role of
Women
MDS envisages moving further with the following plan of action for the sustainability
of the mission:
Train Opinion Leaders who would go to communities/members to motivate people /
kids to plant and nurture saplings as their routine task.
Motivate schools to invite Quiz shows, debates on the subject.
Will organize a workshop on Promoting Organic Farming inviting Winner of National
Productivity Award as resource person and resource persons from Horticulture
department.
Promote sense of ownership in target group so they nurture each sapling till it
becomes a tree.
Growing plants to be given as gifts on various occasions as part of economic
venture for women
Reach out maximum segment of society including, Temples, Churches, Mosques, in
charges.
Open Sapling distribution / sales outlets may add other accessories like good soil,
organic fertilizers, shovels, water sprinklers along with massive publicity of location
of these spots,
to facilitate buyers, ultimately promoting Socio-Economic empowerment of women
in NCR.

Train women gardeners


We have invited members to commence activities from their respective places. We
are happy to inform that we have received good response. So far Smt. Kshma
Kushwah, Dr. Indira Mishra, Shri Vinay Kumar, Dr. Upasana Singh, Ms. Rani Bhatia
(For Snehalaya), Indira Saxena have already given consent to boost the mission by
organizing activities in selective areas.
Periodical progress reports will be published on this site.
