Pregnant
1. Antenatal Registration
Pregnant women can
avail
free
prenatal
services
at
their
respective health center.
2.Prenatal visits
Screening includes an
extensive health history,
a
complete
physical
examination,
including
pelvic examination and
blood and urine specimen
for
laboratory
work.
Manual
pelvic
measurements can be
taken to determine pelvic
adequacy.
Include
support
people
in
a
prenatal visit so
that
visits
are
family
centered,
making all feel a
part of pregnancy.
3. Tetanus Toxoid
Immunization: A series of
2 doses of TT vaccine
must be received by a
pregnant women one
month before delivery
and 3 booster after
childbirth.
4. Micronutrient
Supplementation- Vitamin
A and iron supplement for
the prevention of anemia
and Vitamin A deficiency.
5. Seminars: Pregnancy
or Motherhood most

Puerperium
1. Support to Breast
Feeding
2.thourough assessment :
The mother is assessed
for tears, and is sutured if
necessary. Also, she may
suffer from constipation
or hemorrhoids, both of
which would be managed.
The bladder is also
assessed for infection,
retention, and any
problems in the muscles.
3. Observe for
psychological changes
checking for postpartum
blues.

Postpartum
1.Health Teachings:
a. Encourage
breastfeeding
b. Inform on birth
registration
2.Group classes
Providing group classes
like bathing infants,
breastfeeding techniques,
minimizing jealousy in
older children.
3. Family Planning
Counseling
Proper counseling of
couples on the
importance of FP will help
them inform on the right
choice of FP methods,
proper spacing of birth
and addressing the right
number of children. Birth
spacing of three to five
years interval will help
completely recover the
health of a mother from
previous pregnancy and
childbirth. The risk of
complications increases
after the second birth.

women learn more about
breastfeeding so they can
appreciate
the
advantages
of
breastfeeding
over
formula feeding. They
stress that women should
try
to
breastfeed
exclusively for the first 6
months
C. Child birth classes
Preparation for child birth
classes focus mainly on

explaining the birth


process rather than
pregnancy and ways to
prevent or reduce the
pain of childbirth such as
