6 Days Dark
[2]
FADE IN:
1
THE LEGEND OF 6 DAYS DARK It was said in ancient Israel that insanity was a result of
a disturbance of the mind caused by supernatural forces or
an angry God, as a punishment for sins or failure to follow
the commandments.
Six days of darkness, six days of night, where the sunrise
does not come. Each day, darker than the day before. Each
day, your soul is darker, until it is no more. And on the
sixth day, your very existence will no longer be.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
6 Days Dark
[3]
She looks down into the darkness at the gurgling rapid moving
river.
The drop must be over one hundred feet, if the fall does not
kill her, the river certainly will.
A thin early evening fog hovers in and around the bridge and
the river's banks.
Dark Tanja takes a deep breath in anticipation of going over
the four foot guardrail and into the river, she is intent in
ending her life...
ALEKSANDRA (O.S.)
Can I say something?
Startled, and interrupted,.. Dark Tanja turns around and
sees ALEKSANDRA (38 years old) lighting a cigarette.
DARK TANJA
What!?
ALEKSANDRA
Considering your physique, you
will probably survive the drop
into the river, then the current
will take you, pulling you under
every few seconds, not enough to
drown you, not right away. By the
time you reach the second bridge
a couple of kilometers down river
some idiot would-be savior will
no doubt dive in to try to save
you. He will drown, just like you
will. There are more efficient
ways of killing yourself dear.
Dark Tanja is stunned.
DARK TANJA
... Like how!?
We can tell by the expression on Dark Tanja's face that she
cannot believe she just asked that.
6 Days Dark
[4]
ALEKSANDRA
You can try stepping in front of
a bus? But that could take some
time if you don't have a bus
schedule. Or you could cut your
wrists, if you don't mind all the
blood that comes with that.
ALEKSANDRA
Then there's always hanging, if
you know how to make a noose.
DARK TANJA
Are you crazy!?
Wide-eyed and excited Aleksandra responds ALEKSANDRA
Yes! Are you?
Not sure how to reply to that Dark Tanja simply answers DARK TANJA
I must be.
Aleksandra steps closer to Dark Tanja.
ALEKSANDRA
I'm Aleksandra!
Dark Tanja faintly replies DARK TANJA
... Tanja.
Aleksandra gives Dark Tanja a close look-over.
ALEKSANDRA
How long have you been on this
bridge Tanja?
DARK TANJA
Don't know, maybe four or five
hours.
ALEKSANDRA
That's a long time to decide
whether to go over or not.
Dark Tanja does not answer.
6 Days Dark
[5]
ALEKSANDRA
Why don't you come with me. I
live just over the hill. We'll
have a few drinks, and then if
you're still up to it we'll find
a better way for you to kill
yourself.
Dark Tanja is taken aback by Aleksandra's dark charisma.
DARK TANJA
You are crazy!
ALEKSANDRA
Absolutely!.. So what do you say,
you coming?
Dark Tanja considers the strange proposition for a long
moment...
And then DARK TANJA
Okay.
Aleksandra extends her hand to Dark Tanja and pulls her away
from the guardrail.
ALEKSANDRA
It's a little bit of a walk from
here, but that might help clear
your head.
Aleksandra begins to walk... And Dark Tanja follows.

The erotic foreplay between Aleksandra and the remaining
woman continues...
And then suddenly Aleksandra launches into a frenzy and
plunges the dagger repeatedly into the woman's neck causing
blood to spray profusely. The woman drops face first into
Aleksandra's lap. Her body convulses violently while it
clings to the last few seconds of life.
Aleksandra's nude body is covered in blood, she puts the
blade to her mouth and licks the blood...

The Nurse gives Doctor Matic a nod and a final look at Tanja
and then leaves the building.
The other Nurse behind the reception looks on with interest.
DR. MATIC
Can I examine you. Just to be
certain that everything is okay?
Tanja considers the question and nods her head "yes".
The attractive nurse behind the reception counter rolls her
eyes in disgust obviously not convinced at Tanja's need for
help.
Doctor Matic leads Tanja into one of several near-by rooms.

