Objective
To obtain an adjunct position teaching in an online environment
Qualifications
Since the Fall of 2010 I have been a member of the Electronic
Journalism Arts Department at Lyndon State College. I currently teach
the Performance and Presentation set of courses which prepares
students for their entry into the real world by using positive
interpersonal communication skills, getting them to think about their
personal appearance, attitude and demeanor. The courses also cover
basic to advanced skills pertaining to working in front of the television
camera, creating a positive on air presence as well as a strong
speaking voice. In addition I work closely with students in the
organization of the daily live broadcast, News7. I work with producers,
reporters, and technical crew on all aspects of production, in an
instructional manner.
Prior to coming to Lyndon I was a television professional with more
than 10 years experience working in all facets of both live TV news and
news magazine programming. Throughout my television career, I spent
time in front of and behind the camera serving in multiple positions
including, producer, reporter, anchor, writer, and editor.

- Live daily newscast producer. Responsible for all aspects of show
coordination, direction and flow. Determine story order, timing,
graphics, and video/sound bite use.

- Field Producer. Coordinate reporter/anchor live shots in the field,


usually in a breaking news or developing news situation. Assist
reporter with gathering story elements and on air presentation. Work
from a live truck/mobile newsroom.
- Anchor. Present the news in a clear and concise manner to viewing
audience. Look presentable and professional.
- Reporter. Coordinate and perform on camera interviews with various
subjects. Help videographer determine appropriate coordinating video.
Utilize interview sound bites and video to write and produce package.
- Writer. Turn facts and information into an accurate, and easy to
understand script to be used for broadcast.
- Web Writer/Producer. Write clear, complete and concise news stories
for use on the Internet. Responsible for web page layout and updating.
Post video and photos as needed.
- Editor. Tape to tape editor of video news footage. Experience with
multiple formats including, DVC, Beta, VHS and U-Matic. Some
experience with non-linear formats of editing.
- Assignment Desk Assistant. Generate story ideas and show content
by managing email, phone, and Internet communications with the
general public, police, fire and other officials. Also coordinate news
crews in their daily assignments.
- Production Coordinator. Assist in setting up various video shoots,
working with on-site contact person to arrange date, time and exact
location shooting will take place. Coordinate editing and shooting
schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Intern Supervisor. Interview and select internship candidates from
student applications. Ensure that the chosen students receive real
world experience while assisting in daily production activities.

2012-present
- This committee formed as a result of the Spring 2012 strategic
planning meeting. The committee was tasked with presenting
ideas to the presidents leadership team on ways the Lyndon
State College campus can better utilize the human potential of
its community members. The goals being to help create an
overall positive environment on campus, create incentive
programs to get the community more engaged and involved in
on-campus activities and help foster an overall sense of
community across various departments.
