SHAKE IT UP
A. INTRODUCTION
The title of our business is Shake it Up. It is a fruit shake stand where well be
selling fruit shakes with a variety of flavors such as banana, mango, watermelon and
avocado. We have chosen the fruit shake stand as our business because of the growing
demand of people regarding their means of quenching their thirst. The flavors well be
selling in the fruit shake stand would depend on the fruits available for each season, but
we will mainly serve the aforementioned flavors, and a twist with these flavors as chocobanana, mango-banana and pineapple-mango. We plan on building our business in
Rizal St. Concepcion Uno in Marikina City.
Starting a fresh fruit shake business is a good business venture to start especially
more and more people are becoming health conscious. Fruits are generally high in
fiber, water, vitamin C, sugars and also contain various phytochemicals that are good for
the health. The reason why we chose the banana, mango, watermelon and avocado is
because of how common and how readily available these fruits are in the Philippines.
Also because of how commonly it is used in making shake, and because of the
sweetness, the demand, and how refreshing these fruits are.

B. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Well serve creamy banana delight which is a banana flavored shake. The scientific
name of banana is musa acuminate. There will also be mango madness mango
flavored shake (mangos scientific name is magnifera indica) and avocado dream, an
avocado or persea Americana flavored shake. Well also serve red summer punch
which is citrullus lanatus more commonly known as watermelon flavored shake.
The banana, a soft yellow fruit with a crescent-like shape, has a sweet taste and
smell. One serving of banana contains 110 calories, 30g of carbohydrates and 1 gram
of protein. They are naturally free of fat, cholesterol and sodium. The mango, on the
other hand, is generally sweet, with either pulpy, firm or fibrous texture. It has an energy

value of 250kJ per 100g and contains vitamin C and folate. Watermelons have smooth
hard rind, are usually green with dark green striper or yellow spots and with a juicy,
sweet interior flash usually deep red to pink with many seed. It is composed mostly of
water, but also contains thiamin, riboflavin, vitamins A, C & B-6. The physical properties
of the avocado are its pear-shaped form, with rough surface and yellowish green flesh
and large central stone. As for its chemical properties, the avocado is very rich in
unsaturated fatty acids, contains vitamin D, F and such, and has rich in potassium,
magnesium, calcium and iron.
The banana, watermelon, mango and avocado will be used as the main flavors of
the shake which will be sold in the stall and to make a healthy smoothie.
To individuals, it will be used to satisfy their need their thirst. It would also
provide nutrients for the body. Fruit shakes can fill you up, satisfy your sweet cravings
and when made right way, provide with loads of vitamins and antioxidants.
The geographical/ areas of dispersion of the bananas commonly found in Pablo,
Davao del Norte, the mangoes are mostly found in Guimaras, the watermelon is
common in Cubuyao, while the avocado can be found most commonly in Cagayan
Valley. These fruits are also found in markets, and are sold by street vendors.

C. DEMAND
We aim to satisfy the demand of the people around that area such as students and
gym-goers.

Our target customers are people of all ages, youths and adults.

It is

because shakes are not limited to a certain age group. Anyone can drink our shakes
since our products can refresh and provide nutrients for a healthier body. Our target
clients are people of all ages- those who wish to quench their thirst and refresh
themselves with a drink. Also, our particular target clients/ consumers are those who go
to the gym in the area since the fruits well be turning into shake are high in protein.

Lamuan in Marikina City is where we choose to market.

We have chosen this

location because of how accessible it is for potential customers. Also, a lot of people
pass by this area every day. We will be making our shakes affordable so people in this
area may come to our shop and buy our products. Especially since there is a gym and
a school around this vicinity, we think we will be able to market to them.
Our business type is sole proprietorship, since our business is just small and a
single person can manage this business. As for the classification, our shake shop is a
retail store.

To be able to reach our customers, we would send out flyers as our

strategy to promote the shop. Wed also conduct a survey to know what people around
the area want so we can provide goods to satisfy them.