Tanja points with her eyes to a name tag on the Doctors shirt.
Dr. Matic looks down at his shirt and smiles embarrassingly
as he realizes that in fact pinned to his shirt is a name
tag with his name on it.
DR. MATIC
Well there's certainly nothing
wrong with your observation
abilities.
TANJA
Do you think?
DR. MATIC
Why are you here Tanja?
TANJA
Because a nurse brought me in here.
DR. MATIC
But why did she do that?
Tanja considers the question carefully,..
And then answers TANJA
I was tired and needed to sit
down for a moment. But there was
nowhere to sit outside.
DR. MATIC
Are you hurt?
TANJA
You asked me that already, and I
said no. What kind of Doctor are
you anyway?
DR. MATIC
I'm a psychiatrist. I help people.
TANJA
If I were hurt, then how would
you help me?
6 Days Dark
[20]
DR. MATIC
That depends on what kind of hurt
you are in. Naturally if it were
a physical hurt I would arrange
for an ambulance to take you to
the Hospital.
TANJA
And if it were any other kind of
hurt, you could help?
DR. MATIC
I could try, that is my job.
TANJA
Do you like your job?
DR. MATIC
Yes. I like to help people. How
can I help you.
Tanja looks at the dark window.
TANJA
Do you always work at night?
DR. MATIC
Mostly, but not always.
A brief pause...
TANJA
Well it be day soon?
Doctor Matic looks at his watch.
DR. MATIC
In two hours, the sun will rise.
Tanja snaps TANJA
No it won't!
Tanja's answer raises a red flag for the Doctor as evident
from his expression.
DR. MATIC
Why do you say that?

TANJA
But if you can't, is it still a
dream?
The Doctor leans back in his chair, takes off his glasses
and wipes them.
DR. MATIC
... No.
TANJA
Than what is it?
DR. MATIC
I don't know.
TANJA
Could it be death?
The Doctor locks eyes with Tanja before putting his glasses
back on.
DR. MATIC
No, but it could be a coma.
TANJA
So what are you doing in-my-coma,
Doctor?
DR. MATIC
You could be hearing my voice
while you are in a coma.
TANJA
Are you hearing my voice?
DR. MATIC
Yes.
TANJA
How is it possible for you to
hear my voice?
DR. MATIC
It's not.
Tanja, completely comfortable now, takes her jacket off.
TANJA
Then I'm not in a coma.

Not at first. He was just another
victory for her. But after the
birth of their child, a boy, she
changed. I could see it in her
eyes, she actually loved him too.
Something I thought she could
never do.
CUT TO:
Sergej lights a cigarette, takes a few drags and then gets
out of bed with cigarette in hand and begins to dress.
TANJA
Smoking could kill you.
SERGEJ
My dear crossing the street could
kill me.
With trousers and an undershirt on Sergej goes over to Tanja
by the window, gives her a gentle kiss on the neck, and then
slips his shirt off of her revealing her nude body.
He puts his dress shirt on and studies himself in the mirror
while we catch a glimpse in the same mirror of Tanja dressing
in the background.
TANJA
When will I see you again?
SERGEJ
I have a meeting in this hotel
Friday. I will come up to see you
after that.
TANJA
Let's go somewhere Sergej!
Somewhere different. Maybe
Montenegro, Greece or Turkey.
We're always in this hotel.
SERGEJ
We talked about this darling. I
cannot just leave Belgrade
unexplained.

