6 Days Dark

[2]

FADE IN:
1

THE LEGEND OF 6 DAYS DARK It was said in ancient Israel that insanity was a result of
a disturbance of the mind caused by supernatural forces or
an angry God, as a punishment for sins or failure to follow
the commandments.
Six days of darkness, six days of night, where the sunrise
does not come. Each day, darker than the day before. Each
day, your soul is darker, until it is no more. And on the
sixth day, your very existence will no longer be.
FADE OUT.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - TANJA'S ROOM - NIGHT

TANJA (27 years old) awakes from sleep, restless and unable
to continue to sleep she gets out of bed and goes to the
moonlit window.
We are now inside Tanja's head, inside her world.
We hear faint WHISPERS fill the room and then a more
distinctive WHISPER calling out her name, but Tanja pays no
mind to the whispers.
She returns to bed and this time manages to fall asleep.
CUT TO:
DREAM (1) IN SEPIA TONE BEGINS:

EXT. MALI-ZVORNIK TOWN - BRIDGE - NIGHT

A long and old bridge overlooking a fast moving river with
steep banks on both sides of the river.
DARK TANJA (27 years old) stands stoned faced in the middle
of the bridge.

6 Days Dark

[3]

She looks down into the darkness at the gurgling rapid moving
river.
The drop must be over one hundred feet, if the fall does not
kill her, the river certainly will.
A thin early evening fog hovers in and around the bridge and
the river's banks.
Dark Tanja takes a deep breath in anticipation of going over
the four foot guardrail and into the river, she is intent in
ending her life...
ALEKSANDRA (O.S.)
Can I say something?
Startled, and interrupted,.. Dark Tanja turns around and
sees ALEKSANDRA (38 years old) lighting a cigarette.
DARK TANJA
What!?
ALEKSANDRA
Considering your physique, you
will probably survive the drop
into the river, then the current
will take you, pulling you under
every few seconds, not enough to
drown you, not right away. By the
time you reach the second bridge
a couple of kilometers down river
some idiot would-be savior will
no doubt dive in to try to save
you. He will drown, just like you
will. There are more efficient
ways of killing yourself dear.
Dark Tanja is stunned.
DARK TANJA
... Like how!?
We can tell by the expression on Dark Tanja's face that she
cannot believe she just asked that.

6 Days Dark

[4]

ALEKSANDRA
You can try stepping in front of
a bus? But that could take some
time if you don't have a bus
schedule. Or you could cut your
wrists, if you don't mind all the
blood that comes with that.
ALEKSANDRA
Then there's always hanging, if
you know how to make a noose.
DARK TANJA
Are you crazy!?
Wide-eyed and excited Aleksandra responds ALEKSANDRA
Yes! Are you?
Not sure how to reply to that Dark Tanja simply answers DARK TANJA
I must be.
Aleksandra steps closer to Dark Tanja.
ALEKSANDRA
I'm Aleksandra!
Dark Tanja faintly replies DARK TANJA
... Tanja.
Aleksandra gives Dark Tanja a close look-over.
ALEKSANDRA
How long have you been on this
bridge Tanja?
DARK TANJA
Don't know, maybe four or five
hours.
ALEKSANDRA
That's a long time to decide
whether to go over or not.
Dark Tanja does not answer.

6 Days Dark

[5]

ALEKSANDRA
Why don't you come with me. I
live just over the hill. We'll
have a few drinks, and then if
you're still up to it we'll find
a better way for you to kill
yourself.
Dark Tanja is taken aback by Aleksandra's dark charisma.
DARK TANJA
You are crazy!
ALEKSANDRA
Absolutely!.. So what do you say,
you coming?
Dark Tanja considers the strange proposition for a long
moment...
And then DARK TANJA
Okay.
Aleksandra extends her hand to Dark Tanja and pulls her away
from the guardrail.
ALEKSANDRA
It's a little bit of a walk from
here, but that might help clear
your head.
Aleksandra begins to walk... And Dark Tanja follows.

EXT. VIGO'S CASTLE - ESTABLISHING SHOT - NIGHT

The Castle is in shambles and nestled in wild grass. We can
tell that this was once a proud Castle but years of neglect
have reduced it to its sorry state.
CUT TO:

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - FRONT ENTRANCE - NIGHT

Aleksandra leads Dark Tanja into the Castle.

6 Days Dark

[6]

The interior is mostly bare, dimly lit by torch fire and

drab looking. The only color present is the medieval
colorings on the sixty foot high ceilings and the trim on
the huge pillars holding the ceiling up. Everything else is
gray and more gray.
MAJOR VIGO (37 years old) enters our frame.
Aleksandra immediately introduces him to Dark Tanja.
ALEKSANDRA
Tanja, this is my husband Vigo.
Vigo locks eyes with Dark Tanja and offers his hand.
MAJOR VIGO
The pleasure is mine. I am sure.
Tanja takes his hand.
DARK TANJA
Nice to meet you.
Aleksandra wraps her arms around Vigo's waist and gives him
a kiss.
We have a look around the Gothic Castle from Dark Tanja's
Point-of-view.
INSERT: Various shots of the Castle's high ceilings, pillars,
grand staircase, and the medieval art on the baron walls.
ALEKSANDRA
Tanja has been having a bad day.
And a bad week I think.
MAJOR VIGO
I'm sure things will change.
[CLOSE UP]
Aleksandra's eyes communicate with Vigo in a language only
they can understand while Dark Tanja continues to scan her
eerie surroundings.
ALEKSANDRA
Speaking of change. Tanja do you
want to change into something
more comfortable? I am sure we
can find something for you upstairs.

6 Days Dark

[7]

DARK TANJA
Oh no, really I don't want to be
any trouble.
Aleksandra takes Dark Tanja's hand and whisks her away while ALEKSANDRA
Nonsense! Come with me.
Vigo demonically watches on...

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - MASTER BEDROOM - NIGHT

The bedroom is as dull as the other rooms But it boast an
impressive high King Size bed complete with velvet canopies.
And other than a couple of large dressers, the bedroom is
mostly bare. But perhaps what is most strange is that the
room has no mirrors.
Aleksandra leads Dark Tanja to the dressing room where racks
upon racks of clothing hang, more clothing than any average
woman would have, but it's pretty clear by now that there is
nothing average about Aleksandra or for that matter her
husband Vigo.
The dresser has no mirrors either.
Below the racks are several levels of shelves housing at
least a couple of dozen pairs of shoes, boots and sneakers.
ALEKSANDRA
There must be something here that
will work for you dear. I'll leave
you to it while I go check on
dinner. Come down and join us
when you are ready.
Dark Tanja smiles softly and nods her head.
Aleksandra leaves,.. And Dark Tanja looks over the selections.
She does not know where to begin. So much variety. And so
many different sizes. It's all very odd.
Dark Tanja checks the various sizes on the labels. We have
to wonder why would there be so many different sizes, clearly
some of these clothes do not fit Aleksandra.

6 Days Dark

[8]

And the footwear, they too are in various sizes.

An uneasy feeling overcomes Dark Tanja. Something is not
right here.
We can tell her mind is racing with various thoughts and
that every bone in her body is telling her to run now!
CUT TO:
7

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Vigo is by the beverage cart preparing a drink for himself.
Alexander enters the dining room. Apparently she too has
changed, into a light silk blouse, pants and long robe.
MAJOR VIGO
I have something special for you
my love.
ALEKSANDRA
Oh really!?
MAJOR VIGO
Yes, just-for-you!
Aleksandra leans into Vigo and he grabs hold of her, she
then kisses his neck.
ALEKSANDRA
... I suppose we have a few
moments before our guest picks
something out and joins us.
Vigo takes Aleksandra's hand and leads her out of the dining
room.
CUT TO:

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - HALLWAY - NIGHT

Dark Tanja, now wearing a white long evening dress makes her
way through the hallways cautiously exploring her surroundings.
She enters through a French door void of its glass panels
and into another hall lit by torch fire.

6 Days Dark

[9]

The CRACKLING of the fiery torches emanates throughout the

hall.
CUT TO:
9

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - SITTING ROOM - NIGHT

Dark Tanja comes to a curtain drawn sitting room lit by
candle light.
She peeks inside to discover two young beautiful women nearly
naked on a couch engaged in playful sexual foreplay, kissing
and sensually caressing each other.

We see Aleksandra and Vigo coming towards the sitting room
from another hall and CUT TO:

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - SITTING ROOM - NIGHT

Dark Tanja hears them coming, she turns her attention away
from the sitting room and quickly walks away.
CUT TO:
The curtains in the sitting room open again, but this time
revealing Aleksandra and Vigo looking inside.
Alexandra joins the women and the trio caress each other
passionately while Vigo continues to look on.
Aleksandra reaches for a mid-evil dagger sitting on a night
table beside the couch and runs the tip of the dagger gently
down the cheek of one of the women. She then guides the
dagger down the woman's neck taking care not to apply too
much pressure so not to cut the skin. The dagger then travels
down to the woman's chest, her cleavage and then makes an
abrupt left turn and travels over to her left shoulder where
it slips under the strap holding up her sultry lingerie which
now dangles on one strap. The dagger then travels again,
across the chest, past the cleavage and over to the right
shoulder where it cuts off the other strap causing the
lingerie to slip down to the woman's waist exposing her well
shaped breasts.
The other woman works on Aleksandra's robe, silk blouse and -

6 Days Dark

[10]

Pants, removing all of them swiftly and with ease.

Aleksandra turns the dagger on the other woman now and like
with the first woman cuts the straps off of her lingerie but
this time without dagger foreplay.
Now all three women are naked, absolutely naked. The passion
between them intensifies.
Vigo continues to watch...
And then Without suggestion or warning Aleksandra drives
deep into one of the woman's chest and pulls it
while a steady stream of blood flows out of the
the woman's mouth. Aleksandra moves her victims
body to the side.

