Yes we do regular Disaster Drill and is very important, Drill can include
responses by individual to protect themselves, such as learning how to
shelter in place, understanding what to do in an evacuation, and organizing
meet up points so that people can find each other after disaster. For
emergency services and other first responder, disaster drills handle topics
like what to do when communications are cut off, how to deal with lack of
access to equipment, tools and even basic services like water and power and
to handle evacuations. A disaster drill also provide a chance to practice for
events such as mass casualties which can occur during a disaster.
Disaster drills are the only real way of functionally test our capabilities to
handle the real deal on the- job training taking place in the middle of a
disaster could become a disaster in itself. The primary goal of any disaster
drill is to improve operations, decision-making, planning, and management
skills of personnel. In everyday life we do not respond to enough real disaster
to become proficient in our skills. It demonstrate the need for readiness at all
times. Preparing for the what if is an integral part of our business.
Last July 23, 2015, Public schools of Baguio and Benguet conducted the
simultaneous earthquake drill and took seriously the lifesaving move, duck
and hold. The simultaneous drill that started when a supposed earthquake
stuck the different places that start at 9 am. During disaster drill, Students
are expected to practice things like evacuating the building and assisting
each other so that they will know what to do when a real alarm sounds,
Students may also organize disaster drills for their families so that household
member will know what to do in an emergency.