SVETLANA
What are you still doing here?
Tanja does not reply.
SVETLANA
Did you think I wouldn't find out
about this room?
Again, Tanja says nothing.
Svetlana looks at her with icy cold eyes.
SVETLANA
Aren't you going to say anything!?
TANJA
What do you want me to say Svetlana?
Svetlana eyes the silver diamond studded necklace around
Tanja's neck.
SVETLANA
Nice necklace. I have one just
like that. Sergej had a lot of
balls to buy both of us the same
necklace.
Svetlana sees the newspaper on the coffee table.
She continues to hover around Tanja for a moment then takes
a seat on the sofa.
There is a long and awkward silence...
SVETLANA
He never loved you. He fucked you,
but he couldn't love you.
Svetlana lights a cigarette while Tanja searches for the
strength to engage in this discussion.
TANJA
Don't blame me because you
couldn't satisfy him!
6 Days Dark
[32]
SVETLANA
If that were true bitch, then you
didn't satisfy him either, because
he's got another whore just like
you. Did you think, you and I
were the only ones?
TANJA
I don't believe that.
SVETLANA
While he was inside you, did he
promise he would leave me!?
Tanja is disgusted by the question.
Svetlana laughs out loud, almost in a melody.
SVETLANA
You think you were special?
TANJA
You have every right to be angry
but it's not my fault you lost his
love.
SVETLANA
He didn't love anyone bitch!
Except our son, who now because
of you doesn't have a father.
TANJA
That's not fair.
Svetlana is increasingly angry, a fury burns in her eyes.
She eyes a letter opener buried under the newspaper and
reaches for it.
SVETLANA
Do you think I'm just going to
let this go!?
Svetlana examines the sharpness of the letter opener. Not
terribly sharp but the tip of the opener is sharp enough.
TANJA
What's the point. It won't bring
Sergej back.
Tanja notices Svetlana's interest in the letter opener.
6 Days Dark
[33]
SVETLANA
I was going to pay someone to
kill you but that wouldn't be
satisfying enough.
TANJA
So now you're going to personally
kill me? And with a letter opener,
because your husband didn't love
you?
Svetlana eyes Tanja with an icy cold glare.
SVETLANA
No.
TANJA
Do you think I am hurting any
less than you?
SVETLANA
Not even close!
TANJA
I loved him too.
Svetlana tests the sharpness of the letter opener on her
thumb. The tip of the letter opener penetrates the skin and
a thick bubble of blood emerges from the cut, she pays no
mind to the now thin flow of blood dripping from her thumb.
SVETLANA
You forget who we are and where
we came from.
TANJA
You going to curse me, is that it?
Svetlana gets up from the sofa with bleeding thumb and letter
opener in hand, she has a bright smile on her face.
SVETLANA
As a matter fact, yes!
Tanja eyes the bleeding thumb.
TANJA
Go away Svetlana.
Svetlana angrily snaps.
6 Days Dark
[34]
SVETLANA
Go away!? You're staying in a
hotel room my husband is paying
for. And now, I am paying for!
And you're telling me to go away!
TANJA
Fine, then I'll go!
Tanja begins to gather her belongings, while Svetlana eyes a
large hairbrush by the vanity mirror.
SVETLANA
Yes you will, straight to hell!
Svetlana goes to the vanity mirror and takes the hairbrush.
Tanja locks eyes with Svetlana from across the room.
TANJA
You're serious!?
SVETLANA
Remember the curse mother told us
about, the one that drove the
Nazi's mad. And turned them
against each other.
TANJA
It's a Jewish fairy tale Svetlana.
SVETLANA
A fairy tale would imply a happy
ending. This curse does not have
a happy ending little sister.
Svetlana puts the hairbrush down, and places a single strand
of hair onto her left palm, then hovers her bleeding thumb
over the strand of hair allowing several droplets of blood
to soak it.
TANJA
So now you're a gypsy?
SVETLANA
I've always been a gypsy. And so
have you!
Tanja snaps angrily -
6 Days Dark
[35]
TANJA
No Gypsy without good cause may
harm another Gypsy by means of
curse. To do so will result in
facing the Kris and expulsion
from the Gypsy nation. Do you
remember that law?
SVETLANA
Fucking my husband is good cause!
TANJA
You're not well Svetlana.
Svetlana presses her palms together in a prayer like way.
The blood and strand of hair in between her palms.
And then She closes her eyes tightly as she recites a curse.
SVETLANA
I summon the dark lord, keeper of
the six days dark curse to come
forth and do my bidding fore a
terrible wrong has been done to
me. With this strand of hair mixed
with my spilled blood I name thy
enemy, and beg of the dark lord
to release his darkness on thy
enemy,.. And cause them terror
for six days, and six nights,
cause their soul to grow darker
and darker until it is no more
and they are no longer.
Svetlana opens her eyes, they are darker than normal, almost
black, and lifeless.
She locks eyes with Tanja.
TANJA
What's wrong with you Svetlana!?
Tanja's demeanor turns to concern and we can tell she wants
to reach out to her sister and comfort her but it's clear
Svetlana will have nothing to do with it.
SVETLANA
You are doomed!