The other woman does not react to the murderous attack and
continues to sensually caress Aleksandra.
Vigo has seen enough, he slowly pulls away from the curtain.
CUT TO:
The erotic foreplay between Aleksandra and the remaining
woman continues...
And then suddenly Aleksandra launches into a frenzy and
plunges the dagger repeatedly into the woman's neck causing
blood to spray profusely. The woman drops face first into
Aleksandra's lap. Her body convulses violently while it
clings to the last few seconds of life.
Aleksandra's nude body is covered in blood, she puts the
blade to her mouth and licks the blood...
CUT TO:
12

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - HALLWAY - NIGHT

Dark Tanja makes her way through the halls in search of the
exit.
She goes around a corner and into another hall where she
instantly notices a large frame covered by a dusty white sheet.
She is drawn to the frame, her curiosity budding, slowly she
peeks under the sheet but cannot make out what is surely a

6 Days Dark

[11]

large picture in the Victorian frame. Her curiosity consumes

her and she removes the sheet entirely but what is revealed
is not a picture but instead a large mirror, probably the
only mirror in the entire Castle.
Dark Tanja can barely see her reflection in the mirror, its
very dusty and grimy. She wipes away a thick coat of dust
and grime from the mirror, enough to see herself and an empty
hall behind her.
MAJOR VIGO (O.S.)
There you are.
Although Dark Tanja hears Vigo's voice he is not present in
the mirror, she turns around to see where his voice is coming
from and as she turns around she is startled to see Vigo
just a foot or two directly behind her, practically in her
face.
Dark Tanja's first instinct is to double check the mirror
because Vigo was not in the mirror seconds ago, but before
she could turn towards the mirror again Vigo takes hold of
her hand.
MAJOR VIGO
This way my dear. Allow me to
escort you to the dining room.
And with that Vigo leads Dark Tanja away from the Mirror,
but we look into the mirror to see Dark Tanja being lead
away by what can only be an imaginary Vigo or an invisible
one because what we see is clearly Tanja holding her hand
out as if its being held by someone not visible.

that she is dreaming these images.

DREAM (1) IN SEPIA TONE continues

14

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Vigo gives Aleksandra a glass of vodka and takes a seat at
the table with her and Dark Tanja.
DARK TANJA
How did you two meet if you don't
mind me asking?
ALEKSANDRA
During the war. Vigo was a Major
with the German army.
DARK TANJA
You must have been very young,
that war was nearly 20 years ago.
Aleksandra's eyes cross as she cuts in ALEKSANDRA
Over seventy years!
No sooner did Aleksandra say these words she realizes that
she should not have.
DARK TANJA
But,.. The war was in the nineties.
I was just a kid.
Frustrated with the prospect of having to explain herself
now, Aleksandra decides to end the charade.
ALEKSANDRA
No Sweetie, the forties!
Realizing that the charade has now ended Vigo gives
Aleksandra a demonic smile.
Furious, Aleksandra pounds her fist on the table.
ALEKSANDRA
Vigo Darling! How long do we have
to play this game!?
Vigo's smile widens.
MAJOR VIGO
... Game over!

6 Days Dark

[13]

Dark Tanja is confused and cannot make sense of what is going

on.
Suddenly, Aleksandra's eyes are no longer brown but instead
black. And she begins to transform into a hideous monster.
The blood from her face has all but drained, she is deathly
pale, her lips are purple and set in black gums.
The sight of Aleksandra freezes Dark Tanja in fear. She
glances to Vigo who is also transforming into a horrific
abomination, a creature worse than Aleksandra.
DARK TANJA
... What, what-are-you?
MAJOR VIGO
Different!
Dark Tanja SCREAMS... And continues to SCREAM...
MAJOR VIGO
Enough or I'll rip your tongue out!
Even over her own piercing voice Dark Tanja hears the threat
and ends her concert of screams. However, she is no less
shaken and very frightened.
DARK TANJA
This is not real,.. This can't be
real!
Vigo leans into Dark Tanja.
MAJOR VIGO
We are as real as you are alive.
DARK TANJA
What do you want!?
MAJOR VIGO
Just a little blood.
And with that CUT TO:

6 Days Dark

Dark Tanja faints, dropping backwards, and as her head hits

the hard ground Dark Tanja transforms into Our Tanja, who is dreaming all of this.

EXT. VARIOUS BELGRADE STREETS - NIGHT

Belgrade: It is very early in the morning, nearly 3:00 am.
Tanja wanders the streets...
The streets are void of people, traffic, and the usual sounds
of a live city, not even a stray cat nor dog can be seen
about, everybody, everything is asleep in this Balkan
Metropolis.
Tanja wanders into a park and sits on a bench.
She turns her head to her right side and sees [CLOSE UP]
Sitting beside her is a young woman with a horrific open
wound to the forehead, a wound that only a large axe could
make. Her face is covered in dried blood caked to her skin.

Tanja's eyes are vacant upon seeing this woman sitting beside
her, as if she has seen this many of times before. There is
no reaction from Tanja.
Tanja calmly gets up from the bench and leaves.

and ominous looking psychiatric Institution.

EXT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Tanja looks as if her walk has come to an end.
She is obviously tired, possibly dehydrated, and certainly
not of fit mind and state as evident from her appearance.
A NURSE (40 years old) exits the building,..
We can tell she is a Nurse by the uniform she is wearing
thus we must conclude that the building is in fact a hospital.
The Nurse stops to light a cigarette. She has probably just
finished her shift and is on her way home.
After a couple of drags of her cigarette the Nurse spots
Tanja who is staggering to stand on her own strength.
The Nurse hurries to Tanja's aid.
NURSE
My dear are you alright?
Tanja does not respond.
The Nurse takes hold of Tanja supporting her from falling.
It is obvious that Tanja cannot go any further.
NURSE
Can you walk in with me or shall
I call for some more help?
Tanja with glossy eyes and disorientated looks at the Nurse.
The Nurse seems angelic to her and for the first time we see
an ever so faint smile from Tanja's lips.
NURSE
Shall I call for more help dear!?
Tanja shakes her head "no" and musters what little strength
she has left to enter the building with only the Nurse's
help and as they enter the hospital -

6 Days Dark

Tanja notices the Hospital MAINTENANCE WORKER (38 years old)

putting away heavy tools. Among the tools is a horrific
looking axe, huge in size.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - RECEPTION - NIGHT

The Nurse and Tanja enter the reception area and interrupt
an exchange of flirts between a NURSE "Aleksandra", the same
Aleksandra from the Castle, and Major "Vigo", also from the
Castle...
But as soon as Tanja sees them they are no longer "Aleksandra"
and "Vigo" but instead an ATTRACTIVE YOUNG BLOND NURSE (28
years old) and a much older (42 years old) less attractive
DOCTOR MATIC that looks nothing like Vigo.
NURSE
Doctor I think this young lady
needs help.
Doctor Matic hurries to the Nurse and Tanja.
DR. MATIC
(To Tanja)
Are you hurt?
Tanja suddenly looks much better than she did seconds ago,
as if entering this building has given her a resuscitation.
TANJA
No.
DR. MATIC
Can you stand up alone?
TANJA
Of course.
The Nurse slowly releases her hold on Tanja. And indeed Tanja
is able to stand on her own.
NURSE
She looked as if she could not
take another step outside.
DR. MATIC
I will take her from here nurse.
Go on home, you've had a long day.

6 Days Dark

[18]

The Nurse gives Doctor Matic a nod and a final look at Tanja
and then leaves the building.
The other Nurse behind the reception looks on with interest.
DR. MATIC
Can I examine you. Just to be
certain that everything is okay?
Tanja considers the question and nods her head "yes".
The attractive nurse behind the reception counter rolls her
eyes in disgust obviously not convinced at Tanja's need for
help.
Doctor Matic leads Tanja into one of several near-by rooms.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - INTERVIEW ROOM - NIGHT

The room is all white, hardly anything inside it, aside from
a table, a few chairs, a gooseneck lamp, a note book and a
phone on the table.
There is an old rickety wooden window in the room and
absolutely nothing on the walls other than a diploma
presumably the Doctor's.
The room's main light source is a long track of florescent
lights stretching from one end of the ceiling to the other,
but they are turned off thus the only illumination featured
is coming from the surprisingly bright gooseneck lamp on the
table.
DR. MATIC
What is your name?
TANJA
Tanja.
DR. MATIC
Tanja, I'm Doctor Matic.
TANJA
... I know.
DR. MATIC
Really!? And how did you know that.

6 Days Dark

[19]

Tanja points with her eyes to a name tag on the Doctors shirt.
Dr. Matic looks down at his shirt and smiles embarrassingly
as he realizes that in fact pinned to his shirt is a name
tag with his name on it.
DR. MATIC
Well there's certainly nothing
wrong with your observation
abilities.
TANJA
Do you think?
DR. MATIC
Why are you here Tanja?
TANJA
Because a nurse brought me in here.
DR. MATIC
But why did she do that?
Tanja considers the question carefully,..
And then answers TANJA
I was tired and needed to sit
down for a moment. But there was
nowhere to sit outside.
DR. MATIC
Are you hurt?
TANJA
You asked me that already, and I
said no. What kind of Doctor are
you anyway?
DR. MATIC
I'm a psychiatrist. I help people.
TANJA
If I were hurt, then how would
you help me?

6 Days Dark

[20]

DR. MATIC
That depends on what kind of hurt
you are in. Naturally if it were
a physical hurt I would arrange
for an ambulance to take you to
the Hospital.
TANJA
And if it were any other kind of
hurt, you could help?
DR. MATIC
I could try, that is my job.
TANJA
Do you like your job?
DR. MATIC
Yes. I like to help people. How
can I help you.
Tanja looks at the dark window.
TANJA
Do you always work at night?
DR. MATIC
Mostly, but not always.
A brief pause...
TANJA
Well it be day soon?
Doctor Matic looks at his watch.
DR. MATIC
In two hours, the sun will rise.
Tanja snaps TANJA
No it won't!
Tanja's answer raises a red flag for the Doctor as evident
from his expression.
DR. MATIC
Why do you say that?

6 Days Dark

[21]

Tanja shuffles in her chairs, she suddenly looks uncomfortable.

