RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

Altitude Inc.

Somerville, MA
Mechanical Engineering Co-op
January 2015 Present
Facilitated development of a new-to-world kitchen appliance using an agile build and test methodology. Planned and
executed demonstrations for client. Fast paced project with many design constraints requiring creative solutions.
Designed new architecture for a kitchen appliance aimed at improving use and cleanability. Required extensive patent
research and submission of a provisional patent. Assisted with product testing, prototyping, and part design.
Utilized SolidWorks master modeling to integrate new components into product.
Determine design specification for sourcing components including motors, seals, 3D printed parts, and machined parts.
Managed implementation of new 3D printing capability: set-up, debugging/maintenance, training entire company on use.
Gathered performance requirements for design and construction of testing fixtures and prototypes in the shop.
Applied new material technology to consumer goods: identify use scenarios, design product, sewing construction. Brought
new material to real world application. Worked through chemical tuning and engineering mechanics. Regular client contact.

Fikst Product Development

Woburn, MA
Mechanical Engineering Co-op
January 2014 June 2014
Member of biomedical device design team. Conducted tests to identify source of failure (microfluidic bubble generation).
Advocated for major design changes based on testing. Participated in design brainstorm, SolidWorks CAD, and prototyping.
Identified design metrics. Built test fixtures and developed testing protocols for optimizing prototype concepts and designs.
Contacted clients and took minutes at weekly client meetings. Responsible for compiling test data for presentations.
Operated equipment for prototyping: 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machine, table saw, band saw, and drills.

Water Purification Research

Fort Collins, CO; Boston, MA; Santa Cruz, Bolivia

SIRF Award Winner and Independent Science Fair Project Developer
October 2008 July 2014
In high school, worked independently in a microbiology lab; invented, built, and tested four iterations of an ultraviolet water
purifier for use in developing countries and during natural disasters.
o Awards in Microbiology and Engineering at four international science competitions between 2009-2012.
Awarded $8000 Scholars Independent Research Fellowship for traveling to Bolivia for purifier testing. Interviewed locals and
sampled water from rural communities. Managed lab processing: results proved the purifier eliminated >90% of bacteria.