IVANA
You have more important things to
worry about, like what are you
going to do for money?
Tanja rolls her eyes at such a mundane thought.
TANJA
You're the closest I have to
family now. Except for two aunts -Tanja searches through her purse for something while Ivana
eyes Tanja's necklace.
IVANA
You can sell the necklace. It's
probably worth over a thousand
Euros.
Tanja finds what she is searching for, a photograph.
She flips the photograph over on the other side and studies
some writing on it. She didn't even hear Ivana's suggestion
to sell the necklace.
IVANA
Did you hear me!?
Tanja breaks her attention from the photo and looks at Ivana.
TANJA
What?
IVANA
You didn't hear what I said.
TANJA
I'm sorry.
Tanja hands Ivana the photo.
TANJA
This is my grandmother with my
mother and my two aunts at their
old farmhouse.
Ivana looks at it briefly...
IVANA
Where is this place?
6 Days Dark
[38]
TANJA
There's an address on the back.
Ivana flips the photo around.
IVANA
You thinking of going there? This
is near Bosnia!
TANJA
What other choice do I have? My
only other family is in Canada
and I can't get there, not right
now anyway.
IVANA
When was the last time you saw
this aunt?
TANJA
... Never.
IVANA
This is not a good Idea. How do
you know she even lives there any
more.
TANJA
She probably does.
Ivana is not convinced.
IVANA
Why don't you stay with us for a
little while. I'm sure Zoran won't
mind.
TANJA
No, this is the only place I can
go to right now.
A brief silence....
IVANA
Alright but I'm coming there in a
few days to see how you're doing
and to bring you some money.
Tanja hugs Ivana.
6 Days Dark
[39]
TANJA
Thank you.
IVANA
For what?
Ivana gives Tanja the photo back.
TANJA
For being a friend.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did you sell the necklace?
TANJA (V.O.)
No. I had some money, not much. I
Took a train and went to my aunt's
village.

You're standing behind me, that's

Tanja begins to unravel,.. It is getting to be all too much

TANJA

DR. MATIC

TANJA
Yes!
A long pause...
DR. MATIC
Look away from her Tanja. Look
away from her and she'll be gone.
Tanja turns her head away slowly from both the doctor and
Dark Tanja. And looks blankly at bare white walls.
DR. MATIC (O.S.)
I promise you Tanja she is gone
now. Look back now and you will
see that she's no longer here.
Tanja slowly turns her head towards the Doctor and just as
he said her dark (Tanja) side is no longer behind him with
axe in hand. She is gone.
TANJA
She's gone.
DR. MATIC
Can I turn around and also see?
Tanja tearfully nods her head "yes". And the Doctor turns
around to find nothing but empty space behind him.
TANJA
... Thank you.
Doctor Matic gives Tanja a moment to recompose herself while
he makes some notes.
A few seconds later...
6 Days Dark

TANJA
Is there a washroom I can use?
DR. MATIC
Yes there is. Do you want me to

TANJA
No I'll find it myself.

IVANA
Who are you talking about? Look

Ivana's eyes scan the dungeon. There are only two possible
ways out and both look formidable to get through, the iron
bar window about six feet from the ground, and the huge iron
gate in front of them.
TANJA (V.O.)
She wasn't in the dungeon two
minutes and already she was
working on a way to get out. If
only I had her strength.
Ivana chooses to examine the barred window first. She twists
and tugs and pulls at the bars until the ancient plaster
around the base of the bars begins to crumble.
Tanja looks on with determined hope.
It does not take long before one of the iron bars comes lose,
sensing success in jarring the bar away from its foundation
Ivana looks back at Tanya and IVANA

She mumbles to herself in a soft whisper TANJA
My clothes? How did they get here?
She glances at her jeans and slowly runs her hand across her
pant leg as if to convince herself that they too are real.
And then She sees her jacket buried under some shirts and skirts and
digs it out and looks it over carefully, then slips her hand
inside one of the pockets and as evident from her expression
she is surprised to find something inside the pocket, she
withdraws her hand from the pocket revealing the diamond
studded necklace Sergej had bought, memories of Sergej somber
her and she puts the necklace back in the pocket and goes
back to the table and takes a seat again with jacket in hand.
She lights another cigarette and only now notices the Gold
Zippo in her hand, the same Zippo that Stefan used to light

We can tell that she is wondering to herself how has she
come into possession of the Zippo and how did all her clothes
get here.