TANJA
Because I have not seen daylight
in six days.
DR. MATIC
Then I will stay with you until
the sun rises and we'll see the
day light together.
Tanja locks eyes with the Doctor.
TANJA
And if the daylight doesn't come,
what will you do then to help me
Doc?
DR. MATIC
Why do you think the daylight
won't come?
Tanja repeats her question.
TANJA
What will you do then to help me
Doctor?
DR. MATIC
I will then try to wake up because
I am obviously dreaming.
Tanja finally settles down in her chair and looks more at
ease now.
TANJA
Can you be aware that you are
dreaming. Is that possible?
DR. MATIC
Yes.
TANJA
Then you should be able to wake
yourself up, right?
DR. MATIC
If you are aware that you are in
a dream, then yes you should be
able to wake yourself up.

6 Days Dark

[22]

TANJA
But if you can't, is it still a
dream?
The Doctor leans back in his chair, takes off his glasses
and wipes them.
DR. MATIC
... No.
TANJA
Than what is it?
DR. MATIC
I don't know.
TANJA
Could it be death?
The Doctor locks eyes with Tanja before putting his glasses
back on.
DR. MATIC
No, but it could be a coma.
TANJA
So what are you doing in-my-coma,
Doctor?
DR. MATIC
You could be hearing my voice
while you are in a coma.
TANJA
Are you hearing my voice?
DR. MATIC
Yes.
TANJA
How is it possible for you to
hear my voice?
DR. MATIC
It's not.
Tanja, completely comfortable now, takes her jacket off.
TANJA
Then I'm not in a coma.

6 Days Dark

[23]

Tanja rummages through her purse and takes out a pack of

cigarettes and a gold Zippo lighter and then lights a
cigarette.
DR. MATIC
You are not suppose to smoke in
here.
She disregards the Doctors remark and smokes while studying
her Zippo...
TANJA
What time is it Doctor?
The Doctor looks at his watch.
DR. MATIC
Its-And then he stops.
DR. MATIC
... It seems my watch stopped
working.
Tanja finally puts her Zippo away and looks visibly agitated
now, taking longer drags on her cigarette.
Her eyes wandering about the room.
TANJA
How come it's so quiet here?
DR. MATIC
This institution is in its final
stages of transferring the last
of its patients to a more modern
facility. Most of the staff has
already been transferred.
A long silence ensues...
And then TANJA
Doctor what do I look like?
DR. MATIC
What do you mean?

6 Days Dark

[24]

Tanja drops the cigarette on the floor and smothers it with

her boot and leans across the table closer to the Doctor.
TANJA
Can you describe me, please?
She pulls back from the table and awaits the Doctors
response...
DR. MATIC
You are young, maybe twenty three,
twenty four. Very pretty, long
brown hair, you have green eyes.
Full lips. Youre about five foot
seven tall, one hundred fifty
pounds, maybe a little less. You
appear to have a fit body.
Tanja suddenly buries her face in her hands and rubs her
temple as if externally massaging a splitting migraine.
DR. MATIC
Are you alright!?
Face still buried in her hands.
TANJA
Can I have some water, please?
DR. MATIC
Of course.
Doctor Matic gets up from behind the table, and leaves the
room.
INSERT: CGI SPECIAL EFFECT (1)
As the Doctor leaves we catch a quick glimpse of what
appeared to look like a shadow of some sort of creature with
long clawed fingers rush across the room behind Tanja.
Tanja takes out another cigarette, lights it, and takes a
long drag. She then glances at the window, it is still dark
outside.

on the wall indicating it is 5:00 am.
The Doctor returns with a glass of water, he gives it to
Tanja and sits down while Tanja takes a drink.
And the interview continues...
DR. MATIC
It's five AM which is a little
strange?
TANJA
So it's the same time now as it
was when I first came in.
The Doctor somewhat unnerved nods his head "yes".
The Doctor flips through his notes, writes in another entry
and then DR. MATIC
You mentioned Sergej earlier. Who
is he?
TANJA
He was Svetlana's husband. And my
lover.
DR. MATIC
You had an affair with him?
TANJA
I loved him.

TANJA (V.O.)
He would see me every day.
With a window partly open, a faint breeze flows into the
dimly lit room.
TANJA (V.O.)
... And every day we would make
love. Beautiful love.
Tanja is atop of Sergej moving sensually, gracefully...
She is not skinny, but muscular, her skin silky smooth. The
curves of her naked body are partially covered by the sheets.
TANJA (V.O.)
I fell in love with him the first
day we met. We started seeing
each other once in a while and
then later almost every day. I
was so happy.
The only light in the room is provided by the fading daylight
through the window.
TANJA (V.O.)
It was me who introduced him to
Svetlana. I didn't think a month
later they would get married. Or
that four years later, we would
be sharing him.
There is no rushing here, just passionate love making...
TIME CUT:
Tanja slips out of bed nude, picks up Sergej's dress shirt
and puts it on unbuttoned, then goes to the window and stares
out into the city.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did Svetlana love him?

6 Days Dark

[27]

TANJA (V.O.)
Not at first. He was just another
victory for her. But after the
birth of their child, a boy, she
changed. I could see it in her
eyes, she actually loved him too.
Something I thought she could
never do.
CUT TO:
Sergej lights a cigarette, takes a few drags and then gets
out of bed with cigarette in hand and begins to dress.
TANJA
Smoking could kill you.
SERGEJ
My dear crossing the street could
kill me.
With trousers and an undershirt on Sergej goes over to Tanja
by the window, gives her a gentle kiss on the neck, and then
slips his shirt off of her revealing her nude body.
He puts his dress shirt on and studies himself in the mirror
while we catch a glimpse in the same mirror of Tanja dressing
in the background.
TANJA
When will I see you again?
SERGEJ
I have a meeting in this hotel
Friday. I will come up to see you
after that.
TANJA
Let's go somewhere Sergej!
Somewhere different. Maybe
Montenegro, Greece or Turkey.
We're always in this hotel.
SERGEJ
We talked about this darling. I
cannot just leave Belgrade
unexplained.
TANJA
Tell her it's a business trip.

6 Days Dark

[28]

Just three days Sergej! Three days!

Both of them are now fully dressed.
Sergej looks away from the mirror and then at Tanja sternly.
SERGEJ
Tanja, please!
Tanja goes over to Sergej and hugs him.
He embraces her gently.
A single tear trickles down Tanja's cheek. She wipes it away
while still in Sergej's embrace so that he does not see it.
Sergej kisses Tanja again, and we can tell by Tanja's
expression after the kiss that this was no ordinary kiss.
TANJA (V.O.)
I knew it was our last kiss.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Last kiss?
TANJA (V.O.)
I felt it on his lips.
We see Sergej leaving the room in a slow motion dream like
way while Tanja looks on with a worried flushed face.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
... Where is Sergej now?

EXT. BELGRADE MARKET - DAY

The rising sun peaks through the clouds casting a welcoming
light to warm the bones.
Tanja wanders among the vendors and customers in search of
fresh fruits.
She picks several bright peaches.
The vender puts them into a transparent plastic bag and gives
it to her.
And then -

6 Days Dark

[29]

Within earshot of an unsuspecting Tanja the vendor turns up

the news from a portable radio.
It relates the following:
NEWS REPORTER (V.O.)
Late last night the northbound
Nis train collided with a vehicle.
Police report that Russian
businessman Sergej Nikolaevich
died at the scene. The cause of
the accident is unknown and still
under investigation. In other
news -The newscast fades and our attention is diverted to SLOW MOTION STARTS:
Tanja drops the colorful peaches, they crash to the worn
pavement.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Are you alright Tanja?
She brings one shaking hand to her mouth.
SLOW MOTION ENDS.
TANJA (V.O.)
He's gone.
And with that we leave the market and go to CUT TO:

EXT. BELGRADE CEMETERY - DAY

A small well kept cemetery.
Brooding dark clouds fill the early morning skies, faint
rumbling thunder can be heard in the distance.
The odd raindrop pelts the open casket where we can see
Sergej laying in a peaceful state.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did Svetlana find out about the
affair?

6 Days Dark

[30]

Tanja stares at Sergej in the coffin. She has her bravest

face on, but it begins to crack, she cannot hold her emotions
back any longer and breaks down in silent grief.
TANJA (V.O.)
Yes. She could tell with just one
look at me. It was obvious. I
broke down.
Svetlana with her SON (3 years old) by her side and evidently
grief stricken too takes notice of Tanja's pain.
TANJA (V.O.)
I think mother knew too.
We can tell, as can Tanja, that Svetlana and probably OLGA
(56 years old), the sisters mother, now know that Sergej and
Tanja must have had an affair.
TANJA (V.O.)
We said nothing to each other.
And from that day on nothing was
the same again.
The sisters do not exchange words at the small private
funeral. They grieve quietly and separately while the priest
performs his Christian Orthodox funeral ritual.

INT. HOTEL MOSKVA - TANJA'S ROOM - SITTING AREA - DAY

Spent tissues are scattered on the coffee table. A newspaper
reports the details of Sergej Nikolaevich's death.
Eyes filled with tears, Tanja looks at a photo of him in the
newspaper with his family at some public event.
A loud KNOCK at the door.
She's not expecting anyone, but goes to answer anyway.
Tanja opens the door and Svetlana enters the room, she is smug, full of confidence
and visibly angry.
She smirks at Tanja and lets herself in, and like a beat cop
does a slow walk around the room observing every detail.

6 Days Dark

[31]

SVETLANA
What are you still doing here?
Tanja does not reply.
SVETLANA
Did you think I wouldn't find out
about this room?
Again, Tanja says nothing.
Svetlana looks at her with icy cold eyes.
SVETLANA
Aren't you going to say anything!?
TANJA
What do you want me to say Svetlana?
Svetlana eyes the silver diamond studded necklace around
Tanja's neck.
SVETLANA
Nice necklace. I have one just
like that. Sergej had a lot of
balls to buy both of us the same
necklace.
Svetlana sees the newspaper on the coffee table.
She continues to hover around Tanja for a moment then takes
a seat on the sofa.
There is a long and awkward silence...
SVETLANA
He never loved you. He fucked you,
but he couldn't love you.
Svetlana lights a cigarette while Tanja searches for the
strength to engage in this discussion.
TANJA
Don't blame me because you
couldn't satisfy him!

