CourseSmart at http://www.coursesmart.com/9780136048664. The text is
on reserve in the Science and Engineering Library.

Lectures:

The material for which you are responsible is defined by the content and
scope of the lectures and class discussions. If it is written on the
blackboard, you should know it. You will not be required to be familiar
with subjects in the text that are not covered in the lectures. Copies of all
handouts are available on the class web site.

Homework:

Homework assignments will be given on approximately a weekly basis and

will be due on the date indicated. Homework will be corrected and
returned with solutions as soon as possible. Your homework grade will be
the percentage of problems attempted with reasonable effort and handed in
on time.

Discussion
Sections and
Office Hours:

Attendance at discussion sections is optional and you may attend any

section you wish each week. Prof. Stolzenbachs office hours are 11:0012:00 on Tuesday, but you may also make an appointment or drop by. The
time and location of the TA office hours will be scheduled later.

A Facebook group called CEE 153 has been established for posts relating
to the class, including homework problems. Membership is optional. To
become a member go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/CEE1532014/
and make a request to join.

Web Site:

Powerpoint presentations, problem sets and solutions and other material

will be posted on the class web site, which may be accessed at
https://my.engineering.ucla.edu/. All enrolled students should be able to
access this web page.

Exams:

There will be one mid-term exam (two hours) and a final exam (three
hours). All exams are closed book except for a summary sheet (any size,
both sides). You may bring the summary sheet from the midterm to the
final. Please bring your own exam books or paper. The
Science/Engineering exam books are preferred but not required.

Grades:

There is no strict formula, but the weighting will be approximately: Final

exam - 50%; Mid-term exam 30%; Homework - 20%.