Who is your aunt, maybe I know her?
TANJA
Sara.
Marko considers the name.
MARKO
Hmmm, no I can't say I know her.
Strange though I know mostly
everyone in town the villages
around here.
6 Days Dark
[69]
TANJA
Her farm is pretty high in the
hills, dont know if she comes to
town much.
MARKO
So you live alone up there. With
your aunt, of course?
Tanja becomes uncomfortable with the discussion. Her senses
tell her to be weary of Marko.
She attempts to change the subject.
TANJA
What should I do first!?
Marko Grins, again. This man's grin is really ugly and does
not benefit his overall look.
MARKO
Hmmm, let me see now.
Marko undresses Tanja with his eyes.
Tanja realizes what Marko might have in mind and puts on her
bravest face and keeps a strong front.
TANJA
I am not interested in that!
Marko snaps.
MARKO
Then pay for your dinner! It's
two thousand Dinars.
TANJA
That's ridiculous!
MARKO
That's the price! Are you refusing
to pay your bill?
6 Days Dark
[70]
TANJA
You said you would deduct the
cost of dinner from my pay.
MARKO
How can I deduct it when you won't
work.
TANJA
I am not a prostitute!
MARKO
Yes you are!
Marko unbuckles his belt.
Tanja takes a step back from him.
TANJA
You are making a mistake!
Marko takes a step closer to Tanja while fondling himself.
MARKO
Are you going to work off your
meal or am I going to call the
police?
Tanja takes the offensive and steps into Marko face-to-face.
TANJA
Let's call the police! I am sure
they will find the prices in your
menu quite interesting and
especially your payment options!
Marko considers her response for a long moment... all while
maintaining piercing eye contact.
MARKO
Pay me!
Tanja turns away from Marko to leave. He grabs her hair
pulling her back. She loses her footing, he wraps his arm
around her neck.
She struggles to break free, but it's no use, Marko is too
strong for her.
6 Days Dark
[71]
He leans her over the cutting table, she elbows him in the
chest, but to no effect.
She attempts to elbow him again, but Marko blocks the strike,
and takes firm hold of her arm.
Tanja eyes a knife on the cutting table some distance away
and desperately reaches for it with her free arm but it's no
use, it's too far away.
Marko releases his coke hold on her and once again grabs her
by the hair, then smashes her face into the cutting table.
Her knees buckle and she drops limp to the ground face first.
She is unconscious.
Marko stares at his prize on the ground, he seems satisfied
with himself. And then he bends down to the ground and flips
her limp body over, she is on her back now.
Her face swollen from meeting the table with such force.
Marko works the button on Tanja's jeans and gets it loose,
then pulls the jeans off, followed by her underwear.
Tanja appears to be coming to, her eyes flicker, she is
disoriented.
Marko glances at her face with a perverted grin and mounts
on top of her pinning her body under his weight, his knees
pressing down on her arms rendering her absolutely defenseless.
He then starts to unbutton her shirt, spreading the shirt
apart. He tours his index finger around the outline of her bra.
Tanja is fully conscious now. It pleases Marko as evident by
his expression. He lowers his face head down to her face to
kiss her lips, she tightens her lips in resistance. He forces
his lips on hers.
Suddenly the color from Tanja's face is drained. She looks
deathly pale, black blood vessels begin to appear under her
eyes, on her cheeks, and around her mouth, this startles
Marko, he pulls away quickly, sitting upright on her now,
looking down on her face in disbelief.

Tanja takes his hand and Vigo pulls her up to the table and then takes his seat again.
Aleksandra is sitting across from Tanja.
ALEKSANDRA
It seems you had a nasty spill
sweetie.
Tanja, still numb from shock does not reply.
MAJOR VIGO
(To Tanja)
We have a proposition for you.
Tanja continues to remain silent.
MAJOR VIGO
You have gathered by now that we
are different. We have special
needs. And you can service those
needs for us, not indefinitely,
but shall we say for,... a few
months! And in exchange we will
spare your life. You will be free
to leave, and never see us again.
DARK TANJA
What is it that you want me to do?
MAJOR VIGO
Just a little shopping.
DARK TANJA
Shopping?
ALEKSANDRA
Bring us young women like you.
Attractive women who have been
forgotten and who will not create
a big fuss if they disappear.
DARK TANJA
No,.. no I won't!
MAJOR VIGO
Perhaps you should sleep on it
before deciding, hmmm?
6 Days Dark
[76]
ALEKSANDRA
Vigo darling I told you she
wouldn't agree. Why must you tease
me another night, let's just have
her now!
MAJOR VIGO
Patience Aleksandra, patience.
Vigo reaches for a small brass dinner bell and gives it a
couple of rings.
Aleksandra rolls her eyes in disappointment.
Tanja not sure what to expect next inhales deeply holding
her breath.
Seconds later...
HOFFMAN (43 years old) enters our frame, a large stocky man
with a slanted neck, he comes before Vigo, without saying a
word.
MAJOR VIGO
Would you please see our guest to
the dungeon. And Hoffman,.. Do be
gentle with this one.
Hoffman nods and goes to Tanja and gestures to her to get up.
She gets up and he grabs her arm holding her firmly as he
escorts her out of the Dining room.
Vigo Laughs...
MAJOR VIGO (O.S.)
Gently Hoffman.
Hoffman and Tanja leave the dining room.
ALEKSANDRA
Vigo, why do you do this all the
time?
MAJOR VIGO
... Do what darling?