6 Days Dark

[32]

SVETLANA
If that were true bitch, then you
didn't satisfy him either, because
he's got another whore just like
you. Did you think, you and I
were the only ones?
TANJA
I don't believe that.
SVETLANA
While he was inside you, did he
promise he would leave me!?
Tanja is disgusted by the question.
Svetlana laughs out loud, almost in a melody.
SVETLANA
You think you were special?
TANJA
You have every right to be angry
but it's not my fault you lost his
love.
SVETLANA
He didn't love anyone bitch!
Except our son, who now because
of you doesn't have a father.
TANJA
That's not fair.
Svetlana is increasingly angry, a fury burns in her eyes.
She eyes a letter opener buried under the newspaper and
reaches for it.
SVETLANA
Do you think I'm just going to
let this go!?
Svetlana examines the sharpness of the letter opener. Not
terribly sharp but the tip of the opener is sharp enough.
TANJA
What's the point. It won't bring
Sergej back.
Tanja notices Svetlana's interest in the letter opener.

6 Days Dark

[33]

SVETLANA
I was going to pay someone to
kill you but that wouldn't be
satisfying enough.
TANJA
So now you're going to personally
kill me? And with a letter opener,
because your husband didn't love
you?
Svetlana eyes Tanja with an icy cold glare.
SVETLANA
No.
TANJA
Do you think I am hurting any
less than you?
SVETLANA
Not even close!
TANJA
I loved him too.
Svetlana tests the sharpness of the letter opener on her
thumb. The tip of the letter opener penetrates the skin and
a thick bubble of blood emerges from the cut, she pays no
mind to the now thin flow of blood dripping from her thumb.
SVETLANA
You forget who we are and where
we came from.
TANJA
You going to curse me, is that it?
Svetlana gets up from the sofa with bleeding thumb and letter
opener in hand, she has a bright smile on her face.
SVETLANA
As a matter fact, yes!
Tanja eyes the bleeding thumb.
TANJA
Go away Svetlana.
Svetlana angrily snaps.

6 Days Dark

[34]

SVETLANA
Go away!? You're staying in a
hotel room my husband is paying
for. And now, I am paying for!
And you're telling me to go away!
TANJA
Fine, then I'll go!
Tanja begins to gather her belongings, while Svetlana eyes a
large hairbrush by the vanity mirror.
SVETLANA
Yes you will, straight to hell!
Svetlana goes to the vanity mirror and takes the hairbrush.
Tanja locks eyes with Svetlana from across the room.
TANJA
You're serious!?
SVETLANA
Remember the curse mother told us
about, the one that drove the
Nazi's mad. And turned them
against each other.
TANJA
It's a Jewish fairy tale Svetlana.
SVETLANA
A fairy tale would imply a happy
ending. This curse does not have
a happy ending little sister.
Svetlana puts the hairbrush down, and places a single strand
of hair onto her left palm, then hovers her bleeding thumb
over the strand of hair allowing several droplets of blood
to soak it.
TANJA
So now you're a gypsy?
SVETLANA
I've always been a gypsy. And so
have you!
Tanja snaps angrily -

6 Days Dark

[35]

TANJA
No Gypsy without good cause may
harm another Gypsy by means of
curse. To do so will result in
facing the Kris and expulsion
from the Gypsy nation. Do you
remember that law?
SVETLANA
Fucking my husband is good cause!
TANJA
You're not well Svetlana.
Svetlana presses her palms together in a prayer like way.
The blood and strand of hair in between her palms.
And then She closes her eyes tightly as she recites a curse.
SVETLANA
I summon the dark lord, keeper of
the six days dark curse to come
forth and do my bidding fore a
terrible wrong has been done to
me. With this strand of hair mixed
with my spilled blood I name thy
enemy, and beg of the dark lord
to release his darkness on thy
enemy,.. And cause them terror
for six days, and six nights,
cause their soul to grow darker
and darker until it is no more
and they are no longer.
Svetlana opens her eyes, they are darker than normal, almost
black, and lifeless.
She locks eyes with Tanja.
TANJA
What's wrong with you Svetlana!?
Tanja's demeanor turns to concern and we can tell she wants
to reach out to her sister and comfort her but it's clear
Svetlana will have nothing to do with it.
SVETLANA
You are doomed!

6 Days Dark

[36]

Svetlana laughs demonically...

Tanja knows there is nothing she can do or say to reach out
and comfort her sister.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
After you left Svetlana what did
you do then?

INT. BELGRADE CAFE - DAY

A busy and fashionable cafe with upbeat music playing and a
young clientele.
TANJA (V.O.)
I met with my friend Ivana. I was
through with the city and was
planning to visit my aunt on her
farm.
An attractive and fashionable brunette IVANA (24 years old)
sits with Tanja.
IVANA
What are you going to do?
TANJA
Don't know. I'm an idiot to
believe he would have left her.
IVANA
Honey, for a while there even I
thought he might leave wifey for
you. And maybe he would have, if
that damn accident didn't happened.
Tanja fidgets in her chair.
TANJA
She put a curse on me.
IVANA
Tanja you don't actually believe
in that stuff do you?
TANJA
I don't know, guess not.

6 Days Dark

[37]

IVANA
You have more important things to
worry about, like what are you
going to do for money?
Tanja rolls her eyes at such a mundane thought.
TANJA
You're the closest I have to
family now. Except for two aunts -Tanja searches through her purse for something while Ivana
eyes Tanja's necklace.
IVANA
You can sell the necklace. It's
probably worth over a thousand
Euros.
Tanja finds what she is searching for, a photograph.
She flips the photograph over on the other side and studies
some writing on it. She didn't even hear Ivana's suggestion
to sell the necklace.
IVANA
Did you hear me!?
Tanja breaks her attention from the photo and looks at Ivana.
TANJA
What?
IVANA
You didn't hear what I said.
TANJA
I'm sorry.
Tanja hands Ivana the photo.
TANJA
This is my grandmother with my
mother and my two aunts at their
old farmhouse.
Ivana looks at it briefly...
IVANA
Where is this place?

6 Days Dark

[38]

TANJA
There's an address on the back.
Ivana flips the photo around.
IVANA
You thinking of going there? This
is near Bosnia!
TANJA
What other choice do I have? My
only other family is in Canada
and I can't get there, not right
now anyway.
IVANA
When was the last time you saw
this aunt?
TANJA
... Never.
IVANA
This is not a good Idea. How do
you know she even lives there any
more.
TANJA
She probably does.
Ivana is not convinced.
IVANA
Why don't you stay with us for a
little while. I'm sure Zoran won't
mind.
TANJA
No, this is the only place I can
go to right now.
A brief silence....
IVANA
Alright but I'm coming there in a
few days to see how you're doing
and to bring you some money.
Tanja hugs Ivana.

6 Days Dark

[39]

TANJA
Thank you.
IVANA
For what?
Ivana gives Tanja the photo back.
TANJA
For being a friend.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did you sell the necklace?
TANJA (V.O.)
No. I had some money, not much. I
Took a train and went to my aunt's
village.

EXT. ZVORNIK TRAIN STATION - PLATFORM - DAY

Tanja along with a few more passengers disembark the train
at the station platform.
TANJA (V.O.)
No. It was late when the train
finally got in. I wasn't sure how
to get to the farm from the
station, didn't really give it
much thought until I got there,..
And then I saw him.

6 Days Dark

[41]

STEFAN (32 years old) leaning against a wall, smoking a

cigarette.
She stares at him...
Until he spots her looking, and she quickly turns her
attention away from him.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Him?.. Who?
TANJA (V.O.)
Stefan. He was just standing there,
wasn't waiting for a train. He
was just,.. there.
Pause...
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Go on.
Tanja shows Stefan the address on the back of the photograph.
TANJA (V.O.)
I asked him how to get to my
aunt's village.
Stefan takes the photo from Tanja and studies the address on
the back for a long moment, then explains to her how to go
about getting to the village.
TANJA (V.O.)
He knew exactly how to get there,
and explained it to me.
TANJA (V.O.)
I asked him for a cigarette and
he gave me one.
Tanja asks Stefan for a cigarette and he gives her one then
lights it for her using the same Zippo Tanja now has.

The Doctor's eyes briefly examine the lighter.
DR. MATIC

TANJA (V.O.)
Me! Her,.. I'm her. She's the
curse, my dark side.
Pure eroticism, there is no love making here, just steamy sex.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
You had sex with him?
TANJA (V.O.)
I fucked his eyes out!

DR. MATIC (V.O.)
When you met earlier did you
discuss seeing each other?
TANJA (V.O.)
I don't know.
And then DR. MATIC (V.O.)
You don't remember?
TANJA (V.O.)
He was bleeding.
While Stefan is on top of Dark Tanja his eyes begin to bleed,
blood drips on Dark Tanja's breast, and throat...
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
You hurt him?
TANJA (V.O.)
No. Yes!
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did you kill him?
TANJA (V.O.)
I dont know. But he won't be
seeing anymore women that's for
sure!
Dark Tanja runs her hands across her blood slicked breasts
and realizes its blood, she panics and attempts to wiggle
out from underneath Stefan as he looks down at her with a
grin...
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Did you blind him?
TANJA (V.O.)
I think so.

6 Days Dark

Eyes don't bleed from sex Tanja.
What did you do to him?
TANJA
I dont know Doctor.
DR. MATIC
When did you last see him?
TANJA
I don't know,.. A few days ago.
The Doctor leans back into his chair to take in the story he
just heard and then Suddenly, Tanja's face turns numb.
Her breathing slows, her eye lids are heavy, and we take
another trip inside of Tanjas world.
INSERT: CGI SPECIAL EFFECT (2)
Standing behind the Doctor is a demon-like looking Dark Tanja
holding the axe we first saw by the Hospital entrance.
DR. MATIC
What is wrong Tanja?
TANJA
I'm standing behind you. Right now!
The Doctor begins to slowly turn around and as he does Dark Tanja raises the axe as if to strike him with it but
before the Doctor could complete the turn -

6 Days Dark

[45]

TANJA
No! Don't. Please! Don'tturn...around.
The Doctor stops. And swings back towards Tanja.
DR. MATIC
You seem frighten Tanja.
Dark Tanja continues to stand behind the Doctor with axe
raised, ready to strike.
TANJA
What is behind you Doctor is not
very pleasant.
DR. MATIC
You're standing behind me, that's
what you said.
TANJA
Yes!
DR. MATIC
But you're sitting in front of me
too.
Tanja begins to unravel,.. It is getting to be all too much
for her.
TANJA
I don't know if I really am
sitting in front of you or if any
of this discussion is real but
what I do know Doctor is that if
you turn around my -She stops cold.
DR. MATIC
Go on, tell me.
TANJA
... My other self, will kill you!
DR. MATIC
Don't let her do that.
TANJA
How?

