Scope of Work

The water supply project outputs will consist in a fully functioning water supply system, inclusive
of:
i) Water collection through Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) berkads, brackish water from the
borehole Reverse Osmosis (RO) system.
ii) Water distribution system from the elevated tank to the school compound distribution pipe
line network shall be installed house hold connections and meter.
iii) Roof water collection system and facilities including Gutters, down pipe, and all necessary
fitting directed to the Berkads and pumped to the elevated tank
iv) The planning and installation of groundwater protection and recharge measures using
surplus rainwater and improved management of wastewater;
v) Installation of Reverse Osmosis system where the brackish water would be treated and
disinfected.
vi) Supply, installation, Testing and commissioning of water tank with the capacity of
compressed/pressed steel tank (15 and 30) cubic meters.

Scope of work shall cover the following

Supplying, laying, jointing pipe, with specials such as tees, bend, door bend, coupling, Y with door,
unions, rubber ring, etc. cutting, earth work excavation, back filling, making good the walls, testing
the line, etc.

required output water in accordance with the conditions of service, required
performance, materials stated in Reverse osmosis specification.
2. Pipes
2.1. Piping for transmission of water between project elements, including piping for raw
water transmitted between the borehole and the reverse osmosis system, piping to
convey potable and brackish water from the elevated tank to the distribution system.
2.2. Excavating the trench and preparing the bed for laying the pipes, furnish all
necessary facilities for properly lowering and placing the section of the pipe in trench
without damage and shall properly install the pipe subsequently.

5. Storage tank. Storage of treated water and brackish water in a transmission system is
generally composed of two components. (Brackish water storage and treated water storage)
the Elevated tank will be located on the highest elevation land (4m high available along the
pipeline route, elevated tank siting is a function of the operational parameters of the water
delivery system and the topography of the pipe line routes.

and
5.1. Float switch arrangement with two way float switch the systems pressure
switches should be set to allow pumping to approximate closely demand thereby
keeping reservoir levels within a preselected range. In the event that a reservoir reaches
the maximum level allowable, an altitude valve will close and isolate the reservoir from
the upstream supply to prevent overflow. When the reservoir levels falls to within the
normal operating range, the valve will re-open and again allow inflow from the
upstream pipe. The operation of the reservoir will control the volume of water pumped
from the source.
6. Pump
6.1. Pump discharge line will be equipped with a valve for pump control, a check valve to
prevent backflow in the event of a power failure or other pump shutdown
6.2. Metering. The outflow must be metered by installing flow meter; the meters should
be located at least 10m away from the pump.

implementation of rain water harvesting system. Construction and erection materials for
implementing the system. Construction later drain network along with all necessary
interconnection from these drains

plants, appliances, necessary supervision by competent Supervisors and execution of all
incidental items not specified or indicated but implied or required to complete the work
under this scope in all respects and in strict accordance with the specifications, and
drawings including their revisions and amendments made from time to time.
6.5. Supply, erection and commissioning of pumps to be installed along with all required
piping, valves, fittings etc.,
6.6. The rain water from roof top through gutters and down pipe drain shall be directed
and stored in berckads where rain water shall be pumped to Raw Water elevated tank.
6.7. Supply and lying of DN 114, 141 PVC pipe line as shown in the drawing with
suitable fittings/accessories.

ends. The internal and external surfaces of pipes shall be smooth, clean and free from
grooving and other defects. The end shall be cleanly cut and square with the axis of the
pipe
6.9. Laying of pipeline includes excavation, bedding and refilling of the pipeline route

6.10. Supplying, laying, jointing and testing PVC pipe, with specials such as tees, bend,
door bend, coupling, Y with door, unions, rubber ring, etc. cutting, earth work
excavation, back filling, making good the walls, testing the line, etc