But her Aunt is not alive and in fact she is dead as evident
from her Zombie like trance and lifeless eyes, her face is
without blood circulation, pale, dead.
Her Aunt is a walking zombie.
Tanja passes by her without a care as if she has seen this
before many of times.
Next Tanja encounters Major Vigo, Olga, Stefan, and the Mutilated
Young Lady we first encountered in the park on the bench.
All of them look like her Aunt, walking dead Zombies. And as
with her Aunt Tanja simply goes around them without a care,
some of the Zombies extend their arms in an attempt to touch
Tanja but she ducks or maneuvers around them so not to make
contact.
Tanja is intent on finding someone alive in this dark and
eerie hospital but her search comes up empty. There is no
one here, just the walking dead behind her.
Frustrated and now angry she snaps away from the reception
window.
And then Tanja disappears down the stairs towards the exit.

And before the nurse could say a word Dark Tanja wields the
axe at her driving it into her chest pinning her to the
filing cabinets, blood seeps and squirts wildly.
Dark Tanja waste no time admiring her gruesome work. She
pulls the axe out of nurses chest, and as the nurse falls to
the ground dead we see that in fact she is Aleksandra dressed
like a nurse and not the attractive blond nurse.
Dark Tanja then proceeds to look for the good Doctor...

TANJA
But then how shall I kill you
Doctor?
DR. MATIC
Why would you want to kill me,
Tanja.
TANJA
Because you are a liar!
DR. MATIC
What did I lie about?
TANJA
You said you were going to monitor
my sleep! You said there would be
sunrise when I wake up!!!
DR. MATIC
And indeed I did monitor your
sleep right up to an hour ago.
And their shall be sunrise-The Doctor, more visibly nervous now, glances at his watch.
DR. MATIC
It's only quarter past six Tanja!
The sun shall rise in twenty
minutes!
TANJA
Hamm, but you will be dead by then.
We can tell the Doctor is having second thoughts about
continuing to talk Tanja down, especially now as he is still
standing in one spot while Tanja is taking measured steps
towards him coming closer... and closer to him as they talk.
DR. MATIC
But then there will be no one to
see the sunrise with you.
TANJA
That's not true Doctor, see you're
lying again.
DR. MATIC
You didn't kill anyone else than?
6 Days Dark
[81]
TANJA
I killed!
DR. MATIC
And if you kill me then who will
see the sunrise with you?
Pause...
TANJA
The other Tanja. She will. We
dont need you. We Dont want you!!!
By now Tanja has closed the distance between her and the
Doctor by half.
DR. MATIC
Tanja! I insist you drop that axe,
right now!
TANJA
You insist nothing Doctor!
And with that, Dark Tanja charges the Doctor.
The Doctor bolts down the other hall and into the office
where he first interviewed Tanja.

SVETLANA
She's not here. You going to shoot
me with my son in the house asleep?
TANJA
He's not in the house. On the
weekends he goes to the Equestrian
camp. Who do you think suggested
that camp to Sergej?
Svetlana's eyes burn in anger.
TANJA
You thought it was Sergej's idea?
SVETLANA
I married Sergej didn't I?
TANJA
And then you lost him to me.
Svetlana smiles.
SVETLANA
Am I suppose to lose it now and
attack you so that you can shoot
and kill me?
TANJA
No, not quite. You're suppose to
take this fucking curse off of me
first and then we'll see about
shooting you.
Svetlana laughs out loudly.
SVETLANA
And why would I do that!?
TANJA
Because if you don't I'm going to
shoot you many times, without
killing you. You'll be in terrible
pain, and we both know what your
tolerance for pain is. You're
going to bleed and cry until
mother comes home, and then I'll
shoot her too.
6 Days Dark
[86]
SVETLANA
Why would you hurt mother?
TANJA
Oh I won't hurt her. I'm going to
kill her.
SVETLANA
The curse. It's not suppose to
work like that.
TANJA
It seems you fucked the curse up
but that's because you probably
didn't follow mother's instructions
carefully.
SVETLANA
Mother had nothing to do with this!
Tanja snaps angrily.
TANJA
Mother had everything to do with
this! You're too stupid to do
this alone!
Svetlana becomes increasingly nervous as she realizes Tanja
is at a breaking point and capable of shooting her any minute.
SVETLANA
You stole my husband.
TANJA
We were seeing each other long
before he met you. And then you
convinced him to marry you, or
did mother have a hand in that
too and curse him to marry you?
SVETLANA
I don't know how to take the curse
off.
TANJA
So you never intended to take it
off. Was I suppose to kill myself,
is that it?
Svetlana does not answer.