6 Days Dark

[46]

DR. MATIC
Tell her to go away.
TANJA
She leaves when she wants and
comes when she wants. I can't
control her!
DR. MATIC
Has she killed before?
TANJA
Yes!
A long pause...
DR. MATIC
Look away from her Tanja. Look
away from her and she'll be gone.
Tanja turns her head away slowly from both the doctor and
Dark Tanja. And looks blankly at bare white walls.
DR. MATIC (O.S.)
I promise you Tanja she is gone
now. Look back now and you will
see that she's no longer here.
Tanja slowly turns her head towards the Doctor and just as
he said her dark (Tanja) side is no longer behind him with
axe in hand. She is gone.
TANJA
She's gone.
DR. MATIC
Can I turn around and also see?
Tanja tearfully nods her head "yes". And the Doctor turns
around to find nothing but empty space behind him.
TANJA
... Thank you.
Doctor Matic gives Tanja a moment to recompose herself while
he makes some notes.
A few seconds later...

6 Days Dark

[47]

TANJA
Is there a washroom I can use?
DR. MATIC
Yes there is. Do you want me to
show you where it is?
TANJA
No I'll find it myself.
DR. MATIC
Down the hall the last door on
the left.
Tanja drops a half smoked cigarette on the floor without
putting it out and leaves the office.
The Doctor studies her carefully as she leaves.

We enter the washroom along with Tanja.
It is a cold and dreary looking washroom, white brick walls,
a couple of stalls, and an old wash basin stained with years
of calcium buildup.
Above the wash basin is a mirror.
Tanja deliberately looks past the mirror so not to look at
herself and splashes water on her face.
A single light bulb on a crude wire clings from the ceiling
and flickers as if deciding whether to burn out or not.
The washroom's dreariness becomes eeriness. Tanja finishes
wiping the water from her face and leaves the washroom.

The eeriness we felt in the washroom is now extended to the

hall.
Something is different here, it actually looks longer, but
that is not quiet it, there's something more,..
Tanja feels it too and moves quickly and nervously down the
hall.
There are no longer lights at the reception area at the other
end, something is wrong.
Tanja cannot get back to the interview room fast enough and
as she turns the corner in the hall we see INSERT: CGI EFFECT (3)
A massive number of large black spiders bunched together
giving chase.
We can tell Tanja senses the spiders behind her and for a

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - DUNGEON - NIGHT

A musty and dark dungeon with dirt floors and a large iron
gate.
TANJA (V.O.)
... A terrible place.
Tanja slowly awakens in the corner of a dark dungeon cell to
the sound of a heavy set iron gate rattling to open.
TANJA (V.O.)
They caught Ivana.
HOFFMAN (44 years old) enters our frame forcibly escorting
IVANA (24 years old) into the cell then throwing her onto
the dirt ground.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
She was with you in the Dungeon?
She lands in front of Tanja who is sitting on a makeshift
wooden bench.
The moment Ivana locks eyes with Tanja, there is a euphoric
exchange between the women, they hug and look each other
over to make sure one another are in fact well.
IVANA
Tanja! Tanja!
Tanja however excited to see her friend is lost for words.
IVANA
Are you alright!?
Tanja nods "yes".
IVANA
You sure!?
TANJA
How did you find me?
Ivana struggles with her answer.

6 Days Dark

[50]

IVANA
I,.. I'm not sure. I was at the
train station,.. Trying to figure
out how to get to your aunt's
farm and then... This jerk is
forcing me down some stairs and
into this place, throwing me in
here.
TANJA
Did you see them!? They're
monsters! They're not human!!!
IVANA
Who are you talking about? Look
it doesn't matter, we need to get
out of here right now!
Ivana's eyes scan the dungeon. There are only two possible
ways out and both look formidable to get through, the iron
bar window about six feet from the ground, and the huge iron
gate in front of them.
TANJA (V.O.)
She wasn't in the dungeon two
minutes and already she was
working on a way to get out. If
only I had her strength.
Ivana chooses to examine the barred window first. She twists
and tugs and pulls at the bars until the ancient plaster
around the base of the bars begins to crumble.
Tanja looks on with determined hope.
It does not take long before one of the iron bars comes lose,
sensing success in jarring the bar away from its foundation
Ivana looks back at Tanya and IVANA
Tanja! Help me!
Tanja gets up on the wooden bench and tugs and pulls at the
bar with Ivana...
Finally success -

6 Days Dark

[51]

The bar rips out of the foundation and is in Ivana's hand.

She examines the bar closely...
IVANA
If that jerk comes back before we
get through this window I'm going
to crack his head with this!
TANJA
Don't you think this was too easy!?
IVANA
No, not really I broke a nail.
The women begin a determined effort to jar lose another bar.
IVANA
How did they get you?
TANJA
I was going to kill myself.
Ivana stops working the bar and looks at Tanja seriously.
IVANA
You should have stayed in the
hospital!
Tanja looks at Ivana as though she has no idea what she means.
TANJA
What hospital?
Ivana is surprised at Tanja's reply.
IVANA
Are you kidding me!?
TANJA
No. What hospital?
We can tell that Ivana is thinking to herself whether or not
Tanja has lost it.
IVANA
You don't remember?
TANJA
What's happening to me?

6 Days Dark

[52]

IVANA
I don't know, but we're not going
to wait around here to find out.
DR. MATIC (V.O.)
Why do you suppose she thought
you were in a hospital?
TANJA (V.O.)

DR. MATIC (V.O.)

away from the Castle and through

With less effort than they thought Ivana and Tanja escape
the Castle grounds and enter a dense forest.

IVANA

They look exhausted.

IVANA
We can't swim across this river,
It's too fast.
There is a small town on the other side of the river.
Tanja looks as if she recognizes where they are.
TANJA
I think I know where we are.
IVANA
Any bridges close by that you

TANJA
Yeah, there is one.
Tanja looks down river.
TANJA
It's down there, I'm sure. It's the
bridge that I wanted to throw

Ivana makes a move down river and Tanja follows.
IVANA
I don't know what happened to you,
or even me, but I'll promise you
this, as soon as we get far away
from here we're going to find

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - INTERVIEW ROOM - NIGHT

There is a long pause...
DR. MATIC
Tell me more about these dreams.
TANJA
I know when I am dreaming but I
cant wake myself up so then I'm
not sure they are dreams.
DR. MATIC
And in these dreams there won't
be sunrise?
TANJA
That's right.
DR. MATIC
Than you can control your dreams.
And you obviously choose not to
have sunrise.
TANJA
Why would I do that?

6 Days Dark

[55]

DR. MATIC
Perhaps you're punishing yourself.
I'm a Doctor in psychology so I
cannot believe in curses.
TANJA
I would like to wake up from this
dream Doctor. But I can't.
Brief pause...
DR. MATIC
I would like to suggest something
to you and for your part its
absolutely voluntary. You don't
have to agree to it.
TANJA
What?
DR. MATIC
I'd like to admit you here for
twenty four hours, then sedate
you so that you can fall asleep.
You'll wake up from this very
long dream in about eight hours
and finally see day light.
TANJA
Well I dream?
DR. MATIC
Yes, but we'll monitor you closely.
you'll be safe.
TANJA
So you want to put me in a dream
within a dream?
DR. MATIC
This is not a dream Tanja. I'm real.
Tanja considers the suggestion with unease.
TANJA
Well I wake up?
DR. MATIC
Yes.

Okay.
DR. MATIC
Good! No need to worry about

ATTRACTIVE NURSE
Put this on. And keep your
underwear and Bra on. The Doctor
will be with you in a moment.
It is obvious that this Nurse lacks even basic compassion
and is quite frankly rude.
TANJA
What is your problem besides being
a slut!?
ATTRACTIVE NURSE
My problem is little doggies like
you who come to hospitals
pretending to be something they
are not so that they can get
attention. Get a job! Get a life!
And with that remark the Nurse marches out of the room before
Tanja could respond.

This is it. She sighs and walks towards the front door

Oddly the jeans she finds are her size. She takes the jeans
and changes into them then sits at the kitchen table, lights
a cigarette and soaks in her surroundings.
And then she notices in the corner of the kitchen a pile of
more clothes. She gets up from her chair and goes over to
the clothes and digs through them.
She mumbles to herself in a soft whisper TANJA
My clothes? How did they get here?
She glances at her jeans and slowly runs her hand across her
pant leg as if to convince herself that they too are real.
And then She sees her jacket buried under some shirts and skirts and
digs it out and looks it over carefully, then slips her hand
inside one of the pockets and as evident from her expression
she is surprised to find something inside the pocket, she
withdraws her hand from the pocket revealing the diamond
studded necklace Sergej had bought, memories of Sergej somber
her and she puts the necklace back in the pocket and goes
back to the table and takes a seat again with jacket in hand.
She lights another cigarette and only now notices the Gold
Zippo in her hand, the same Zippo that Stefan used to light
her cigarette at the train station.
We can tell that she is wondering to herself how has she
come into possession of the Zippo and how did all her clothes
get here.

There are no working lights, she reaches into her back pocket

as she descends into the cellar.
The flame from the lighter does not illuminate past a few
feet in front of her.
She proceeds with caution not to trip over anything, but
still she steps into some sort of puddle losing her footing
and crashes to the ground causing the Zippo to jar loose
from her hand.
The lighter still has a flame, a normal attribute of a Zippo
until the lid is closed. The Zippo rests near the offending
puddle.
Sprawled out on the ground, Tanja looks over to the Zippo
and what she sees turns her stomach and petrifies her.
In the flickering light from the lighter we see the
dismembered remains of an older woman presumably Tanja's
aunt, spread out in a large puddle of blood.
What we notice most significantly is the fear locked in the
old woman's wide-open eyes. Tanja lets out a couple of
screeching screams, gets up on her feet and bolts through
the darkness... up the stairs... and out of the cellar...