OLGA
He is dead because of another
woman! One who apparently also
had a less than forgiving spouse.
SVETLANA
What are you talking about Mother?
OLGA
He was carrying on with another
young woman. You were right to
suspect him. I followed the toad
one day, and saw with my own eyes.
I think her mobster husband
arranged for Sergej to take a nap
in his car while parked on the
train track.
SVETLANA
Why didn't you tell me?
Tanja cuts in TANJA
Who is this other woman?
OLGA
(To Svetlana)
Why!? Are you going to shoot her
too!
Olga then snaps her head to Svetlana.
OLGA
Or maybe you can curse her first.
And then Tanja can shoot her!?
Look at you girls! You have both
gone mad! And over what! A
cheating toad!
Olga turns to Tanja.
OLGA
You are threatening to kill your
sister over this!?
TANJA
She cursed me!
6 Days Dark
[90]
OLGA
Rubbish! She doesn't know how.
SVETLANA
I used the six days dark curse!
Olga looks at Svetlana with utter contempt.
OLGA
You what!?
SVETLANA
It works.
OLGA
You have no idea how dangerous
that curse is!
Olga turns to Tanja.
OLGA
Put away that gun this instant!
Tanja slowly lowers the gun and places it on the coffee table.
TANJA
Turn off the curse Mother.
OLGA
It is not something you can just
turn off!
Olga looks more concerned now then she was while Tanja was
waving the gun around.
SVETLANA
Every curse can be reversed.
A pause...
OLGA
I must make a special tea.
Olga gets up and leaves the living room.
Tanja and Svetlana look at each other awkwardly.
6 Days Dark
[91]
TANJA
I tried to jump off a bridge. Met
a sadistic couple who apparently
don't age and turn into monsters
who eat people. Almost got raped,
and I might be an escaped mental
patient serial killer.
SVETLANA
The curse won't let you kill anyone.
TANJA
Everyone I met in the past six
days is dead.
SVETLANA
Six days? We haven't seen or heard
from you in six months.
Tanja locks eyes with Svetlana.
TANJA
It's been six days since Sergej died.
SVETLANA
Where have you been all this time?
TANJA
You better hope this curse is
reversible!
Svetlana does not respond and the two of them remain quite
for an awkward moment.
And then TANJA
I loved -Tanja stops before finishing her sentence.
Svetlana raises an eyebrow.
SVETLANA
The toad?
A brief pause...
6 Days Dark
[92]
TANJA
He was a toad, wasn't he?
Svetlana nods her head yes.
TANJA
We were going to kill each other.
A tear rolls down Svetlana's cheek. This is the first time
we see the human side of Svetlana.
Olga returns to the living room with a single cup of black
tar like tea.
She shoves the gun out of the way and places the tea in
front of Tanja, and then takes a seat on the third sofa
between the women.
OLGA
Drink it all at once. All of it!
Tanja takes the cup and drinks it all in one swig while Olga
and Svetlana look on.
TANJA
Now what?
OLGA
We wait.
TANJA
How long?
OLGA
... I don't know. I have never
used this curse.
TANJA
How do we know the tea works!?
OLGA
It works! You just have to wait.
SVETLANA
Mother, there is something wrong
with it. It's not suppose to allow
the cursed to hurt anyone.
6 Days Dark
[93]
OLGA
Tanja has not hurt anyone.
Svetlana points to the gun on the coffee table with her eyes.
OLGA
(To Tanja)
Where did you get the gun?
TANJA
At an old castle near Aunt Sara's
village.
Olga closes her eyes to recompose herself, that was obviously
not the answer she wanted to hear.
OLGA
Did you go to Sara's farm?
Tanja nods her head yes.
TANJA
And she was dead, murdered.
OLGA
Yes, for almost five years now.
But not murdered, she died in her
sleep, in the most peaceful
possible way. The curse has
blocked that from your memory and
gave you an alternative reality.
TANJA
Well that's one less person I
killed.
OLGA
You didn't kill anyone Tanja. And
that castle has been abandon since
world war two. It should have
been torn down years ago, its has
an evil past.

in my dreams.