Sitting at the table is a GYPSY TAROT CARD READER (52 years
old). Spread out before her on the table is a deck of Tarot
cards.
The kitchen is illuminated only by a single candle sitting
on the table.
Tanja is silently drawn to the Tarot card reader. She takes
a seat at the table with her.
The Tarot card reader taps her fingernail against the wooden
tabletop, then shuffles the over-sized deck of tarot cards.
Her hands move expertly, swiftly. One by one she puts down a
card.
The first card is The Lovers.
TAROT CARD READER
The Lovers, relationships.
Troubled your past is, recent
separation from a loved one causes
you great pain.
The second card is The Hanged Man.
TAROT CARD READER
The Hanged Man, sacrifice. Choose
to see things differently, or die
you will.

The Star, Faith. Lose hope you
must not, the light is there.
The fifth card in this horseshoe layout is Death.
TAROT CARD READER
Death, Transformation. Transition
will come, and change will be.
This stop you cannot.
The sixth card revealed is The Devil.
TAROT CARD READER
The Devil, Darkness Within. If
you believe darkness has won, it
has... but there is no Devil
except the one you create. And
create you have. Because he comes!
But not for you... He comes to
you?... Strange this is... He
comes to you? But why to you?...
This frightens Tanja... She does not want to imagine this.
TANJA
When?
TAROT CARD READER
... Strange this is.
TANJA
When will he come!

6 Days Dark

The Tarot card reader does not answer her.

The seventh and final card is Judgment. But it is upside down.

presumably from the Tarot card reader's face, followed by a
heavier stream of blood.

INT. MARKO'S TAVERN - MAIN DINING AREA - DAY

It is a quaint cozy little eatery.
An elderly couple nod at Tanja from a table as she takes in
the atmosphere.
From the kitchen, the middle aged owner of the tavern MARKO
(46 years old) emerges.
He gives Tanja a once over look and greets her.
MARKO
Good afternoon and welcome!
TANJA
Good afternoon.
MARKO
Please have a seat, anywhere you
like.
TANJA
Thank you.
Tanja sighs. And we can tell she is now thinking to herself
how to ask Marko for a job.
Marko comes to her.
MARKO
Dinner perhaps?
TANJA
Yes, and also I wanted to ask you
about something.
MARKO
What would you like to know?
TANJA
... I, I am new here. Just arrived
yesterday, well actually not here
but in Velika Reka. And I was...
I was wondering if maybe there
was a job opening here?

6 Days Dark

[66]

Marko considers the question carefully while his eyes give

Tanja an even closer look over.
We can sense that Marko is probably a sleaze-bag by just the
way he is looking at Tanja.
MARKO
I suppose we can find something
for you to do.
Tanja's eyes brighten with hope.
TANJA
Thank you! Thank you very much, sir.
MARKO
But now you must eat.
TANJA
Do you have,.. Soup?
MARKO
Yes, but you will need more than
soup because you start to work
tonight!
An awkward moment for Tanja. She must admit to Marko that
she only has enough Money for soup.
TANJA
... I only have enough for soup.
MARKO
We will deduct the dinner from
your pay.
Tanja graciously nods her head in agreement. And Marko winks at her.

Tanja comes through a swinging door with her dishes. The
kitchen is small and cramped but well organized.
No lights are on. The ovens are turned off. It is strangely
quiet.
The back door is open, perhaps Marko is outside on the backlot smoking.
She walks to the door to inspect it and sees nothing.
And then Marko appears behind her, flipping the lid of a gold Zippo
lighter open and closed...
Open and closed... The same Gold Zippo that Stefan had and
now in Tanja's possession too.
MARKO
How was it?
With that he startles Tanja.

6 Days Dark

[68]

She turns abruptly, trying not to drop the plate and bowl in
her hands.
She steadies herself.
TANJA
Oh, you scared me.
Marko is grinning.
MARKO
... Sorry.
But we know he is not sorry.
TANJA
I've,.. Been on edge, the last
few days.
MARKO
Where are you from?
TANJA
Belgrade.
MARKO
That's a long way from here.
TANJA
My aunt has a farm in Velika Reka.
I'm staying there for a little
while before going to Canada.
MARKO
Who is your aunt, maybe I know her?
TANJA
Sara.
Marko considers the name.
MARKO
Hmmm, no I can't say I know her.
Strange though I know mostly
everyone in town the villages
around here.

6 Days Dark

[69]

TANJA
Her farm is pretty high in the
hills, dont know if she comes to
town much.
MARKO
So you live alone up there. With
your aunt, of course?
Tanja becomes uncomfortable with the discussion. Her senses
tell her to be weary of Marko.
She attempts to change the subject.
TANJA
What should I do first!?
Marko Grins, again. This man's grin is really ugly and does
not benefit his overall look.
MARKO
Hmmm, let me see now.
Marko undresses Tanja with his eyes.
Tanja realizes what Marko might have in mind and puts on her
bravest face and keeps a strong front.
TANJA
I am not interested in that!
Marko snaps.
MARKO
Then pay for your dinner! It's
two thousand Dinars.
TANJA
That's ridiculous!
MARKO
That's the price! Are you refusing
to pay your bill?

6 Days Dark

[70]

TANJA
You said you would deduct the
cost of dinner from my pay.
MARKO
How can I deduct it when you won't
work.
TANJA
I am not a prostitute!
MARKO
Yes you are!
Marko unbuckles his belt.
Tanja takes a step back from him.
TANJA
You are making a mistake!
Marko takes a step closer to Tanja while fondling himself.
MARKO
Are you going to work off your
meal or am I going to call the
police?
Tanja takes the offensive and steps into Marko face-to-face.
TANJA
Let's call the police! I am sure
they will find the prices in your
menu quite interesting and
especially your payment options!
Marko considers her response for a long moment... all while
maintaining piercing eye contact.
MARKO
Pay me!
Tanja turns away from Marko to leave. He grabs her hair
pulling her back. She loses her footing, he wraps his arm
around her neck.
She struggles to break free, but it's no use, Marko is too
strong for her.

6 Days Dark

[71]

He leans her over the cutting table, she elbows him in the
chest, but to no effect.
She attempts to elbow him again, but Marko blocks the strike,
and takes firm hold of her arm.
Tanja eyes a knife on the cutting table some distance away
and desperately reaches for it with her free arm but it's no
use, it's too far away.
Marko releases his coke hold on her and once again grabs her
by the hair, then smashes her face into the cutting table.
Her knees buckle and she drops limp to the ground face first.
She is unconscious.
Marko stares at his prize on the ground, he seems satisfied
with himself. And then he bends down to the ground and flips
her limp body over, she is on her back now.
Her face swollen from meeting the table with such force.
Marko works the button on Tanja's jeans and gets it loose,
then pulls the jeans off, followed by her underwear.
Tanja appears to be coming to, her eyes flicker, she is
disoriented.
Marko glances at her face with a perverted grin and mounts
on top of her pinning her body under his weight, his knees
pressing down on her arms rendering her absolutely defenseless.
He then starts to unbutton her shirt, spreading the shirt
apart. He tours his index finger around the outline of her bra.
Tanja is fully conscious now. It pleases Marko as evident by
his expression. He lowers his face head down to her face to
kiss her lips, she tightens her lips in resistance. He forces
his lips on hers.
Suddenly the color from Tanja's face is drained. She looks
deathly pale, black blood vessels begin to appear under her
eyes, on her cheeks, and around her mouth, this startles
Marko, he pulls away quickly, sitting upright on her now,
looking down on her face in disbelief.

6 Days Dark

[72]

The transformation happening on Tanja's face intensifies and

Marko attempts to bolt from on top of her but Tanja grabs
his arm with her now free hand and tugs him back to her with
incredible force, he drops beside her like a life size rag
doll.
They are face-to-face now, but Marko is no longer with our
Tanja but instead he is now with Dark Tanja who looks
horrific, face filled with black vanes, black eyes and lips.
She speaks in a demonic voice.
DARK TANJA
Don't you want to fuck anymore?
Marko is stunned and unable to say a word.
Dark Tanja with shirt wide open and naked below the waist
gets up from beside Marko in lightning speed and mounts on
top of him pinning him to the ground now.
DARK TANJA
How do you want it baby!
Marko is frozen in fear and does not answer.
DARK TANJA
I usually like to kiss before I
fuck.
And with that Dark Tanja lowers herself down to Marko's face.
Dark Tanja bites Mark in the neck, he yells out in pain and
attempts to get out from underneath Dark Tanja while her
jaws are locked to his neck but it's no use she is too strong
for him.
Blood begins to first squirt from his neck and then spray,
Tanja sits up straight again her mouth cover with Marko's
blood.
She demonically laughs...

ceiling as if praying silently.
Her eyes begin to fill with tears, she cannot take this
torment much longer.
She wipes the tears from her eyes.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - HALLWAY - NIGHT

Tanja stares through the window into the darkness.
Tanja enters the hall and as before the hall is gloomy and
eerie, the florescent lights are still flickering and
emanating their hissing sound.
She marches down the hall with the same determination she
had in the room.
There is no one about,..
All is quiet except for the florescent light hiss and as she
turns the corner in the hall we once again enter Tanjas world
Suddenly In the next hall to her we half a dozen people walking about
aimlessly, and as Tanja passes the first person we see her
DEAD AUNT (60 years old).

6 Days Dark

[78]

But her Aunt is not alive and in fact she is dead as evident
from her Zombie like trance and lifeless eyes, her face is
without blood circulation, pale, dead.
Her Aunt is a walking zombie.
Tanja passes by her without a care as if she has seen this
before many of times.
Next Tanja encounters Major Vigo, Olga, Stefan, and the Mutilated
Young Lady we first encountered in the park on the bench.
All of them look like her Aunt, walking dead Zombies. And as
with her Aunt Tanja simply goes around them without a care,
some of the Zombies extend their arms in an attempt to touch
Tanja but she ducks or maneuvers around them so not to make
contact.
Tanja is intent on finding someone alive in this dark and
eerie hospital but her search comes up empty. There is no
one here, just the walking dead behind her.
Frustrated and now angry she snaps away from the reception
window.
And then Tanja disappears down the stairs towards the exit.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION STAIRCASE - NIGHT

We see Dark Tanja coming up the staircase with a huge axe in
hand, the same axe we saw upon our Tanja's arrival to the
Hospital.
She marches up the stairs with determination and fixed focus,
she is clearly on a war path.

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - RECEPTION - NIGHT

Dark Tanja encounters in the reception area the attractive
nurse putting away some files in the filing cabinets.

6 Days Dark

[79]

And before the nurse could say a word Dark Tanja wields the
axe at her driving it into her chest pinning her to the
filing cabinets, blood seeps and squirts wildly.
Dark Tanja waste no time admiring her gruesome work. She
pulls the axe out of nurses chest, and as the nurse falls to
the ground dead we see that in fact she is Aleksandra dressed
like a nurse and not the attractive blond nurse.
Dark Tanja then proceeds to look for the good Doctor...

INT. MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTION - HALLWAY - NIGHT

Dark Tanja with fury peaking searches for the Doctor, but he
is nowhere in sight.
Corner after corner, hall after hall, no sign of the Doctor.
Finally after several minutes of searching Tanja finds her prey.
We see the Doctor coming down the hallway.
He instantly locks eyes with Dark Tanja but he and we along
with him do not see Dark Tanja but instead we now see Our Tanja.
Tanja takes her stance.
TANJA
I'm looking for you, Doctor.
Our would-be hero the good Doctor is standing at the end of
the hall about a dozen meters away from Tanja.
We can tell that he is calculating in his mind his next move,
does he try to talk Tanja down, to drop the axe, or does he
run the other way. But as any good Doctor would do he decides
to talk Tanja down from her murderous rampage.
DR. MATIC
Let's put the axe down, shall we.
It's a little unnerving to talk to
you while you are holding that
horrid instrument.

6 Days Dark

[80]

TANJA
But then how shall I kill you
Doctor?
DR. MATIC
Why would you want to kill me,
Tanja.
TANJA
Because you are a liar!
DR. MATIC
What did I lie about?
TANJA
You said you were going to monitor
my sleep! You said there would be
sunrise when I wake up!!!
DR. MATIC
And indeed I did monitor your
sleep right up to an hour ago.
And their shall be sunrise-The Doctor, more visibly nervous now, glances at his watch.
DR. MATIC
It's only quarter past six Tanja!
The sun shall rise in twenty
minutes!
TANJA
Hamm, but you will be dead by then.
We can tell the Doctor is having second thoughts about
continuing to talk Tanja down, especially now as he is still
standing in one spot while Tanja is taking measured steps
towards him coming closer... and closer to him as they talk.
DR. MATIC
But then there will be no one to
see the sunrise with you.
TANJA
That's not true Doctor, see you're
lying again.
DR. MATIC
You didn't kill anyone else than?

6 Days Dark

[81]

TANJA
I killed!
DR. MATIC
And if you kill me then who will
see the sunrise with you?
Pause...
TANJA
The other Tanja. She will. We
dont need you. We Dont want you!!!
By now Tanja has closed the distance between her and the
Doctor by half.
DR. MATIC
Tanja! I insist you drop that axe,
right now!
TANJA
You insist nothing Doctor!
And with that, Dark Tanja charges the Doctor.
The Doctor bolts down the other hall and into the office
where he first interviewed Tanja.

The Axe strikes the Doctors head.

Her face is splattered with blood, we presume the Doctors
blood.
Her murderous mayhem is over.

INT. BELGRADE TAXI - TRAVELING - NIGHT

DREAM (4) ENDS.
Tanja awakes abruptly gasping for air as if suffocating...
She finds herself in a taxi.
The taxi driver turns his head towards Tanja.
TAXI DRIVER
You okay?
Tanja recomposes herself and calms her breathing.
TANJA
Yes. How long was I asleep?
The driver eyes Tanja in the rearview mirror.
TAXI DRIVER
Not long, a few minutes.

6 Days Dark

[83]

Tanja looks her clothing over, she is not bloodied, nor in a

hospital gown,.. She then turns her attention to looking out
the window...
TANJA
Thank you.
A few moments later the taxi arrives to its destination Sergej and Svetlana's house.
The Taxi rolls to a stop. And Tanja pays the driver.
TAXI DRIVER
Have a nice evening.
Tanja gives him a half smile, nods and gets out of the
Taxi.

EXT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - NIGHT

Tanja fully composed now and confident looking knocks on the
door.
A few seconds later...
Svetlana answers the door.
We can tell and so can Tanja that Svetlana is surprised to
see Tanja.
TANJA
Surprised I'm still alive?
SVETLANA
... You have a lot of nerve.
Tanja reaches into her pocket and withdraws a silver 45
Automatic hand gun and then points it at Svetlana.
TANJA
Shut up!
Tanja motions with the gun for Svetlana to move from the
door-way so she can get in.

Svetlana, trying hard to show she is unfazed by the apparent

threat in front of her, moves out of the way and Tanja enters the house.

INT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - FOYER - NIGHT

The foyer is breath taking. Obviously this is a house of
wealth.
SVETLANA
What do you want tramp!
TANJA
We're going to end this tonight.
Svetlana gives Tanja a brave piercing look.
SVETLANA
You think that gun is going to
persuade me to make like nothing
happened and call a truce?
TANJA
That, or kill you.
Svetlana makes her way through the foyer and into the living
room, Tanja follows.
CUT TO:

76

INT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

The livening room is modern furnished and spacious.
Svetlana takes a seat on the sofa.
Tanja joins her taking a seat on the sofa opposite of her,
gun still in hand and pointed at Svetlana.
SVETLANA
Now what.
TANJA
Where is Mother?

6 Days Dark

[85]

SVETLANA
She's not here. You going to shoot
me with my son in the house asleep?
TANJA
He's not in the house. On the
weekends he goes to the Equestrian
camp. Who do you think suggested
that camp to Sergej?
Svetlana's eyes burn in anger.
TANJA
You thought it was Sergej's idea?
SVETLANA
I married Sergej didn't I?
TANJA
And then you lost him to me.
Svetlana smiles.
SVETLANA
Am I suppose to lose it now and
attack you so that you can shoot
and kill me?
TANJA
No, not quite. You're suppose to
take this fucking curse off of me
first and then we'll see about
shooting you.
Svetlana laughs out loudly.
SVETLANA
And why would I do that!?
TANJA
Because if you don't I'm going to
shoot you many times, without
killing you. You'll be in terrible
pain, and we both know what your
tolerance for pain is. You're
going to bleed and cry until
mother comes home, and then I'll
shoot her too.

6 Days Dark

[86]

SVETLANA
Why would you hurt mother?
TANJA
Oh I won't hurt her. I'm going to
kill her.
SVETLANA
The curse. It's not suppose to
work like that.
TANJA
It seems you fucked the curse up
but that's because you probably
didn't follow mother's instructions
carefully.
SVETLANA
Mother had nothing to do with this!
Tanja snaps angrily.
TANJA
Mother had everything to do with
this! You're too stupid to do
this alone!
Svetlana becomes increasingly nervous as she realizes Tanja
is at a breaking point and capable of shooting her any minute.
SVETLANA
You stole my husband.
TANJA
We were seeing each other long
before he met you. And then you
convinced him to marry you, or
did mother have a hand in that
too and curse him to marry you?
SVETLANA
I don't know how to take the curse
off.
TANJA
So you never intended to take it
off. Was I suppose to kill myself,
is that it?
Svetlana does not answer.

6 Days Dark

[87]

TANJA
Well then, we'll wait for mother.

INT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - FOYER - NIGHT

A weary and tired looking Olga enters the house.
She is dressed in gypsy attire and from the moment she steps
inside the house she senses something is wrong, we can tell
this from the expression on her face.

78

INT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Tanja perks up upon hearing that someone has entered the house.
TANJA
It seems mother has arrived.
Svetlana appears concerned.
SVETLANA
Tanja she had nothing to do with
this.
TANJA
I guess we'll find out in a minute.
Olga enters the living room and is instantly distraught to
see Tanja with a gun.
OLGA
What is going on here!
Tanja eyes her mother while still pointing the gun at Svetlana.
TANJA
Have a seat Mother.
OLGA
Are you insane Tanja! What are
you doing?
Tanja points the gun at Olga now.
TANJA
Sit down Mother!

6 Days Dark

[88]

Olga sits on a third sofa between Tanja and Svetlana. And

Tanja points the gun at Svetlana again.
OLGA
(To Svetlana)
Svetlana!?
SVETLANA
It's complicated.
Olga turns to Tanja.
OLGA
Why are you pointing a gun at
your sister!
Tanja looks at Olga hard.
TANJA
Have you cursed anyone lately
mother?
OLGA
Of course not!
Tanja considers Olga's response for a long moment...
TANJA
You really don't know anything
about it.
OLGA
Know what!
Svetlana shrugs.
SVETLANA
I cursed her.
Olga furiously snaps her head towards Svetlana.
OLGA
You what!?. Why?
SVETLANA
Sergej is dead because of her!
Olga's eyes light up in anger.

6 Days Dark

[89]

OLGA
He is dead because of another
woman! One who apparently also
had a less than forgiving spouse.
SVETLANA
What are you talking about Mother?
OLGA
He was carrying on with another
young woman. You were right to
suspect him. I followed the toad
one day, and saw with my own eyes.
I think her mobster husband
arranged for Sergej to take a nap
in his car while parked on the
train track.
SVETLANA
Why didn't you tell me?
Tanja cuts in TANJA
Who is this other woman?
OLGA
(To Svetlana)
Why!? Are you going to shoot her
too!
Olga then snaps her head to Svetlana.
OLGA
Or maybe you can curse her first.
And then Tanja can shoot her!?
Look at you girls! You have both
gone mad! And over what! A
cheating toad!
Olga turns to Tanja.
OLGA
You are threatening to kill your
sister over this!?
TANJA
She cursed me!