SVETLANA
Not unless you found a way to
suck me into your dream.
And with that Svetlana looks over to her Mother.
SVETLANA
Is that possible. Could this be
Tanja's dream?
OLGA
Don't be ridiculous.
TANJA
Why is it ridiculous Mother? On
my way here I fell asleep in the
taxi and dreamed I killed the
Doctor who was trying to help me,
and during all the time I spent
with him he didn't seem any less
real to me then you and Svetlana
are. Honestly, right now I don't
know if he even existed, if that
hospital existed, or if any of
this right here, right now, is real.
OLGA
That wasn't real, but this is.
TANJA
Mother, who is Vigo and Aleksandra?
Olga stops and looks as if she is being silently suffocated.
OLGA
You know their names?
6 Days Dark
[97]
TANJA
I met them.
Svetlana interrupts.
SVETLANA
Who the fuck is Vigo and Aleksandra?
Both Tanja and Olga disregard Svetlana's question.
TANJA
Why can't you say their names
mother?
OLGA
Was there a tarot card reader at
Sara's farm?
TANJA
Yes, she looked like you.
OLGA
She came to warn you.
TANJA
She didn't make any sense.
OLGA
That was your great grandmother.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
Our great grandmother looks like
you?
OLGA
I don't know, there are no photos
of her. But if she warned Tanja,..
then Tanja was in real danger.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
Why didn't you tell us about this
Vigo and Aleksandra?
OLGA
Because they cause nightmares.
6 Days Dark
[98]
TANJA
Why are they in the curse?
OLGA
You must have learned about them
somehow before your sister cursed
you.
TANJA
Mother I found the gun in the
castle along with a lot of dead
people. And I never heard this
freak's name before he introduced
himself to me.
Olga sinks into concerned thought,..
TANJA (O.S.)
How will I know if the tea worked?
No answer from Olga, she is still lost in thought.
Tanja snaps at Olga.
TANJA (O.S.)
Mother!
Olga breaks out of thought and looks at Tanja.
OLGA
It will work, it needs time.
Olga then looks at Svetlana and OLGA
What did you use?
SVETLANA
A strand of her hair.
OLGA
Did you speak the curse correctly.
SVETLANA
Yes. I practiced it a thousand
times the night before and
memorized it.
6 Days Dark
[99]
OLGA
... Something went wrong.
SVETLANA
I know I told you. She's not
suppose to be homicidal!
TANJA
How can a curse go wrong? I
thought they either worked or
didn't.
OLGA
This is no ordinary curse.
Tanja looks across the room at a mirror TANJA
There's something else. When I
look in a mirror I see another
woman. And I dream her as if she
was me.
We cannot see the reflection in the mirror because of the
angle of our point-of-view but we can tell that Tanja can
see the reflection clearly.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
There's nothing about that in the
curse mother.
OLGA
The curse was used only once by
your great grandmother, she died
before explaining it properly. No
one really knows how it works.
Except that its designed to drive
you mad, to make you see things
that aren't there, and make you
believe something is real when
it's not. Mostly you're dreaming
and when you're awake those dreams
become memories of things you
think happened but really didn't.
Tanja looks at the mirror again as if being drawn to look at
it by an invisible force.
6 Days Dark
[100]
TANJA
If I were to kill you and Svetlana
now and all this is not real then
the two of you will still be alive
tomorrow.
Tanja shifts her attention from the mirror to the gun and Reaches for the gun, picks it up, and points it at Olga.
OLGA
Tanja! The gun is real, so are we!
TANJA
If the Gun is real, then so is
everything that happened to me.
Tanja shifts her focus to Svetlana and now points the gun at
her.
SVETLANA
Mother!
OLGA
Give me the gun Tanja!
TANJA
I'll see you tomorrow sis.
BANG, BANG,..
TANJA
... Or in hell.
She shoots Svetlana in the throat, and neck. Svetlana slumps
over dead.
Olga SCREAMS...
Tanja returns her focus to Olga and without hesitation,
BANG... And silences her scream with a single shot to the
forehead.
Tanja looks over now dead Olga and Svetlana.
6 Days Dark
[101]
TANJA
Hmmm, you guys look pretty dead
to me. Guess we'll see if you
stay that way.
Tanja then gets up calmly as though nothing had happened,
and makes her way to the mirror, we follow behind her.
She looks at herself in the mirror and this time we too can
see the reflection clearly.
In the mirror we see Dark Tanja.
FADE OUT.