6 Days Dark

[90]

OLGA
Rubbish! She doesn't know how.
SVETLANA
I used the six days dark curse!
Olga looks at Svetlana with utter contempt.
OLGA
You what!?
SVETLANA
It works.
OLGA
You have no idea how dangerous
that curse is!
Olga turns to Tanja.
OLGA
Put away that gun this instant!
Tanja slowly lowers the gun and places it on the coffee table.
TANJA
Turn off the curse Mother.
OLGA
It is not something you can just
turn off!
Olga looks more concerned now then she was while Tanja was
waving the gun around.
SVETLANA
Every curse can be reversed.
A pause...
OLGA
I must make a special tea.
Olga gets up and leaves the living room.
Tanja and Svetlana look at each other awkwardly.

6 Days Dark

[91]

TANJA
I tried to jump off a bridge. Met
a sadistic couple who apparently
don't age and turn into monsters
who eat people. Almost got raped,
and I might be an escaped mental
patient serial killer.
SVETLANA
The curse won't let you kill anyone.
TANJA
Everyone I met in the past six
days is dead.
SVETLANA
Six days? We haven't seen or heard
from you in six months.
Tanja locks eyes with Svetlana.
TANJA
It's been six days since Sergej died.
SVETLANA
Where have you been all this time?
TANJA
You better hope this curse is
reversible!
Svetlana does not respond and the two of them remain quite
for an awkward moment.
And then TANJA
I loved -Tanja stops before finishing her sentence.
Svetlana raises an eyebrow.
SVETLANA
The toad?
A brief pause...

6 Days Dark

[92]

TANJA
He was a toad, wasn't he?
Svetlana nods her head yes.
TANJA
We were going to kill each other.
A tear rolls down Svetlana's cheek. This is the first time
we see the human side of Svetlana.
Olga returns to the living room with a single cup of black
tar like tea.
She shoves the gun out of the way and places the tea in
front of Tanja, and then takes a seat on the third sofa
between the women.
OLGA
Drink it all at once. All of it!
Tanja takes the cup and drinks it all in one swig while Olga
and Svetlana look on.
TANJA
Now what?
OLGA
We wait.
TANJA
How long?
OLGA
... I don't know. I have never
used this curse.
TANJA
How do we know the tea works!?
OLGA
It works! You just have to wait.
SVETLANA
Mother, there is something wrong
with it. It's not suppose to allow
the cursed to hurt anyone.

6 Days Dark

[93]

OLGA
Tanja has not hurt anyone.
Svetlana points to the gun on the coffee table with her eyes.
OLGA
(To Tanja)
Where did you get the gun?
TANJA
At an old castle near Aunt Sara's
village.
Olga closes her eyes to recompose herself, that was obviously
not the answer she wanted to hear.
OLGA
Did you go to Sara's farm?
Tanja nods her head yes.
TANJA
And she was dead, murdered.
OLGA
Yes, for almost five years now.
But not murdered, she died in her
sleep, in the most peaceful
possible way. The curse has
blocked that from your memory and
gave you an alternative reality.
TANJA
Well that's one less person I
killed.
OLGA
You didn't kill anyone Tanja. And
that castle has been abandon since
world war two. It should have
been torn down years ago, its has
an evil past.
TANJA
I was there, twice. Or at least
in my dreams.
Olga shakes her head no.

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - FRONT ENTRANCE - DAY

We enter with Tanja and find the entrance not as it was
before and in fact it is in utter ruins.
TANJA (V.O.)
I suppose the monsters I saw
weren't real.
The walls, the ceilings and pillars holding up the ceilings
are crumbling, chunks of the ceiling have crashed to the
floor, the walls are filled with deep cracks.
The torches that illuminated the entrances are no longer on
the walls.
Tanja cautiously makes her way through the large reception
area and to the windowless French doors that lead to the
dining room.
TANJA (V.O.)
The second time I was there. The
monsters were gone, as if they
were never there.
She stops at the French doors and gathers her nerve before
entering through them, just days ago this was a place of
terror for her and today it looks as though no one has lived
here for over half a century.

INT. VIGO'S CASTLE - DINING ROOM - DAY

As Tanja enters the dining room she gasps in horror,..
TANJA (V.O.)
And when I went into the dining
room -She is frozen in terror. A terror unlike any she has ever
felt before.
Spread all over the floor are Dismembered bodies in pools of blood, all females, they look
as though they have been in part eaten.

6 Days Dark

[95]

The sunlight from the windows casts an eerie glow on the

over two dozen bodies.
Tanja does not know whether to scream, faint or run,..
Her body is numbed with petrified fear, her eyes however are
wide-open and rapidly scanning the horrific environment...
And then We see a glimmer from underneath one of the bodies, Tanja
sees it too, and although frozen in fear and seemingly unable
to move she manages to take an unconscious step towards what
is surely some sort of shiny object.
She slowly maneuvers around the bodies littering the floor
without looking down at them.
And now standing over the glimmering object she bends down
and slips her hand under a severed torso and fishes out the
object It's a silver 45 caliber automatic hand gun.
And as she raises to her feet clutching the gun, the bright
sunlight radiating through the windows suddenly begins to
fade casting the dining room into increasing darkness.
Tanja bolts for the exit trampling over several of the
bodies gun still firmly in hand.

INT. NIKOLAEVICH HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Svetlana is almost amused by Tanja's story but Olga is
visibly concern.
OLGA
That wasn't real.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
Then how come the gun is real?

6 Days Dark

[96]

OLGA
She must have found it somewhere
else.
TANJA
Or I dreamed I found it there?
OLGA
That's right.
TANJA
Maybe even this is a dream.
SVETLANA
Not unless you found a way to
suck me into your dream.
And with that Svetlana looks over to her Mother.
SVETLANA
Is that possible. Could this be
Tanja's dream?
OLGA
Don't be ridiculous.
TANJA
Why is it ridiculous Mother? On
my way here I fell asleep in the
taxi and dreamed I killed the
Doctor who was trying to help me,
and during all the time I spent
with him he didn't seem any less
real to me then you and Svetlana
are. Honestly, right now I don't
know if he even existed, if that
hospital existed, or if any of
this right here, right now, is real.
OLGA
That wasn't real, but this is.
TANJA
Mother, who is Vigo and Aleksandra?
Olga stops and looks as if she is being silently suffocated.
OLGA
You know their names?

6 Days Dark

[97]

TANJA
I met them.
Svetlana interrupts.
SVETLANA
Who the fuck is Vigo and Aleksandra?
Both Tanja and Olga disregard Svetlana's question.
TANJA
Why can't you say their names
mother?
OLGA
Was there a tarot card reader at
Sara's farm?
TANJA
Yes, she looked like you.
OLGA
She came to warn you.
TANJA
She didn't make any sense.
OLGA
That was your great grandmother.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
Our great grandmother looks like
you?
OLGA
I don't know, there are no photos
of her. But if she warned Tanja,..
then Tanja was in real danger.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
Why didn't you tell us about this
Vigo and Aleksandra?
OLGA
Because they cause nightmares.

6 Days Dark

[98]

TANJA
Why are they in the curse?
OLGA
You must have learned about them
somehow before your sister cursed
you.
TANJA
Mother I found the gun in the
castle along with a lot of dead
people. And I never heard this
freak's name before he introduced
himself to me.
Olga sinks into concerned thought,..
TANJA (O.S.)
How will I know if the tea worked?
No answer from Olga, she is still lost in thought.
Tanja snaps at Olga.
TANJA (O.S.)
Mother!
Olga breaks out of thought and looks at Tanja.
OLGA
It will work, it needs time.
Olga then looks at Svetlana and OLGA
What did you use?
SVETLANA
A strand of her hair.
OLGA
Did you speak the curse correctly.
SVETLANA
Yes. I practiced it a thousand
times the night before and
memorized it.

6 Days Dark

[99]

OLGA
... Something went wrong.
SVETLANA
I know I told you. She's not
suppose to be homicidal!
TANJA
How can a curse go wrong? I
thought they either worked or
didn't.
OLGA
This is no ordinary curse.
Tanja looks across the room at a mirror TANJA
There's something else. When I
look in a mirror I see another
woman. And I dream her as if she
was me.
We cannot see the reflection in the mirror because of the
angle of our point-of-view but we can tell that Tanja can
see the reflection clearly.
SVETLANA
(To Olga)
There's nothing about that in the
curse mother.
OLGA
The curse was used only once by
your great grandmother, she died
before explaining it properly. No
one really knows how it works.
Except that its designed to drive
you mad, to make you see things
that aren't there, and make you
believe something is real when
it's not. Mostly you're dreaming
and when you're awake those dreams
become memories of things you
think happened but really didn't.
Tanja looks at the mirror again as if being drawn to look at
it by an invisible force.

6 Days Dark

[100]

TANJA
If I were to kill you and Svetlana
now and all this is not real then
the two of you will still be alive
tomorrow.
Tanja shifts her attention from the mirror to the gun and Reaches for the gun, picks it up, and points it at Olga.
OLGA
Tanja! The gun is real, so are we!
TANJA
If the Gun is real, then so is
everything that happened to me.
Tanja shifts her focus to Svetlana and now points the gun at
her.
SVETLANA
Mother!
OLGA
Give me the gun Tanja!
TANJA
I'll see you tomorrow sis.
BANG, BANG,..
TANJA
... Or in hell.
She shoots Svetlana in the throat, and neck. Svetlana slumps
over dead.
Olga SCREAMS...
Tanja returns her focus to Olga and without hesitation,
BANG... And silences her scream with a single shot to the
forehead.
Tanja looks over now dead Olga and Svetlana.

6 Days Dark

[101]

TANJA
Hmmm, you guys look pretty dead
to me. Guess we'll see if you
stay that way.
Tanja then gets up calmly as though nothing had happened,
and makes her way to the mirror, we follow behind her.
She looks at herself in the mirror and this time we too can
see the reflection clearly.
In the mirror we see Dark Tanja.
FADE OUT.
ROLL full credits set to black screen and music...
